I'd like to start this as a second shot at what I thought was a great idea. This was attempted on another forum but fell apart due to several writers god-modding their factions.

The setting would be New Vegas in the years following the Second Battle of Hoover Dam.

House, is a brilliant inventor who kept Las Vegas safe when the world plunged into what would become "The Great War" and bring about the death of the vast majority of mankind. New Vegas is the reinvented Las Vegas, ran by House and several tribes he allowed to populate the area. Together they turned New Vegas into a powerhouse of the post-apocalyptic world by utilizing the power provided by the Hoover Dam. That same Dam however drew the attention of other powers and would be powers of the area. There was first one Battle for Hoover Dam, long ago, and recently a second.

The New California Republic and Caesar's Legion both sought to take the Hoover Dam and thus establish their control over the area. The New California Republic is a vaguely imperialistic group coming from the West. Their land holdings are significant and though they lack advanced weaponry their numbers and training have allowed them victory over better equipped foes, The Brotherhood of Steel, and those with superior numbers, Caesar's Legion. Caesar's Legion is a society of tribal and raider groups headed by a man influenced by what he knows of the ancient Roman empire. Though initially they lacked heavy firepower their warlike nature leads them to become more and more powerful as they stretch their borders ever Westward, toward New Vegas and the NCR beyond.

House, Mr. House if you please, with the assistance of a courier referred to widely as The Courier, utilized an army of mechanized units (Securitrons) to defeat both of these threats and drive them from the area. He now seeks to strengthen New Vegas against any possible new or familiar powers and to reward or punish the factions of the Mojave according to who they supported in that Second Battle for Hoover Dam.

Those who sided with the NCR/Legion would likely face more repercussions from House, and whichever of the two they sided against. Those who remained neutral wouldn't have the support of any faction but also wouldn't draw the ire of any, while those who sided with House would be rewarded by him but viewed as traitors by the others, at least at first.

This seems a much healthier atmosphere than the other forum these days (unfortunately) so I would very much like to give it a shot here. Any input is very much welcomed.

I totally went with House when I played this anyway. He's the one with the best shot at jumpstarting civilization and fast-tracking Humanity back to where they were. I might be interested in this, gonna keep an eye on it and see how this thread goes.
