Oh, no. Messing up is a big part of it. I actually imagine, after they create life and death, that they realize that the universe as they've made it isn't stable enough to promote life, so they blow it all up, leaving only the threads and weaving, and then begin again, to create a universe more as we know it.

So, making things it is. Do you care what next, or should I just do whatever would come intuitively to Aysus?

Hey, Pope. I'm back on the road again, so it is probably going to be a good two weeks or more before I'm able to get you a reply. As ever, thank you for your patience. Once I'm back this time, I should be set to do consistent replies until late November.

Haha! My span of radio silence is, in theory, at a conclusion. Hope you still remember me.

I'm going to go ahead and promise you a reply in the next couple of days.

...

We shall see how that works out.

Hey, Pope.

I've had a couple of people in various places ask me to write articles about worldbuilding, and little tidbits or tips that I find useful. I'm good at writing these articles, but I completely blank when it comes to choosing what subjects about which I should write. Any useful spitballing for me?

Well, for me, when world building, I have to figure out what will be most important to the story and start there. Like, if the main character will need to be travelling a lot, making up interesting scenery and actual things of note, along with how the road system works, or with flying as the main mode of transportation, deciding what the flight is and how it is handled(Like do they fly on their own, or on flying cats or hover cars) how far apart things are, and so on. Or for another example, if the main point is, say, the need to gather something together, like my dad's "Rod of 7 Parts" which is used to seal the door of hell forever, the main focus should be coming up with these special places for the special items to be held or stored, what worldly obstacles you can put in the way. If the focus is more on the people, say it's about a kingdom or planet recovering from some catastrophe, then the focus would be around the people, and the need to find ways for the event to have affected the world would be more important than, say, the specifics of a mountain range that may or may not ever be seen.

so, that is the core of my input. Finding the center of whatever the story is about from within, and from there grow the world around it. Like, with our RP. Between us, the actual point IS world building, so we started with simple characters, nothing much going on, but with the steady will towards change we are growing it as naturally as we can through our avatars, feeling each other's intentions out, and our characters are building, growing, and evolving. We began with the natural elements, as all worlds must, and from there we will move on to creating more of the flavor, with our core of needing to build already having given us a world in which that very goal is quite comfortable and workable.

So, that's me talking naturally. I am quite out f my mind, so forgive me if it makes no sense, but that's what came to my mind first :P Enjoy :P

Makes sense. Doesn't help me much, because I need an actual subject. Something I could write a couple hundred words as an explanation to someone else. :p

Thanks for trying, though.

I think I would be more helpful if I knew what you mean by subject. Do you mean like Mountains? Lodestones? Firefighters? Starships? And explanation of what? You said world building, which is the subject of what I talking about, but if you are looking for one specific piece of what it takes to make a world, or things that should be found in a world, I would go with homes. Residences. Since a story is nothing without it's characters, establishing where they rest their head is a good subject to address :P

But still, I have no idea what you mean by subject, and I must be passing out now, so if my mad ramblings of a tired person are found useless, I apologies.

Subject... let me see...

The best I can do is give some examples. Reasons to use different types of housing would certainly qualify, for exactly the reasons you said. Someone write a massive article about creating new languages. Magic was one, as a broad topic, and then narrowing the focus on several different varieties of magic, their uses, advantages and disadvantages. How to make a realistic planet has arrived a couple of times. Pieces of information on how to create a polytheistic or monotheistic religion, reasons to use certain political and governmental systems.

Basically, little pieces of information that other people can use to make their own worlds more realistic and believable. So, yeah. Subject as in pieces of what it takes to make a world.

But now I have a list, and some of those are actually not used yet. So thank you. This was helpful.

It was good! I was entertained.

Aysus, however, is exhausted. Poor thing.

I kept imagining a gorilla trying to open a walnut when I was watching Tahaan trying to break open the bit of matter :P Quite amusing :P

Poor Aysus. Tahaan will content himself with play for a while :P

Heya.

I'm not looking to stomp on your creativity but... I don't get it again. How can something become more negative or positive without completely changing the weave, and making it into something else? And even if it could, for it to become more negative it would either have to lose positive or gain more negative, which would make something else more positive.

It happened when Tahaan bombarded the bit with energy. For the few seconds before it blew, it was more negative than positive, like Tahaan itself. So, when it blew, that energy tainted the bits around it, including the larger chunks, converting some of the positive into negative. Or, at least, that's my idea. I was thinking it could server as a consequence, the first of many I'm sure, for the beings when it comes to tampering without thinking, like Tahaan does, all the time :P If you really don't like it, then I could take it out. Through it's bombardment it made something that was not balanced.

Ok. I can see how the actions of one of them could change the nature of something. May I ask a bit more about what the consequences are going to be?

Well, that is for us to determine as we go along I suppose. We can just let it tumble through space, and when one of us finds an opening and/or has a brilliant idea, we bring it in! I am thinking nothing too horribly terrible, but we could have it a major factor as to why they re-set everything :P

Maybe not a major factor, but one of hundreds of reasons why it wasn't going to work. Sure. That works.

I'll try and get you a reply soon, but homework. Ugh.
