She was raises by a handful of women who were also very poor. They moved from place to place finding work where they could. How she got a basic education was a miracle in it's self due to her humble upbringing. She set off on her own at age 18 when things became particularly difficult for her patchwork family. Since then she had taken up residence in a large city and helping with the excavation work.
