Scarlet Nocturne
“They say, the Scarlet Nocturne is one of the many ways the planet itself create art, for the globe is a living being and thus an artist itself!”
Well this is an RPG I made once in another forum and went well but due to several reasons it died, after more than a year I feel that I may try it again.
The setting is a world of Art. A world in which the essence of everything is art and passion. Similar how our world’s laws define physics, in this world the law of art’s expression exists and it goes pretty much about the manifestation of a construct or abstraction coming from Art. In simpler words, it’s like producing a certain effect while executing art, yet for this to work a true passion behind the art must exists. And thus this is how the world had evolved.
It’s a current era similar to our renascence and industrial revolution period with a victorian touch but in which many of the technological advances had been made through art. For example a painter with such a passion that can make an effect to happen, such as lifting a rock by painting the scene, a singer whose voice can create color upon matter, a chef able to fill the street with sweet scents and flying pots of food, anything can be done through art, even things such as transportation as vehicles of this world are machines nondependent of fuel as they had been created by the passionate hands of a mechanic.
Of course a bit of our technology exists within the world, the development of several items, most of them destined to art, think on cameras, musical instruments. Many people have dual jobs, one for the income and other for its passion, regardless, the priority of all is the art.
Though this is not a world without sins. Competence is fierce, most people want others to recognize their talents and is not weird for great exhibitions of art to be events comparable to our real world awards. Many would step over others to make their dreams become truth, poorness is a reality and more over is depravation. Cruelty is easily hidden behind smiling sculptures.
And thus, the main plot of this tale won’t be a happy one, to call it dark would be too much too. I would call it a sad story, though is upon to you to decide that, and of course to bring your own tales on to create a spiral of stories of art and that unpredictable and twisted human nature.
So, I hope I can entangle some of you within my twisted tale…
