So how do you plan to determine turn order? Also, I'm still not sure if you're using a homebrew system, making an effectively freeform game with stats, or using the published Fallout system.

Turn order is determined by your usernames in alphabetical order, so that it is fair. And for the system, I am using Fallout's S.P.E.C.I.A.L system, with a few tweaks of course. I have yet to set them up though, but they should be on tomorrow

You didn't suggest an image. :3. Sorry I didn't work on it tonight. Though I can make a character also when the system is done as well.

Alright, I look forward to seeing it. Will there be dice rolls?

Hey, sorry this took me so long. I've had some stuff going on IRL.

Name:
Thomas K. Baha

Gender:
Male

Race:
Ghoul

Background:
Born not too long before the nukes were dropped, Thomas was only 25 when they hit near his hometown. His life had been rather unordinary. Growing up in the small town of Casper, Wyoming, most of his time had been spent hunting, as was most people's pastime. His small home had a bit of a makeshift nuclear shelter, a large underground concrete room, per the request of his paranoid fiancée. Surprisingly enough, they did manage to get some use out of it.

Though technically she was still only his girlfriend, Thomas had planned to propose just before they had been forced to retreat to their shelter. He thought that they would make it through the bombing, and they could make it to a more romantic time, but lady luck wasn't on his side. Though he managed to get away alive, albeit ghoul-ified, Thomas' girlfriend was fried, thanks to the terrible quality of their shelter. This broke him, in a way. He never was quite his old self, but he still keeps his engagement ring on a ball chain on his neck, for reasons that even he isn't quite sure of.

For the first few years of his survival in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, Thomas was violent and aggressive, shooting people on sight on principle. He wasn't going to take any chances of getting robbed. Though at first he was a bit of a shoddy shooter, and burned through stimpacks like nobody's business, he gained quite a bit of skill, soon becoming infamous for his sharpshooting.

As he ran around the wasteland, he began taking unsavory jobs from unsavory people. In doing this, he built up a reputation with the NCR, and not the kind you want to have. He had quite a bounty over his head, and there were plenty of mercs in the Mojave willing to do the NCR's dirty work. It wasn't long before he had been brought in, and the NCR was more than happy to execute him. However, thanks to some heavy handed plot convenience, The Legion struck their camp, and hard. Thomas was spared, thanks to some favors he had paid The Legion in the past.

Still unable to settle down anywhere, thanks to his unfortunate visage, he continued to roam the Mojave, a bit easier on his trigger. For a brief period of time, he associated with the Brotherhood of Steel- he had a bit of a knack for energy weapons, and the power suits were a convenient mask for his ghoul-ish disposition. It didn't last long, and he soon left, thanks to some differences he had with the others.

In an attempt to lay low and stay out of trouble, Thomas settled down in a small town by the name of Jaynestown, just a few days trip south of Vegas. There, he did manage to lay low for awhile, as the town had a rather large population of ghouls. However, he soon got caught up in a racket selling Jet, which was rather frowned upon. It wasn't long before he was kicked out of the town, which wasn't too good for his morale.

Unsure of what to do at that point, he headed up to Las Vegas, why not just gamble away the rest of his life? Rather than losing all of his money as he would've thought happen, he actually struck some riches, at which point he retired from his gambling career, quitting while he was ahead. Despite his rolling in caps, when he found work with the Crimson Caravan Company, he took it eagerly. It would be nice to get back to his old life of fighting his way across the wasteland.

Personality:
Like most ghouls, he is rather cynical about his condition, and has a certain apathy towards smooth-skins. Still, he tolerates them if he has to. He has, over the years, become far more calm, conducting himself in a rather business-like manner, but he has a short temper, and tends to burst out in angry fits. He doesn't like to talk about himself, or his past. He is a bit paranoid, as he has made quite a few enemies in the past.

Name: Jasmine Boxer
Gender: Female
Race: African

Background: To say that Jasmine had an unconventional upbringing would be a massive understatement. As far back as she could remember, she grew up in an underground bunker, raised by its only other human inhabitant - her grandfather, William Boxer. Once William Boxer was called Dr. Boxer; he was a brilliant polymath, a scientist and an engineer who did his best to teach his granddaughter everything she could possibly need to know, and some things that were almost certainly not going to become relevant either. In this he was assisted by a small army of specially-designed robots of his own making, who were like Jasmine's older siblings, pets, childhood friends and guardians at the same time. For a while, they obviated any need the young girl might have had for human company. In the meantime, she was busy learning all that there was to know about the world that was... and the one that took its place.

Dr. Boxer seldom said anything about his place in the picture he painted. But he still let some things slip, from time to time, and that was more than enough for his granddaughter to piece the story together. There were some very evil people out there, who earned everyone's hatred with their actions; a society with advanced technology and genocidal ambitions. Dr. Boxer was one of their scientists, but eventually he balked at doing some of the things they wanted him to do. With his intellect and his devices, escaping them and evading pursuit was not difficult. She appreciated that taking her along - whether she really was his granddaughter or not, which she found some reasons to doubt - would have made the escape this much more risky. So no matter what he did up to that point, she was secure in the knowledge that Dr. Boxer was, at heart, a good person.

One day when Jasmine was sixteen, however, Dr. Boxer's past had caught up with him - though not in the way either of them had expected. A detachment of troops from the New California Republic Army found the bunker, and fought their way past its automated defenses. Jasmine hid and watched as they destroyed her robot friends, then confronted William Boxer himself. They called him a war criminal, a murderer; they accused him of destroying entire villages in his time with the Enclave... and they asked him where he had hidden the hostage from one of those villages. Jasmine did not hang around to hear the answer. She went to her room, grabbed her laser pistol and some power cells along with other bare necessities, and evaded NCR soldiers to escape the bunker. Just as she was leaving, she heard a single gunshot, and a body falling to the ground.

Adrift in the world, Jasmine nonetheless soon realised she could not survive out there without people like her grandfather did. Her technical ingenuity served her well, allowing her to work as a technician and an engineer in the nearest settlements, but it was only through luck and resourcefulness that she managed to survive when deals went bad. The young woman grew mistrustful, especially when she found signs that NCR was looking for someone of her description. Whatever they had in mind, she did not wish to play along.

The Crimson Caravan Company was an ideal solution, once she had heard of the group. It had a good reputation, and so was less likely to be a cover for raiders or NCR intelligence; and while somewhat affiliated with NCR, it was independent enough and interested in heading out to the frontier. This was her best chance to outrun NCR - and make a living while doing so.

Personality: When she escaped from her grandfather's bunker, Jasmine was the classic example of "book smart, street dumb". Since then, she had learned a thing or two about business contracts and surviving in the wilderness, but remained socially awkward - a situation not helped by her paranoid streak. Her naivety had given way to cynicism and mistrust. While her main instincts these days are those of self-preservation, she prefers not to hurt people when it is not necessary to secure her life and freedom, and is willing to help them out with the understanding that they would help her in return. While she usually considers herself pragmatic and levelheaded, her paranoia can sometimes get the better of her and feed into her more impulsive side; after all, she has seen how patient planning can go astray, and how the best way to throw off traitors and pursuers is often to do something unexpected. Under this layer of paranoid self-preservation, much of her old personality survives: she is very fascinated by the old world and by technology, and is eager to learn more about either. One might also notice that she is more sympathetic towards robots than she is towards living things, or at least that is an impression she does nothing to dispel.

Hey people. Brief update on who we're waiting for and why.

Zeb:
-Inform us on your progress with the system
-Answer von's question about dice
-Approve/Decline/Critique von's and Dr Trapezoid's characters
-Make a list of everyone in the roleplay with their characters' names provided (optional - future addition for convenience)

dndragons:
-Make a character sheet. (the image is not a requirement, so it should not be your primary focus, especially when it delays our progression as a group)

That's all I can think of. Neither dndragons nor zeb have posted anything in three days. I may be jumping the gun here, but I was promised a system for this roleplay two days ago and have not got a reason for the delay.

Edit: Also, Zeb, from looking at the other character sheets, it would appear that none of our characters are "fresh out of the vault" or have amnesia, as is the case in FO3 and FNV. As a result, I propose that all of our characters start out at either level 5 or level 10 with all of the perks, skills, and traits which result from their experiences. I also propose that Isaac and Thomas have racial bonuses, as ghouls are definitely more resistant to radiation, and the Shi are obviously better attuned with technology than are normal wasteland dwellers. Of course, the same would apply to racial penalties, as Shi will not be able to speak English with great proficiency and ghouls are...ghouls...

You sound a little impatient. I've had work and the image isn't keeping me at all. I was waiting for the system and such while I already have a history in mind.

As I said, "I may be jumping the gun here." Also, from what you said in previous posts, you seemed quite intent on having a "suggested image" whereas you proposed that you "can make a character also when the system is done as well," quoting directly from your post four days ago. What I wrote was based on this information. If that is not what you intended, you should have edited the post so as to not misinform us, as is the case with all internet documentation.

I do not have a problem with you waiting for Zeb's system before proposing your character sheet, I just wanted you to know that the rest of us were waiting on you and Zeb. I know that we are all quite eager to get started. Or at least I hope so. Meow~

Name:Gender:Race:Background:Personality: Before I finish a sheet I like it when people comment on the images available. It helps me decide since I have over 900 saved on my file. So pick and choose which one you would want to see used! Love hearing comments both good and bad that help me decide.

I like 5 and 6 the best.

It is not "dead," it never started. Zeb has decided to take a vacation without telling us, so we have to wait until he returns.

Ok... I know everyone is probably mad at me for being gone for a week. And I know I broke my #1 rule, I should've said something before being gone for so long. Real life has has been busy but from now on, I will tell you if I was to be gone for a while. I'm really sorry and hope that you guys would forgive me. No this thread isn't "dead", it's just my fault for being absent. I am here now and I have the rules and stuff all set up.

You guys may know that dnddragons has dropped his spot and I don't think I'm going to give it to someone else. Just gonna keep the roster small, cuz...y' know, it's a turn based tabletop game. but if he decides to rejoin, we'll let him join.

DR_TRAPEZOID, von_das, you guys are accepted.

And by icicle's request, You guys will start out at lvl 5, complete with perks and traits. And each race will have a race bonus, how's that sound. Also, I should've included a starting gear section for the character sheet, so I'm going to give you guys the same equipment. If anyone requests special equipment, please say so...... just keep it simple, and it obviously can't be god-modded either.

yeah, that'll be fine. maybe I'll add a bonus to it since it is your character's unique armor. nothing too special though, I want to keep everything fair right now.
