Chase stands tall at 6'3". He has a chiseled face often adorned with a light shadow. By nature, his dark hair, chin length, is straight but wild, a tangled and frustrating mess when unkempt. Chase has taken to oiling it down with gel and slicking it back, as stiff and neat as it will go. Even then it has been known to fall out of place, a sorry metaphor for his life. He has bright blue eyes, thick eyebrows, and a sharp nose. Chase is physically fit to an extent; his body is decorated with a few scars from his brief run with the Hunters.
Werewolf
Chase's lycan form is a tall, strapping creature, standing about two inches higher than his's human height. It's fur color are various shades of a creamy gold, dulled by overlaying hues of dark brown.
Personality
Chase has a gruff but friendly way to him. He is not easily trusted, though a good deal of it has to do with his job. He can be stubborn to the point where no amount of arguing can make him change his mind (next best solution would be to beat him senseless). He has a calm outer appearance, even when panicking, once again due to his job. Chase displays a good level of independence and leadership in the right situations, but as a man that prefers to stand back and watch events unfold, he will often give the leadership wheel to someone else, opting to work on his own. He's not adverse to partnerships or long standing friendships, but he's found they're hard to come by when you have a secret like his. It doesn't seem like a smart idea, letting just anyone into his personal life. He can be a charmer, and sometimes looses himself to the other pleasures life has to offer before getting back on track. As often as he enjoys friendship, Chase also revels in solitude. In a strange mix between the desire to socialize and the desire to strike out on his own and leave behind any and all problems, his or Santa Somabra's.
As a child, Chase was known as a troublemaker, often sticking his nose where it didn't belong. Even up to today, he's been known to be a bit too inquisitive in places he shouldn't be. His excuse is "it's all a part of the job."
Bio
Born and bred in Santa Somabra, Chase grew up in the rough hands of the city's life. Raised in a middle class family (albeit a struggling one) he counts himself among the blessed in this city, praising his hardworking parents for the ability to provide their children with comfortable housing and food to eat every day.
For as long as Chase can remember, he's been investigating places he shouldn't. The nosey, trouble making child out of himself and his younger brother, he was the leader, neigh the catalyst for any and all adventures taken in childhood. If life was boring, Chase made it exciting. Days with his brother were spent at ease, running around the neighborhood exploring any and all nooks and crannies that were to be explored.
Of course, lot of kids have their rebellious phases. Not all, but Chase was, unfortunately, not among those. For the early part his childhood, he remembers sticking closer to the inner parts of the city. Even his neighborhood was borderline skyscraper (poor people skyscrapers to be exact...so like tall, red brick apartment buildings). Remember all those adventures? They weren't without copious amounts of reprimanding from his parents about the danger of the city and the luck of their two children. But sometimes luck is not enough.
To get straight to the point, a rebellious adventure at fifteen years old to the outskirts of the city left Chase with lycanthropy. Even today, he's not sure why it didn't kill him. He was small, scrawny, killable, edible if we're being frank. Easy prey. But it let him live. Chase likes to think it was an accident. Some poor wild uncontrollable beast out on a rampage. It had probably struck him in its fury and in that same fury, quickly forgotten the poor scraggly boy it had attacked.
He kept it secret for as many months as he could. He would leave home for days to run as a man beast in the emptier parts of the cities. His temper spiked out of control in that time of depression and frustration. And life became a blur, a sad pattern of destruction and blood in the wake of whatever path he took.
In those scary months of isolation, Chase was given an in depth look of the crime world of Santa Somabra, a world that had always loomed over his head. Crime was everywhere; the antics of the various gangs and organizations of Somabra had not escape his or anyone else's notice. But Chase had never experienced it. Adventurous as he was, his parents had kept a tight enough grip on his life to shelter him as much as they could from the very worse. But with some amount of freedom and his new "abilities," the reeking crime life of Santa Somabra began to unravel around him.
For a small while, Chase stayed with the Hunters, living a somewhat vagabond life. During this time he lived a hectic and unhealthy life trying to balance some semblance of normal life with the savage killing sprees of the Hunters. Since leaving he has few, if any real, friends among them.
In time, when he regained control of himself as a human, as an individual with personality and independence, Chase made the conscious decision to become a part of the crime fighting force in Santa Somabra. It seemed stupid and hard, the whole thing, and all the while he worked his way up, he would wonder for what reason he had chosen this life. Not to mention the fact that he seemed like a total hypocrite. No stranger to needless murder, his rise to detective status was almost ironic, if not, subtly corrupt.
There were a variety of reasons he chose this life, some admirable, others not so much. A point to his moral compass for desiring to fight crime, at least to some degree, in Santa Somabra. But there were other benefits. Who would suspect a Santa Somabra detective to be a werewolf?
No one, that's who. Chase does his job admirably enough, sniffing out criminals (both figuratively and literally) to the best of his ability. Its perhaps wrong on his part that his effort will drop to 0% when he believes the criminals aren't worth the pursuing; crime bosses too big for the as of yet comparatively weak (and probably corrupt) SSPD to fight. And he's has his moments. He's no stranger to working with criminals to get what he wants.
But it's all in a day's work anyway.
Other
- Chase lives alone in a surprisingly neat (thanks for the manners mom and dad) one bedroom apartment. The bachelor life is fun, kinda.
- He has two mutts for pets. One big headed pitbull looking brindle pup, and an older black lab mix looking dog. They're illegal in the apartment, but surprisingly quiet, so all is good.
- His brother is the only one that knows about his lycanthropy. His parents still live a blissful life in deceit.

Charlize stands just a little above average at 5'5" tall. As described by Chase, she has "Long blonde hair, short eyelashes, neat eyebrows, medium lips, nose a little on the pointy side, and big, big, blue eyes." Personality
Charlize, or Johanssen as Chase prefers, has undergone very few personality changes since being taken under the werewolf's metaphorical wing, though the add-on traits she's drawn from Chase are noticeable to those who know her well. Her basic moral principles have all stayed the same, and continue to drive Johanssen to her goals today. Johanssen maintains the same sweet and loving personality she had before joining the force. She is a sympathetic kind of gal, who often tries to turn a blind eye to race in favor of offering her condolences to those who want it, and pitying those who need it. Johanssen is cautious, intelligent, and level-headed; always has been. However, time spent with Chase has changed her. As the werewolf detective as taken note of, Johassen has become more feisty, more confrontational. Still, she (and her bravery) have their limits. Unless you're Chase, family, or a beloved significant other, don't expect Johanssen to stick by your side if things get too rough. If you're worth less than them, she'll leave you in the dust, if she know she can't help you. She'll try her best, but once it seems futile, she's out. It seems to contradict her personality, but everyone has their limits and the intelligent woman knows when she reaches her. Bio

Now, how'd she turn?
A gang attack. The Nyte Kyngs. About three months after Johanssen was born. Her mother managed to survive the attack
You can then understand why she tries her very best to be undiscriminating of race. For twelve years, Johanssen grew up in total innocence of her mother's vampirism. And while it surely put a strain on her parent's relationship (who got happily separated when Johanssen was twelve, the year her mother came out to her as a vampire) Johanssen lived a blissful life not knowing what her mother was.
Johanssen's proud to say her parents got along swimmingly in her childhood, affording her the most normal childhood life possible. Twelve years (when they divorced) and onward was rocky for a small while, but her parents kept in touch, and eventually things smoothed themselves out. Johanssen, who ended up living with her father, his sweet new wife, and a half-sibling or two, continued to feel relatively normal. Occasional visits with her mother and frequent phone calls kept their relationship alive and loving. Johanssen passed through all of this without ever batting an eye at the supernatural. Her mother's "condition" remained an undiscussed topic as she grew up, something subtly avoided. Johanssen continued to treat her normally, and big distinctions due to race never arose.
Its the reason she doens't emphasize race. Having a vampire for a biological mother never quite impacted her the way people would probably conventionally believe it would. Her parents ended things when they did at a great time, and their relationship with her stayed smooth, all in all resulting in adult woman with little bitterness to either parent, and little bitterness to the race which caused their seperation.
She tells very few people of her mother, and treats their reactions as blase as possible. Though few is not an exaggeration. Not even Chase knows, and they've become close.
Speaking of Chase.
Johanssen joined the force after college. A fresh undergrad graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology, it became quickly obvious to Johanssen that she could not afford grad school.
The SSPD is sometimes short on staff. The cops around Santa Somabra aren't trusted, and lots of people end up not wanting to be cops either way. It's not worth the gang tussles. A shorthanded staff and a need for intelligent people lead Johanssen straight to the precinct. Physically fit and smart, her application as a detective was quickly accepted. Academy training was sometimes strenuous, having to earn her criminal justice credits and all, but passable. Soon, she found herself as Chase's junior detective.
It caused a bit of upset. There are other cops in the force who work hard with the intention of being granted the right to call themselves detectives. Johanssen's flashy degree, undergrad as it was, was still more than enough to have her fly by cops who had chosen to forgo college in favor of joining the force.
This should be the end of the bio, but her relationship with Chase is worth noting. They've spent nearly a year together, and have come to rely on one another heavily. While still not privy to every detail of each others' lives(vampire mother, Chase being a werewolf), their relationship is building at a steady and healthy pace and Johanssen considers him one of her closest friends. They really are turning into a dynamic duo of sorts, and help to keep each other in check.
Chase likes to compare their relationship to a father-daughter relationship (though sometimes corrects himself), but Johanssen thinks of them more as siblings. She knows somethings up with him, but everyone has their skeletons (the lord knows she does) and so she doesn't pester him about it. If things continue to go well between them, she's sure they'll be spilling secrets to each other soon.
Other
- Johanssen coincidentally lives in the same apartment as Chase, on the same floor as him too, though her apartment is at the end of hall, two doors away from his. They live on the second floor.
- She has her license, but can't afford a car of her own. She kind of wishes her mom would be merciful and loan her the money for one, but she's not about to ask.
- From her father's side (her paternal grandmother), Johanssen is 1/4th nymph. What this denotes for Johanssen is the ability to charm people. The supernatural charm is perhaps not as severally magical as a pureblooded nymph. The charm is not, like, a lusty, sort of seductive thing, but instead she is just charming. It does, however, work better on those who are attracted to her gender. People, weather they find her attractive or otherwise, find her presence to be calming as well as uplifting. It can cause weird affects, essentially on people who hate or are fighting her; they would feel somewhat compelled to like her, whilst also wanting to kill her, forming conflicting emotions. It can also produced weird feelings in those who are already negatively emotionally compromised; feelings of anger, and sadness can turn into confused frustration as the client to her supernatural charm tries to fight off the urge to be clam, happy, and enchanted with her. This charm, however, is clearly a part of the reason Chase gravitates to Johanssen so much. He keeps her calm and levelheaded.

Intelligent, friendly, and cautious. Subject displays a well developed intellect, but is sometimes overly cautious and more reluctant to engage in risk taking. Micheal Maximilian - A popular Democratic politician from New York, Mike serves as a Senator the U.S government. Having originally grown up in a low middle class family, Micheal strove to provide his children with opportunities he had lacked as a child. This meant that all of his children were spoiled with opportunity that children lower than upper class would have, typically, not been presented with. Mike is also highly religious; it would seem to be contradictory to his party, but people seem to forget you can be religious and believe in gay rights and abortion at the same time.
Jennifer Maximilian - Jennifer is a self proclaimed Republican grown Democrat, and a well re-known lawyer. Having lived a relatively poor (economic status) Republican life, college changed Jenn, for maybe what some what call the better. It pushed her to finally join a party whose belief fell more in line with those values which she had held growing up. In fact, being a relatively liberal republican family, her parents only reason for remaining Republican fell in line with their religious beliefs. While Jennifer is religious, she, like her husband, approves of gay rights and abortion, as well as greater representation for women. She has imparted many of these belief on her eldest daughter, Spencer.
Leslie Maxmimilian - Spencer's tall, precocious, younger sister. Like Spencer, she is mature and well thought, but privileged and restricted in other ways. She, like her parents, is more focused on politics. Relationship with Host: Damian and Spencer seem to get along at an average rate. Their relationship is comparable to that of a rocky friendship, and Spencer sometimes has trouble envisioning Damian as a glowing orb in her vision, instead sometimes only seeing a low sliver of green light where his orb would be. Like Spencer, Damian is pragmatic, meaning that he also tends to think things over, and they work together well enough. Disagreements, while they don't often elevate to a terrible level (both Spencer and Damian are too afraid of the pain) are often the end of them working together and can make experiments and the like (in which the two are required to work together) infinitely more difficult as the two stubborn consciousnesses come to a standstill. Damian also occasionally messes with Spencer's real life, claiming to be "protective" of her.
It's worth noting that the two of them had a great relationship in Spencer's childhood, but things changed when Spencer recognized that the being, who was at the time called "Angel" was abnormal, and their relationship quickly decreased in quality.
Personality: Damian is, like Spencer, pragmatic. He's not quite as intelligent, and actually maintained the image of being bored in school. In fact, when Spencer was asked to grade Damian, she rated him with average intelligence. Damian seems to have a cheery personality, but his opinions sometimes differ from Spencer and that can cause rifts between the two. Spencer has claimed that Damian sometimes seems naive and blindly traditional, claiming that he is not very well versed in the world around him. Damian, on the other hand, believes that Spencer thinks she's too grown up, though she is very much on the brink of being, neigh is, an adult. Damian can be overly protective, to the point of being annoying to Spencer. He has quite expressed an enjoyment of video games, and prefers relaxing and listening to music as opposed to investing himself in creative talents themselves. He's quite the accomplished mathematician, and it is suspected that Spencer's outstanding grades in Math may have been on his behalf.

Since then, life in Thunderclan has been both a pleasure and hardship for Snowpaw. Description:
A beautiful, smooth coated, ginger brown she-cat. Sandfire has a splash of white running from her chin to just over a small portion of her neck. Her body is wiry and lithe; she is clearly made for running, and swift, retreating attacks. Sandfire's slim frame often makes hunting under the cover of the bushes plausible and easy for the young she-cat. Her inquisitive eyes are a full, rich, green in color. She is a long legged she-cat, and aside from running, her other greatest strength lies in her ability to make long leaps. Another cat would easily notice the similarities in leg length between her and her brother Bravefeather.

Description:
Sandfire has an adventurous but caring personality. While she wishes to be able to run freely and carelessly through the Thunderclan's forest, she's extremely dedicated to her Clan, and performs her duties to the best of her ability. Unfortunately, she can be blinded to the hardships that worse adventures (like long journeys) can be composed of, and would be that she-cat who would throw herself at the opportunity to explore beyond the borders of Thunderclan. She has a fiery, snappish temperament, and has a hard time with other cats who challenge her beliefs. However, she is also an extremely loyal and dedicated friend, and will defend those she cares about with words as well as with tooth and claw. Sandfire respects the laws of the Clans, and while she doesn't show it outwardly, she harbors some doubt for half-Clan cats such as Snowpaw. There's not much to say about Sandfire. Having been born within Thunderclan, she has grown up in a very average Thunderclan cat life. The forests of her Clan and the scent of her Clanmates is all she has ever known, and perhaps can explain so clearly her desire for something more than just Thunderclan.
The only significant happening in Sandfire's life was that, as apprentices, she and her brother Bravefeather (then Bravepaw) ventured out to the barn and were confronted with horses. While the gentle giants never harmed either cat, the apprentices had been so shocked by the appearance of the creatures in the field, and the speed at which they were going, that developed a horrific fear of them.

The one commonality between Sandfire and Braveheart (beside their rich green eyes, which are almost identical) are their long, muscular legs. Like Sandfire, Braveheart is capable of taking long leaps, though he is not nearly as graceful as his sister.

Contrary to the implication of his size and prowess, Bravefeather is actually a mellow and docile tom, and a great friend to many Clan cats. Unlike his sister, he is known for being a cat easy to discuss problems and all else with, and makes for a fine friend when there's nothing to talk about. Bravefeather also does well with apprentices, and particularly kits, and spends a great deal of time humoring little ones. Bravefeather is a big supporter of Hawkstar, the Clan's leader, and draws inspiration from the big tom.

Being eleven, and only just entering puberty, she's still got the telltale signs of prepubescence in awkward proportions and the generically weird features that children tend to have when they begin to go from child to teenager. However, as with all people, she's still got basic features that will stay the same through most of her life. Ishwarya has a flat, angled, face, with low cheekbones and pronounced edges. Her dark almost black eyes are large and round, complimented by neat arching eyebrows, and are usually the first thing people see (typically because they look so worried or frightened upon introduction). She's got a small button nose, and her lips are medium in size. As mentioned before, Ishwarya is gangly, and her body often reflects the type of one who was meant to be a runner, being small and streamlined. However, Ishwarya's overall appearance may make some think of her as fragile or breakable.

Copper, more commonly referred to as Penny on the rails, is a tough and stubborn Half-Orc. Tough in the sense that Copper is used to tragedy in his life; and while more tragedy may hurt him internally, he strives to maintain the outer composure of someone who is unaffected. Only those who become truly close to Copper get to see beneath the tough guy visage, to the person who is lonely and hurt. Copper can also be stubborn, but it is only to a point. If he sets his mind to something, he will persist until it seems futile to do so.
Copper is friendly and handsome ("for a Half-Orc" as people like to say), and is naturally able to put people at ease with his presence. He makes friends well enough, though he and trust have never been great bedfellows. Though friendly, he can sometimes appear distant. Not in a cold way. Rather, he may appear hesitant to engage in raucous behavior, or intrude upon what he believes to be somebody else's moment. He will stand by the sidelines and out of the limelight. This hesitance can sometimes pan him off as an awkward character, and can cause him to come off as confusing to people who have seen both his friendly and hesitant side.

Puberty was when things started taking a turn for the worse. Copper's ears had always been passable as a child; people assumed that he had received a normal genetic quirk and nothing more. But things started getting fishy when, at puberty, sharp tusks began to protrude from Copper's lower jaw. It was difficult, thereafter, to maintain a human disguise, and Copper chose to drop out of school.
Now, jobless and with a lesser education, he has chosen to pursue a fresh lease on life on the rails. He hopes to weasel his way to the high ups, become a lapdog of sorts for them. Already, he has a nickname. People have taken to calling him Penny, since copper's what pennies are being made out of now-a-days. Copper loathes it, since he believes it sounds to feminine. At the end of the day, however, he would much rather tolerate it than face the prejudice and ignorance of his fellow workers. Anything to make them tolerate him is good enough.
The good thing is, not everyone's a bigoted douche, and Copper's found that quite a few people genuinely find him to be a good human being. Considering the notions that exist with half of his kind, he finds these people intelligent and refreshing and seeks their company as often as possible.

Skipping over the gory details, I was born.

Born in the very heart of Gotham, among the the lowest of the low. Gotham is a beautiful city. Beautiful in it's ugly ways, and unique people, beautiful in a way that is disgustingly opposite from, say, New York, or Los Angelos.
Rex hid me, like he hid all the others. I have siblings I didn't even know I had. Up till today, I'm sure I have brothers and sisters eons younger than I am; the drooling toddlers and rebellious pre-teens born to mother's like mine, mothers who still don't have those three special words in their vocabulary. Or that controversial fourth, that life-saver for all underage sexually active sillies out there.
I'm sure mom was his favorite; I was his favorite daughter, after all. I was most certainly not the oldest of his multi-mothered group, but his heir, nonetheless. I'm not sure what he saw in me. His green eyes, his high cheekbones, his real black hair, so rare among white people.
His personality? I was a tough cookie growing up. The kind of kid who fell of her bike, scrapped an inch of skin off her knee, and got right back up on that damn bike and kept going.
Rex gave me everything a little girl could ever want. I got all the girl toys and all the boy toys. Barbie would be in my left hand, G.I. Joe in my right. I learned how to shoot a BB when I was six, and played with lion cubs when I was ten (because Rex loved to collect his exotic animals; power freaks love that kind of thing).
I learned how to fight. This was oh-so important to Rex. It's not something that started in late childhood, either. It was something that Rex started my life with. It was the cornerstone for the skills I have today, the reason I live such a prosperous life right now. All I know now is derived from everything I knew then, skills I had to refine myself because I didn't have the money to afford the lessons I needed.
When you live like my father did, you live with the metaphorical knife to your back all the time. It's not something I would wish on my worst enemy, and is one of the capital reasons I stay out of organized crime. Sometimes the knife prods harder, others times it nearly disappears. You get months of rest and relaxation, where you believe you've shaken off all the competitors. And then someone new and fresh crops up, and it's a new game, same reward. You worry about your family disappearing at night, and if you're smart, you won't have a family.
And Rex didn't have a family. As far as he was concerned, me and mom didn't exist in the sphere of his elite set of like minded, crime executing competitors. But word always get out. Some worm from the inside always spills the beans. And he knew that.
So, he gave his favorite daughter self-defense training. He took what he must have thought was special precautions, warding away the threat of death to myself and mom. He molded me into a small soldier, his little fighter. When I was a kid, I was so talented, I used to fancy myself invincible. Looking back on it now, Rex took lots of unseen steps to keep us safe. His people would be in the shadows, silent guards for his precious possessions (because, I mean, mom was his possession, not his girlfriend, or anything like that.) It made sense. If with self-defense training, any person bigger than I was would have been able to overpower me. I was a kid. I wasn't brave enough, or strong enough, to kill somebody, if anybody threatened me.
We also got lucky. People get lucky all the time. If I was being frank, which I am, my life has been one big stroke of good luck.
So here I was, his little karate chopping angel, living a great life, living an opulent life. I stayed in a shitty two story apartment for ten years, but I ate like a fat-ass, and dressed like a princess.
And then, mom killed herself.
Up till today, I struggle to understand why.
She had everything. She had the best clothes in the apartment, the shiniest rings and flashiest bags. At any given moment, she would have had, had at least a hundred dollars in her purse.
And she loved me. I really thought she did. Everything in the way she moved said it. Her smile in the mornings before school, her warm embrace in the afternoon after a hard day of learning math. She put her soul into making me happy. And kids are supposed to be the very epitome of happiness, right?
But she wasn't happy.
Personally, I think it was the unacknowledged elephant in the room. Mom had a wicked drug addiction. She would quit for a little while, developing these heavy dark bags under her eyes from the pressure of resisting. Then she would hop right back on the same horse, go in for the same ride. Rex never tried to stop her. Her drug addiction wasn't his problem.
With mom gone, 'Dad' fell off the face of the planet, and with him went my only source of living income. I was removed from our home of ten years and placed into the cold, callous hands of the shitty foster care system.

Dear old dad did what he did and got what he wanted. And when he wanted women, my mother's hourglass figure and heavy red lips answered his call. I guess the words 'contraception' and 'protection' and 'condom' were non-existent in pre-twenty-first century lingo.
But, you know, how does a church girl get that sultry, anyway?
Skipping over the gory details, I was born.

Born in the very heart of Gotham, among the the lowest of the low. Gotham is a beautiful city. Beautiful in it's ugly ways, and unique people, beautiful in a way that is disgustingly opposite from, say, New York, or Los Angelos.
Rex hid me, like he hid all the others. I have siblings I didn't even know I had. Up till today, I'm sure I have brothers and sisters eons younger than I am; the drooling toddlers and rebellious pre-teens born to mother's like mine, mothers who still don't have those three special words in their vocabulary. Or that controversial fourth, that life-saver for all underage sexually active sillies out there.
I'm sure mom was his favorite; I was his favorite daughter, after all. I was most certainly not the oldest of his multi-mothered group, but his heir, nonetheless. I'm not sure what he saw in me. His green eyes, his high cheekbones, his real black hair, so rare among white people.
His personality? I was a tough cookie growing up. The kind of kid who fell of her bike, scrapped an inch of skin off her knee, and got right back up on that damn bike and kept going.
Rex gave me everything a little girl could ever want. I got all the girl toys and all the boy toys. Barbie would be in my left hand, G.I. Joe in my right. I learned how to shoot a BB when I was six, and played with lion cubs when I was ten (because Rex loved to collect his exotic animals; power freaks love that kind of thing).
I learned how to fight. This was oh-so important to Rex. It's not something that started in late childhood, either. It was something that Rex started my life with. It was the cornerstone for the skills I have today, the reason I live such a prosperous life right now. All I know now is derived from everything I knew then, skills I had to refine myself because I didn't have the money to afford the lessons I needed.
When you live like my father did, you live with the metaphorical knife to your back all the time. It's not something I would wish on my worst enemy, and is one of the capital reasons I stay out of organized crime. Sometimes the knife prods harder, others times it nearly disappears. You get months of rest and relaxation, where you believe you've shaken off all the competitors. And then someone new and fresh crops up, and it's a new game, same reward. You worry about your family disappearing at night, and if you're smart, you won't have a family.
And Rex didn't have a family. As far as he was concerned, me and mom didn't exist in the sphere of his elite set of like minded, crime executing competitors. But word always get out. Some worm from the inside always spills the beans. And he knew that.
So, he gave his favorite daughter self-defense training. He took what he must have thought was special precautions, warding away the threat of death to myself and mom. He molded me into a small soldier, his little fighter. When I was a kid, I was so talented, I used to fancy myself invincible. Looking back on it now, Rex took lots of unseen steps to keep us safe. His people would be in the shadows, silent guards for his precious possessions (because, I mean, mom was his possession, not his girlfriend, or anything like that.) It made sense. If with self-defense training, any person bigger than I was would have been able to overpower me. I was a kid. I wasn't brave enough, or strong enough, to kill somebody, if anybody threatened me.
We also got lucky. People get lucky all the time. If I was being frank, which I am, my life has been one big stroke of good luck.
So here I was, his little karate chopping angel, living a great life, living an opulent life. I stayed in a shitty two story apartment for ten years, but I ate like a fat-ass, and dressed like a princess.
And then, mom killed herself.
Up till today, I struggle to understand why.
She had everything. She had the best clothes in the apartment, the shiniest rings and flashiest bags. At any given moment, she would have had, had at least a hundred dollars in her purse.
And she loved me. I really thought she did. Everything in the way she moved said it. Her smile in the mornings before school, her warm embrace in the afternoon after a hard day of learning math. She put her soul into making me happy. And kids are supposed to be the very epitome of happiness, right?
But she wasn't happy.
Personally, I think it was the unacknowledged elephant in the room. Mom had a wicked drug addiction. She would quit for a little while, developing these heavy dark bags under her eyes from the pressure of resisting. Then she would hop right back on the same horse, go in for the same ride. Rex never tried to stop her. Her drug addiction wasn't his problem.
With mom gone, 'Dad' fell off the face of the planet, and with him went my only source of living income. I was removed from our home of ten years and placed into the cold, callous hands of the shitty foster care system.
Foster care.
What a joke.
I stole A LOT as a kid. I steal a lot today.
Some of my foster families couldn't take care of their own kids, much less a bunch a raggedy orphans. And, mind you, many of them were provided with funds specifically to be used for their foster children, but squandered away on personal interests and biological family needs.
So I stole what I could, because how else would I survive? I became lithe and acrobatic, lean and stealthy, always looking for the opportunity to take what I could take, and have what I wanted.

But then you see him. You really see him.

I sometimes had a job, and sometimes didn't. I wasn't particularly level-headed, and needless cat fights between myself and fellow employees weren't unheard of. I got fired a lot, and ended up sleeping with all the other vagabonds more times than I have fingers.
Imagine that on repeat for an entire year. That was my 2001.

My fighting...is not to the books. I don't have particular move sets like Batman. Everything I have has been created by me, to suit me.
I wasn't Batman. I didn't have a body too big for my head, packed to its brim with muscles. But, I was lean, flexible.
I like to fancy the idea that I can do the roof-hopping thing a helluva a lot better than he can, and live doing only cartwheels for the rest of my life.
And I could (can) steal. Oh boy. I had it perfected by 2002. I could slip a cell phone from a man's hand in broad daylight and snatch a purse from an unsuspecting lady without ever being seen. I pilfered houses and stores, and even tried my luck with a bank one night (and failed; I didn't have the equipment for that kind of thing yet). Props to me for trying.
I also discovered my deep passion for helping kids and women more deprived than I was.
Because, I mean, who do you think I see in them?
That is how I spent the next two years of my life. I wasn't Catwoman, not at the time, and I didn't carry with myself enough confidence or power to do something about the thousands of girls and women who suffered daily in Gotham. But I tried. I stole, both for myself, and for a sector of people who needed it as much as, if not more, than I did.

"Catwoman" wasn't made up by me. Some clever guy in the Gotham Times coined the term first, and I took it for myself. By that time, I was used to taking everything for myself. I built a woman around the name, created a suit to match the title. And I loved cats too. It was a sweet coincidence. I had, maybe, five, by then? It's ballooned out of control by now.
I am the queen of cat burglars, if I do say so myself. Unmatched in what I do. I like to consider it a form of self-employment. It makes it sound less...scummy?
I didn't interfere with the superhero world when I donned my cat mask. The superhero world decided to interfere with me.
I guess I have a bit of a reputation now. I'm at place of fame and notoriety that I never dreamed I would be at.
Batman is a nice guy. He never lets me off the hook. He's always trying to convert me.
"Do the right thing, Catwoman."
Pfft.
In case he hasn't noticed yet, stealing is my life. It's the reason I can afford my luxurious apartment, the reason I can keep twenty cats and never go low on kitty litter or cat food. Stealing has given me everything I have today, has allowed me to live a life, that, otherwise, would have been impossible. I attend parties for the rich and sleep with people who could pay my bills for the rest of my life. Unless batface can offer me a equally decked out alternative...I'm not about to "do the right thing."
Besides, I have some redeeming qualities. North Gotham is my playground. My people live there. The ladies here live under my watchful eyes. They feel safe and protected around me, and who would blame them, when I have my whip noosed around the neck of any person that dares to harm them. I'm not always successful; it would be a stroke of good luck for me to save every girl I ever encountered. I'm too young, and I know it, even if I don't always acknowledge it.
I live my life of luxury and help my type of people. I'm content. Batman can go stick his nose up someone else's ass.

Selina is young. What semblance of a privileged life that she did have was stripped from her when she was ten. The subsequent eleven years were spent in poverty and, frequently, desperation. What would you do, if you realized you could do something?
So, yes, she is young, and she is naive, and she is selfish. The world is ripe for her picking, and as far as she considers it, she doesn't have to share with everyone. As a result, to say she desires to help superheroes in any way is a long shot. She works on a 'me' agenda, where her well-being comes first and foremost, with the only exceptions being children and other similarly young and deprived women, both of which she has tender spots for.
It could also be said that she feels safe in her present position. Vigilantes can deal with the world's people and the world's problems.

The real Ava is smart, gentle, laid back, and sweet-tempered. Overall, this Ava is rather attractive, both in appearance and personality. This Ava shines best when she is with her trusted friends. Ava believes strongly the power of relationships, be it romantic or platonic, and so, with those she views as being 'close' to, she is extremely kind, gentle, caring, and loving. She will go out of her way to help these people in whatever way she can, even taking time out of her own personal time to attend to the needs of those she truly feels close with. Because she has such a laid-back personality, her friends enjoy hanging around with her. She provides a sense of familiarity and comfort to those whose bonds are the strongest with her. In turn, she tends to feel the same away about those people, believing they provide her with the same things she offers them.

While she will certainly not stand for deplorable things happening to people, including people she doesn't like, if she has no choice, or feels it would needlessly put her, of the lives of her loved ones, in danger, she tends to abandon the situation. This often throws her into conflict, as she has a relatively 'good' moral compass. She's just trying to take the most logical route, and if that route says she's gotta let things be, that there is no other option, she'll let things be. But rest assured, she will look for the other option, and she'll look hard, before she gives up.
Hobbies/Interests:
Most prominently, Ava sculpts and draws. These hobbies help to refine the creation of the many personas she has made for herself, some of which are in use, others of which remain dormant. Those she reserves for what she believes to be the inevitable perfect future opportunities. It can be a little unsettling for some to enter the sculpture room, where most of Ava's sculptures reside. The detail and realism can throw people off, though Ava finds them to be quite beautiful. The characters personalities are often reflected in the positions they are sculpted in, and the faces they are making. Little details are usually scribble on hastily painted outlines.

Ava was born to what some would call an oddball family. Both her parents were standouts in the backgrounds they came from. Her father, a mostly Indo-Caribbean man with some Latino and African ancestry, was the first of his brood of siblings to strike out from their cozy home in the Caribbean and attempt to make a living within the star spangled borders of the United States of America. He earned the equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business in his home country, then migrated to America, and went on to become a seven day taxi driver. Here was the point in his life at which he lost most of his faith, and stoutly turned his back on religion. He has, subsequently, only rarely returned to the Caribbean, and Ava is unfamiliar with most of her relatives.
Ava's mother, Aaina, a, at the time and the age, relatively attractive Egyptian woman ran away from her parents. Having lost her faith much earlier than her husband (and coming from an Islamic background), Ava's mother hailed from a strict and abusive family. Her choices within Egypt were limited, and, at her first chance, she fled her home country. What Ava's parents had in common was nothing; what Ava's mother desires was a greencard. And what Ava's depressed, sex deprived father desired was a companion.
Cue their marriage and welcome into the world, Ava, firstborn of the Singh family.
Ava expressed her powers from a very early age. They're assumed by her parents to have manifested around the age of five, where her two siblings would often been the suspicious culprits of all, if not, most, of Ava's crimes. Her ability to change the structure of her appearance was clearly an innate and complicated one; so complicated, it seems almost unfeasible for a baby, as Ava was, to be capable of executing such meticulous changes in appearance. And yet she did; she similarly displayed a high level of cunning (not unusual for children at that age), and was quick to peg off self-created problems on her sisters.
Of course, she eventually grew out of this (for a brief period of time), with her parents stern and meticulous reprimanding of her wrongs. Ava was almost immediately enrolled into The Academy Program, which she, for the most part, loathed. Which, was not unusual. She found other students to sympathize with, other students, who, like her, disdained being enrolled in a program where their difference from the rest of the world was so highly emphasized. And so began Ava's desire to prove her good behavior to her parents.
It took years. And entire chunk of her childhood flew by within the Program. Of course, that isn't to say she hated every second of every minutes she was enrolled in what she called the Academy of freaks. There were the good days and the bad days, the ups and the downs. Ava, as any other normally social child is prone to do, made friends, established strong bonds, grew up with people to hang out with and have fun. It's just, the latent desire to attend 'regular' school stayed with her for most of this period.
Ava transferred to a regular public school when she would have been in her second year of high school. Her parents had deemed her behavior controllable enough that they had less of a fear of her wielding her powers for ungodly reasons. Public high school was a defining period in Ava's life. While she had been exposed to all sorts of characters previously, high school was where her adult personality developed, molded by friends, foes, and experiences.
Ava had been relatively aromantic as a child. "Crushes" for some reason, had just not been an integral part of twelve year old Ava's life. Fast forward to high school Ava, and crushes seemed to change her world forever. Ava's sexuality bloomed, for one reason or another, in high school. She had her first male crush, and then subsequently discovered she was bisexual with a female crush that just would not go away. Her bisexuality marks a pointedly depressed phase in her life, where she often came into internal conflict with herself about what was 'right' and 'wrong'.
Ava proceeded to then be a very average student in school, having to juggle with her, her oddball sexuality, the pressure of classes, and the strain of what seemed to be her parents impending divorce. It was at this point of her life that Ava, for the first time, clearly saw the discordance in her parents relationship. The strained effort that went into them getting along with each other, the frequent fights, and weeks of a lack of communications.
Ava's parents relationship problems culminated in a divorce, which ripped her family apart. She end up in primary custody of her mother; occasionally, she and her siblings would spend weekends with her father. She counts it as one of the most stressful period of her life.
Seventeen year old, Ava, however, didn't retreat into a shell. Here marks the somewhat punk, somewhat wild, phase of her life. She became a jack of all trades, using her powers in less than positive ways. She went drinking when she really shouldn't have, and slept with good looking and decent men who would have freaked the fuck out had they known the age of the girl they were sleeping with. She spend a copious amount of time in the Las Palmas Strip, becoming familiar with its people and its culture. She also developed strong, strong bonds with other girls, bonds whose effect are prevalent on her life today.
Senior year of high school, she cleaned her act up as best as possible. Maintaining a continuously average grade, and graduating at the median of her class, Ava considered returning to the Academy to pursue a college education there. It certainly seemed easier, more relaxing, for tired Ava, who was quickly coming upon the full swing of stressful, young adulthood.
Ava pursued a double major in Art and English. Her powers had imparted on her and liking for creativity, and besides that, those had been the fields she excelled in. She choose to attend school at the Academy, but pursued a social life outside of the Program, opting to pursue mostly non-meta relationships. She toyed with polygamy, and while settling with preference for monogamous pairings, has been known to engage in occasional multi-people relationships.
She lives a double life. She works as an editor for the local newspaper (not what she thought she would be), and is slowly building her way up in her job. On the flip coin, she works as a stripper for a club in Las Palmas Strip. The stripper is under the guise of a completely different appearance and name, effectively keeping both her identities separate and without conflict.
Due to the location of her less "decent" job, Ava has had plenty of encounters with the local prostitutes, and fellow strippers, all of whom she tends to look upon with affection.

Ava's power are...complicated. At its surface, the most basic explanation of Ava's powers is the ability to change her appearance, within the realm of relatively humanoid features. For instance, Ava cannot so extremely morph the anatomy of her skeleton to say, turn into a wolf, or panther. She can grow an unseemly amount of hair (and, inversely, become hairless), but she cannot change too extremely the basic anatomy of her body. Ava can mess with the expression of her genes, though not with her basic makeup. She can change and maintain the form of something else; she is able to imitate the form of another person (but must have meticulous references of them to get a person down perfectly), and conversely is able to create her own human, from features she chooses to mix. These self-created works of art are sculpted by her imagination, and are often times much easier for her to remember than the imitation of another human being. She is able to manipulate the melanin levels of her skin, resulting in the ability to change the pigmentation of her skin.
She can also, to a very limited point, change the function, or form of some of her body parts. She can create half-formed claws, though the proteins are distinctly different from those found in animals with claws, and therefore make her claws less durable than those found within animals to whom claws are natural. She can manipulate her reproductive organs, and create an imitation of the male reproductive system. She can produce gills, and to some extend, webbed feet. However, the function of either is...negligible, since at any given time, they're prone to not working. The more distant she get from basic mammal or human features, the more difficult it becomes for her to manipulate the ones she has. She can also change the shape of her teeth, though she claims this to be one of the most painful of all things to transform.

(so for instance, her body can be composed 160% cells). Beyond that stresses her body, and the farther you get, the more she risks ashing.
Ava has to become fit through hard work; she's had to do her own body building. She cannot, with her biological manipulation, produce a body that is more muscular than the one she already has. When taking on the guise of a male, her cells can only produce the male equivalent of the percentage of the muscle mass she had as a female. During these psuedo male transformations, her testosterone is pumped up, she gets a minuscule amount of added muscle mass. This can make it difficult to impersonate people that are too much bigger (in either wide or height) than she is.
Her manipulations are not perfect, except for those self-created ones, and even then, she may mess. As previously mentioned, in order to form a near exact replicate of another human, she must have meticulous references of them. Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
The greatest weakness to Ava's power is the amount of pain she experiences during transformations. This pain can vary with the extent of the transformation. For instance, the changing of pigment color is usually not painful. But the reorganizing of facial bone structures can cause her a significant amount of pain, and full body transformation can be cringe worth depending on the extent that the body's cells are multiplying. The most painful things are teeth, and a transformation into a more masculine body. This varying severity of the pain often make Ava restrict her transformations to private rooms, where people cannot take her by surprise.
