Team Rune were once the hottest shit to hit the metaphorical exploration fan (or so they say...). Straight out of Slowkings Guild, they caught the infamous Treasure Town Tripper, discovered a treasure trove of Golden Apples (which went missing shortly after discovery) and even received a small award of recognition from the Federation. But those days are long gone. Eight years on and Team Rune is old news. These formerly rising stars, after several blundering mistakes, fell out of the sky and became unpopular with the Federation, leading to their unofficial exile to the far off Colony of Glacefloe, a small bastion of Federation power among the icy wastes and the (rather unflattering) nickname of 'Team Ruin'.

Seven months after arrival and Team Rune have received no orders from the Federation. Bound by the Nanook-Glacefloe Treaty, they cannot leave the boundaries of the town without angering the local Ice-Type tribes who inhabit the lands outside of the town. Frustrated, bored and idle, Team Rune have grown to resent the hand that feeds them and long to expand the frontier of the colonies and become the explorers they were born to be. The arrival of a familiar face in town brings hope to this ideal...
