I’m seeking a partner to do a vampire roleplay based on the Anne Rice’s vampires. Originally I had planned to make this a group roleplay but I decided on 1x1 instead. The reason being that I want this to be more intimate and focused on two characters instead of a group. And I think the idea really calls for just two characters.
First a little about me. I’m female. I’ve been roleplaying for a few years now and I think I’m a fairly good writer, though I wouldn’t say I’m great. I still have some problems with grammar and because english is my second language I do tend to confuse some words phonetically. Sometimes I fail to capture these words when I edit and since the spell check doesn’t underline them as typos they filter through. So, I apologize in advance if you happen to find them in my writing.
I can write four or five paragraphs and if I’m really inspired I can provide even longer posts. For this reason I kindly ask that if you are interested that you have a similar disposition. At the very least be able to write four paragraphs of five to seven sentences each. Our roleplay will be all about character development, a period roleplay set in the 17th century, and descriptive historic posts are for the most part wanted. This is why I’m tagging this roleplay high casual to advance. However, you don’t need great knowledge of the time period, or of historic events, but a simple google search goes a long way if you feel unfamiliar with the setting.
I prefer forum posting because I don’t like doing things through PM’s or emails, it helps keep things from getting personal. And all I’m seeking is a roleplaying partner and nothing more. Posting is relaxed, I prefer one post every other day but sometimes even this isn’t possible for me, especially if I want to turn in a good lengthy post. I won’t be hackling you to post quickly, just don’t disappear on me without a heads up, and as fair warning if I don’t hear from you for more than a week you will be replaced.
I don’t mind playing any role but for this particular roleplay I am seeking MxM interaction. The plot for my roleplay is derived of the idea of a vampire eunuch seeking a companion. In his search he finds your character, another vampire. They share a similar background; It has been many years since they separated from their maker and it seems they are the only two vampires left (for the time being). A romance can develop between them but eunuchs are typically asexual and have no interest in sex. There will most likely be NO mature content because the site prohibits it, but we can keep things pg 13. Both are young, between 18 and 20 years-old in human years, and no more than a half-century old in vampire years. They know nothing of Those Who Must Be Kept or the existence of other vampires from the series. They know very little of the one who made them (you can fill in the gaps as you see fit just don’t use any of the canon vampires) their maker is most likely dead (possible conclusion they were both made by the same vampire).
The story begins in Italy’s 17th century, recorded in our history books as the Seicento, the period in time that saw the end of the Renaissance movement in Italy and the beginning of the Baroque era. Northern Italy is still a flourishing artistic center - even as its political and economic stature gradually declines over the course of our character’s history - and Venice is still the cultural capital of Europe and home to great masters of painting, giving birth to a new theatrical form - the opera - and inventions of several musical instruments, stylistic genres, and astronomical discoveries.
You don’t need to have read the books in order to join, but it does help to become familiar with the wiki page (which I’m linking) so that you have a greater understanding of the world we’ll be playing. Anne’s vampires are different in several ways from more traditional vampires, and I don’t want to have to copy a wall of text here when you can review the wiki. So please use the wiki for reference if you don’t know anything about Anne’s vampire characters. Particularly vampiric properties and vampiric gifts. We will follow the rules already set by Anne regarding vampiric powers and how vampires evolve as they age.
There are several supernatural beings as well as humans with supernatural abilities that exist in the Anne Rice novels, and I will be including them in our roleplay. These include werewolves, witches, spirits, angels and demons, and psychic humans. There are also several secret orders which are also intricate to the world we’ll be playing and they too will be included in small parts to the roleplay. I will be providing additional links of information if you are not familiar with them. This roleplay will be gory and mysterious but also romantic and venturesome, so let your imagination flow within the limits set by the rules of the world created by Anne Rice.
