The Bronco flies down the highway, music pouring it's windows. Inside is a young man with lively eyes and a goonish grin. He wears a cowboy hat and plain T-shirt. On his right arm reads '31st Marines 1965' under a full color tattoo of the USMC logo. He's moving to the southern rock melody, one hand on the wheel the other hanging out the window. He wears what seems to be a college class ring on his right hand, the numbers '72 emblazoned in maroon. The smile slowly slides off his face as he presses down gently on the brakes, his perceptive eyes spotting a abandoned hatchback on the side of the road. He slows to a stop, grabbing the window roller and rapidly rolling it down. He leans out a moment, The Allman brothers escaping into the crisp Montana air. He frown and reaches behind the passenger seat, pulling out an old but well maintained revolver, fully loaded. He cautiously opens the driver door, his honed instincts screaming danger. The young man pulls the hammer back, raising the revolver; approaching slowly. He says loudly and clearly in the direction of the hatchback "Sheriff's Deputy! Are you alright?" His trained eyes scan the hatchback, noticing the bullet holes in the back left tire and along the side of the body. He stops a moment, seeing a bullet hole in the driver window and blood. He swears, moving quickly to the driver window, his senses on high alert. He stops at the window and takes a step back shaking his head and letting out a quiet "Jesus."

A man is in the driver's seat, a bullet in his neck, the window and driver's side painted in his blood. The young deputy looks around for a moment before making his way back to his bronco, the giant blue 'Sheriff' emblazoned on the side of it more apparent than ever. He was off-duty, but apparently duty came looking for him. He reached inside and turned on his radio, lifting it to his face and saying "This is Deputy Bruce Whitehead, I've just discovered a 10-54, how copy?"

The Setting

The year is 1973 and you're a deputy of the Cascade County Sheriff's Department. The U.S. is still recovering from the disaster that was Vietnam and celebrating at their recent victories in the space race. Music is changing, with Rock'n'Roll dominating the market and the seeds of Disco being planted. It is also of a time of learning from our mistakes, the 1 year anniversary of Bloody Sunday being televised around the world. So much happening and with all of that you gotta keep track of the happenings in the 2nd largest county in Montana? Heh, what a life!

A Quick Notice

If for any reason I have to abandon this rp, don't let my leaving stop it from going. Before I go I will set up a magnificent post promoting a new sheriff, moving certain characters around to make the flow of the rp seamless.
