Has anyone here read the Mortal Instrument series? This'll be a bit like that.
Setting info:
Since there have been humans, there have been monsters. Monsters from vampires to werewolves to daemons to fair folk, to those capable of spellcasting, known as magi. While never exactly equal socially, the ratios of humans to everything else was fairly even. Sometimes human groups were in power, sometimes other forces took control. Always clashing.
Until recent history, at least. After the monster rights movement in the 80s, monsters (defined as any non-human sentient race) gained roughly equal status to humans legally. The police force was, however, granted extra power when dealing with monsters. This ultimately grew into a separate branch of the legal system; judicators, people and monsters specially trained to deal with criminal activity by monsters. And for a while, this system was fairly stable.
But lately, things have been stirring. Strange, evil forces long forgotten have been appearing, and talk of something big coming has been whispered. The shadows are growing long in Clearwater, and twilight will soon fall. What will happen then?

This'll be a fairly high-casual RP as far as quality goes. I'd appreciate it if a fair bit of effort went into posts, but I don't expect huge lengthy walls of text. Your character can be one of a few things, from monster to human to magi to judicator, with an in-depth list of what each group entails should this receive sufficient interest (which I'll be fairly open to adding creatures to on a request basis). Your character will be a citizen of a fictional city known as Clearwater. The specifics of the plot shall be developed at a further date, but it will involve a great threat to the city and it's people in the form of a gathering force of evil.
