I'm already working in the company as the new position, and it's only posted internally at this time. I can fulfill all the other qualifications and I have extensive experience and passion in the things listed in the job description. So it's worth a shot I guess.

Anybanapple, on-topic: no harm in applying - good luck. I'm considering applying for an undergraduate research placement at uni based entirely around coding, and I've barely even started coding... in a different language than the one they want. But fuck it, why not, y'know?
