Hey y’all. Due to a personal love for true crime/crime dramas, I’ve been wanting to do a plot like this for a long, long time, but it’s never really worked out properly in my head. But I thought that I’d finally try and get something written down. This is all still really rough right now, but hopefully I’ll find someone who can help me refine and develop this as we go along.
Rules:

- This will be MxF, as stated in the title.

- High casual to advanced means I’m looking for experienced writers who are able to give strong, descriptive posts. I post at least three paragraphs each time, and a whole lot more if I’m particularly inspired.

- This is a dark plot with dark themes, so please be mature and willing to accept that none of these themes will be censored. Violence, profanity, romance, etc. will not be faded to black. That means be 18+. That also means the RP will take place through PMs.

- Additional characters (NPCs) will be shared between us, unless you tell me otherwise.

- Don’t disappear without notice. Seriously, I’m a grown woman and I can handle “I’ve lost interest”, “I’ve got writer’s block” etc, as long as you’re polite about it. Nothing sucks more than waiting excitedly for a post from an amazing RP and having it never arrive.

- Aaaand have fun! If you’re not having fun, tell me (see rule above). Because what’s the point of roleplaying if it feels like a dreadful obligation?
Plot:

In a major city (which city is subject to our agreement), there has been a spate of serial killings so violent, so grotesque in nature (again, details can be settled later) that it’s been slapped all over the news. This has put immense pressure on the local police department, with the media descending like vultures on a buffalo carcass. The department’s “star” detective has just returned to duty after a stint recovering from a botched takedown during which he lost his partner, and received several injuries of his own. To cope with the loss of a man who had practically been a brother, he started developing a few unhealthy “habits” (what habits, you decide). Despite this, he’s somehow managed to scrape through his psych eval, and is immediately put on this new case by his less-than-forgiving superiors.

Eventually, the department realizes that they can’t deal with this on their own, and enlist the assistance of the FBI and its Behavioral Analysis Unit. Sent to assist is a young profiler, a relative newbie in comparison to her more seasoned colleagues at Quantico. Adopted into wealth, she is a quiet, serious overachiever; she can be cuttingly cynical – a front she puts up – and, in spite of her youth, she has borne witness to a slew of criminal atrocities. The worst of these atrocities was the revelation that her biological parents were a team of notorious serial killers. In contrast, the detective was brought up in a happy, blue collar household amongst numerous siblings, knowing the streets like the back of his hand and maintaining a few questionable “sources” who provide him information on a frequent basis.

The two clash almost instantly. The detective is a firm believer in logic and action, thinking that behavioral science, and therefore profiling, is unreliable and may only lead to the wrong person getting caught. The profiler thinks the detective is too headstrong, too unstable, and unsuited for his position considering the amount of attention the case is receiving.

If it isn’t obvious enough already, I’m looking for a male to take the role of the detective, with me playing the profiler. I’d like someone to work on future plot twists with me, along with how our characters eventually cooperate in solving this case. While the stoppage of violent crime is the main theme here, I want some grit and emotion to it (I’m a sucker for description), as well as character development. Characters will deal with personal conflicts along with work stress and a killer (or killers) on the loose.

Possible plot twists may or may not include:

- Family members of the detective’s ex-partner blaming him for the death
- Accidental death of a suspect involved in the case
- Corruption in the police department
- The suspected killer turning out to be a team of killers, or connected to an underground crime network of some sort
- The protagonists being targeted by the perpetrator
- Old cases coming back to haunt the protagonists
So yeah, PM me if you're interested.
