Kers was born and bred for a single purpose. His race was symbiotic to your family. They were strong but in order for the race to survive they formed a pact with the humans. Kers was picked from the litter to be hers. Raise to be a shield to her from the rest of the world. The races ability to mimic a creatures abilities was legendary. Any type of attack once seen could be duplicated. This made the race the perfect protectors against the unknown.

Today was the day they would set out into the world. Your character was a summoner and you would have to find them and defeat them in battle to earn their blessing.

Today was the day that Illiana reached eighteen years of age. She had been looking forward to this day for some time. This day she would finally leave the small sheltered forest haven in which she had been raised. She would finally go out into the world and see all that it had to offer. She could hardly wait!

For the past several years she had grown ever more curious about the outside world. She had read books and asked questions to anyone that would listen. But the information she could find was limited and eventually she had decided that she would have to see it for herself. She was terribly excited but very nervous. She felt relived that Kers would be accompanying her on her travels.

Before they left she rushed about saying her goodbyes and receiving well wishes from all her friends.

Kers was silent and followed his ward as she made her farewell known. The sword on his back was for show most of his attacks were learned from monsters and he hade the skills to adequately protect Illiana from most of the dangers. His speed would be put to the test as she had wings. The dragoon leap would come in handy. There were many dangers on the road and off. The large sack Kers wore would carry all the supplies they would need for the trip. Even with his natural strength Kers would be slower under the weight.

The bag had two sides as one contained food and the other contained the items Illiana would need in her travels. The bag covered the sword nicely hiding all but the handle. Kers carried a light brown cloak more to shelter Illiana from the rain then for his own use. He wore on foot wear or clothes letting the fur breath out of training and modesty for his charge Kers wore a waist cloth. his tail swayed as he walked letting others know of his friendly intentions. His ears where forward and his eyes narrow filtering the light of the day from them. He stayed in the back ground letting the people come and say their farewells to Illiana.

Once Illiana had finished saying goodbye she fluttered over to Kers landing on the dirt beside him. She tucked her wings on her back. She intended to walk beside Kers for the majority of their travels. The tiny summoner looked up at the large anthro, "Are you ready to begin?" She asked cheerfully.

They set out on the forest path that would eventually lead them out and through the mountains. Illiana looked all around them as they walked. She admired the trees, the flowers, a flowing river. All of it was so beautiful. "Thank you for everything," she said after they had walked for some time.

Kers nodded and looked out ahead to the path before them. "I will guard you with my life." A little while later he purred, "You are very welcome." Kers kept close to you his tail barely moved. His eyes and ears moved and let him know the area was safe for his ward. the only thing out here so far was just the two of them. The air was clean and fresh. At one point he purposely bumped into you and smiled. The teeth took all the friendliness out of the gesture but you were use to Kers and his fearsome smile.

She smiled at him in response. "What do you think is beyond the forest?" She asked tilting her head curiously. "Do you think there's really monsters out there?" She was a little apprehensive. She was a skilled summoner but she had never had to fight before.

He nodded. "I know of them and some know of me. I can mimic them and some I can learn from. We should be cautious the further we get from the village." Over head a flock of griffons flew. Kers let the breeze of their wings cool his fur.

The map given to you showed where a few summons could be found but they were far apart and would take days to reach the closest one. It was one of protection a creature that could shield itself from a variety of attacks. It would be vital to the success of your adventures. It was marked at the base of the mountains to the north west in a large cavern said to hold an underground lake.

She nodded watching the Griffins fly overhead. "Well we should try to get to the base of the mountains. There's an underground lake there," she said excitedly. They traveled further through the forest and the trees began to grow sparse. The path becoming rocky the closer they got to the mountains.

Kers looked at your excitement and with a nod he walked side by side. His tail gave away his own anticipation. The rocks became larger and the loose gravel on the trail made your feet feel like you were using more energy for half the distance. The day was getting late. The sun would be setting soon as the sky was becoming darker shads of blue. "Should we make camp or carry on?" The tiger places his large fury paw on your shoulder. "We could rest at the mouth of the cave and continue at first light."
