Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening, to whomever is reading!
After writing my introductory post, I did a bit of browsing and decided that I would write out my own little post in the 1x1 board so that I might capture some interested people in Roleplaying. Now, a little bit of context - I'm a female, in my twenties whose been roleplaying for the better part of nearly six to eight years. It stretches all the way back from stupid little posts in an online browser based game to focused story based writing with friends, until I found a site where other users roleplayed through forum posting. It was interesting, and it's what started me on the path to more creative, paragraphed writing, rather than writing all my replies in script based posts. I've had quite a fair amount of experience with roleplaying, and I'm constantly doing my best to improve my creativity when it comes to my writing.
Now, I don't want to overwhelm myself, and I know myself well enough to understand that I prefer 1x1 roleplays to group roleplays, as too many cooks can spoil the broth. However, if one piques my own interest, who knows, I may join! But this topic area isn't for group, it is for 1x1's, and with that, a few general rules and pointers to note when roleplaying with me.
1. If you will be inactive for a while, please do say. I hope to be able to get at least between one to two posts per roleplay a day, and would expect at least one post from my partner. However, if something else has got you busy, please inform me if you cannot reply for a while and when you would hope to be able to post again.
2. There's no shame in telling me you don't think the roleplay is working out. Be honest with me, I shall be honest with you if there is no more interest in the story for me.
3. With 1x1's, it seems a lot of romantic relationships come into play. I am 100% for romance, if it isn't brutally forced. I've been in roleplays where my partner has been quite dedicated to forcing chemistry and I had to awkwardly dance to their whims to make my own original character love theirs. It was not a pleasant experience and I would prefer it didn't happen again.
4. 18+ Content is fine by me so long as it fits the context. This is something I'll discuss before hand with any roleplay partner of mine, about what boundaries you have, as well as my own.
5. Please no... crazily specific content that is outside of the social norms. Things like Incest, Rape, Bestiality, Underage, etc, are all things I do not want to see popping up with requests for roleplay.
6. I cannot and will not hand-hold you through a story. I want to drive a story with plot and character developments, but I don't want to be the only one coming up with ideas to move the plot along. Likewise, I do not expect you to hand-hold me, nor completely take over controlling what happens.
7. I love discussing ideas for plot and character development on the side. I'd love to be able to talk with my partner outside of the roleplay to share our thoughts on where to go next.
8. I am fairly confident in my ability to play both genders, but I would prefer to us both double, with me having one male character and a female character, as well as yourself.
9. I only roleplay Male x Female when it comes to romance, because I have no real experience in Male x Male nor any Female x Female roleplays.
10. Right now, I will not roleplay fandoms or cannon characters.
11. Looking at the forum, I would say I roleplay at a level of Casual to Low-Advanced. I prefer at least two paragraphs per post.
12. Expect to control side characters within our roleplays if the time comes, as I will not take all of them. Of course, I won't just spring this on you, it will be discussed before hand, I'm sure.
13. Last one! No over the top, Mary Sues and Gary Stus for characters, as well as no characters who somehow manage to dodge every attack that is thrown their way. In short, no sloppy characters and no god-modding.
With all that out of the way, I'm officially done blabbering! If you read all that, you get a Gold Star for being nice enough to wade through all of my talking. I do not have an ideas yet, but give me some time, and I shall most definitely update this Interest check with my little starter ideas.
