RavenTLark Potterhead Alert!

I will start off:

I felt a soft breeze run through my long, tangled hair, the tree that I am sitting in is high but I've never been afraid of hights, if anything, I love the freedom of being so far up off the ground. I hear a rustle in the untamed bushes of the forest, I don't even need to think, I've done this so many times. I look down the shaft of my arrow to see something that I didn't expect....

The rustle turned to rustling, as Raven saw a massive man in equally large armor come into view, fighting something that looked like some sort of Daemonic wolf-bear... The fight continued, the man battling the beast, until it bit on his blade and a tug-of-war began between the two large specimens. The man produces something from a pouch on his person, some kind of dust that he throws at the creatures eyes, making it stagger and try to run away in pain. He retrieves his blade, it being spat out by the beast, and pushes it away behind the thick shrubbery, before finishing the creature off with a coup-de-grace.

He rests for a moment, seemingly doing some sort of final rite, before he notices Raven 'behind' and above him. He slowly looks up, and speaks after a moment of strange silence, "..What did you see?"

Raven was curious to what the dust was yet does not dare to ask. She keeps her long bow at the ready in case he tries to attack, she drops down gracefully from the tree and asks him in a soft tone," What do you want me to have seen?" As she says this she devises a plan so that she can be ready for anything.

He pauses, obviously thinking and silently judging the Elf. "...Me doing my duty as a Knight of these lands? That would be best, Fair Lady.". He polishes off his blade with a simple cloth he produces, "A dangerous animal was simply put down. No more. No less. I hope you understand?".

He glances at the body, dead in the bushes, and seems to have a just noticeable nod for a second. "Damnable creatures. No one knows who made these vile beasts.. but they're too dangerous to let live.". He lets out a hand, "I am Joshua. Knight of my Liege, Duke Rousseau.".

She looks at him, watching to see a sign that he might be lying but sees nothing. She stares at the dead beast for a moment, trying to decide if it really was as dangerous or if it was being defensive." If they are so dangerous than why is this the first time I have seen them?" she asks stubbornly ignoring his hand," and don't call me that again." While saying this she glares stonily at him for a split second but quickly regains her calm.

"Simple, they've just been appearing a few weeks ago, at most... I'd 'looove' to answer more of your questions, but I'm afraid I must continue hunting these abominables.", he points at her, "This is currently no place for common hunters such as yourself, I nae doubt your abilities, but these obviously aren't your average predators.", he looks over the creature one last time, before beggining to walk away deeper into the forest, blade still ready.

The dead creature looks mighty strange, it looks like it doesn't even belong in this world. It has a thick hide, and while it's definitely dead, it's quite clear it's 'just' expired, any less and it would've likely lived. It has long, mighty sharp claws almost the size of daggers, and piercing red eyes that nearly glow. It looks like they were fighting for quite a while before they stumbled into your vision, it having wounds you didn't see 'Joshua' inflict yourself.

"I can understand why you would doubt me but I am not and never will be common," she climbed back into the treetops and out of view without a sound. Her calm was breaking at the thought of being 'common' as she had always been called everything but. When she is at the top of the tree she calls out," you should watch who you insult, others might not be so forgiving, Joshua," and pops gracefully out of sight again.
