Avery allowed her backpack to drop on the floor as she opened the door to her new dorm room. It was sizeable, with two beds on either side of the room. She was informed beforehand that there was a communal bathroom in every floor - their room was in the third - but a supernatural could request a private one if they needed it. Avery highly doubted that she would need it. Plus, just the thought of all the chaos and mischief she could do in a communal bathroom was enough to bring an almost devilish grin to her lips. That had been the reason why she'd chosen the public university over all the other private supernatural-only universities her parents had thrust in her face.

Another upside that public universities had was the fact that she'd have a roommate. She knew how horribly the experience could go, but she was determined to make it horrible for the other party should it happen. She hoped it didn't. She wasn't exactly in the mood to deal with the paperwork necessary should her roommate file for a change.

She shook herself from her thought and dragged her bag over to the middle of the room. "Which one to claim?" she asked herself as she eyed the beds. There was a certain level of privacy afforded by the right side, but Avery hated that it was so far from the door. She could already imagine herself coming into the room and landing face first onto the floor because her bed was too far away. She tossed the bag to the left bed. The rest of her things would arrive soon, and hopefully would her roommate. She sat down on the bed, her back resting on the headboard, before blasting heavy metal Japanese music from her phone. She could feel it in her bones. Her college experience would be a blast.

Lena walked down the hall, a rucksack on her back. She could hear loud music from down the hall.
Please don't be my room, She thought as she checked the numbers, eventually finding the number the bored attendant had given her. Lena could hear the heavy guitar's playing from inside.
"Crap," she muttered.
All she wanted was someone who wouldn't disturb her whilst she studied, someone who wouldn't talk to her and try and become, dare she say it, friends. She let out a sigh, giving herself a few seconds to calm herself, before taking the handle and pushing the door open.

The door opened with a light creak, and Avery peered over to the side to see who'd arrived. A dark haired girl with blue eyes. Avery tried to sense if she were a supernatural, momentarily forgetting that the university had assigned supernaturals with non-supernaturals. Shaking her head slightly at herself, she stood from the bed and approached her new roommate.

"Took you long enough," she said in lieu of a greeting, raising her voice enough so that she could be heard over the loud music. "You're taking the right side. The name's Avery by the way." She held out her hand, the grin forming on her face wide enough that her canines glinted under the light.

Lena stared at the hands for a few seconds, not sure what to do. She eventually took hold of it and gave it one shake, before walking over to the right bed and duping her bag on it. She quickly began to sort through the contents, taking a few treasured items out, including a Rubik's Cube, a small snowglobe, and finally, very carefully and slowly, a small piece of string with a piece of carved bone attached to it. She placed them neatly on the bedside cabinet, not saying a word throughout the whole thing.

Avery arched a brow at the way her roommate was acting. She was so quiet that if Avery didn't look, it'd almost be like she was alone in the room. Frowning, she turned off the music and slid next to the other girl. If her roommate was going to be boring, then she'd annoy the hell out of her until she finally moved out. She eyed the items Lena had taken out. The first two were boring, much like their owner, but the last one intrigued Avery. She felt the fox inside her itch to snatch the item and keep it to herself - both to add to her collection and to spite the brunette. Her hands twitched in anticipation and she buried them in her pockets.

She turned back to Lena, tilting her head slightly to get another angle on her roommate. "Kinda rude to not talk when someone's talking to you, you know. I mean, you didn't even tell me your name." She shrugged as she sat down on her roommate's bed. "Bad things happen to rude people," she reminded with a shrug before looking up at Lena and grinning, her eyes turning fox-like and her pupils narrowing.

Lena looked over at her. She noticed the fox like eyes, and the way that Avery was smiling.
"My name is Selena. You can call me Lena," She said, before sorting out a few clothes that she had brought.
She spent a few seconds over at the wardrobe before she put the bag in the corner. She turned back to Avery.
"I'm sorry that I'm not very talkative. I'm not trying to be rude. I just don't connect with people easily. Though, you're not fully human. You're a kitsune," She said after a while.

"Lena," Avery purred as she leaned back on the bed. She turned on her side to continue watching Lena, grinning all the while. "Beautiful name."

The grin widened when she heard her roommate name her after one try. Of course, her eyes had been hint enough, but she had to give credit to the girl. Most other non-supernaturals would have simply gaped or freaked out which hindered their ability to think properly. This girl, though, seemed to not be that affected. And she knew. "Then you should be able to connect with me with no problem," she replied, eyes twinkling with barely contained mirth.

She sat back up and clasped the other girl's shoulders. "How 'bout we go out and get to know each other some more?" She felt that Lena wouldn't be easy to convinced, so she added, "If you say no, I'll just pester you until you finally relent."

Lena mulled it over for a while. Maybe I should. Mum did say I should socialise more, she thought to herself. Eventually let out a sigh, looking up to the sky as if she was asking for a blessing.
"Fine, we'll go out. But only one condition. I study a lot, and when I do, I don't like distractions. So no being annoying and trying to drag me around to wherever you go," She said, getting up and grabbing her wallet.
She quickly made sure her laces were tied and that everything was in order on her bedside cabinet, before standing next to the door, waiting for Avery.

Avery blinked back at Lena. Well... She hadn't expected an affirmative so easily, but there she had it and Avery wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Once was enough for her to learn. She flashed Lena a bright grin before linking their arms and dragging them out of the room. "No worries," she assured, although the mischievous glint in her eyes said otherwise. "You're still going to be the straight A student after four years. I'll just make you a little more interesting, is all."

Once they made their way out of the building, Avery stopped. She turned to her roommate, dangerous playfulness swirling in her eyes. "Ever been to a bar, sweet cheeks?" She thought of the bar in the downtown area owned by a very accommodating succubus. It had been a place Avery had frequented once or twice before, but never really saw its charm. Now that she was being accompanied by someone who looked every bit like a virginal goddess, that place might prove to be more fun than she'd originally thought. A couple of drinks should hopefully allow the girl to loosen up a bit. It was still early, so Avery could allow Lena to get wasted without worry. That is, if she actually managed to convince the girl to drink.

Lena had been writing in a small notebook as Avery had been talking, not looking up as she said, "Alcohol impairs brain function in both the long and short term. I don't drink."
She continued to write, occasionally chewing on the end of her pencil, before adding more little symbols to the equation she was writing out.
"However, going to a bar does not necessarily dictate drinking, even though it is the social norm, so yes, we can go to a bar," She said, before letting out a happy hum as she finished writing out the formula that took up half the page.

Avery pursed her lips as she looked over at her roommate. She hadn't noticed her scribbling on a notebook, but now that she did she found that the act irked her. Without warning, she swiped the notebook away from Lena and tucked it into her back pocket. She raised her hand up, stopping any complaints before Lena could even open her mouth. "We're out to have fun and socialize. Whatever crap you're writing there, it can wait." She nodded, as if the action would seal her declaration like law.

She shook her head lightly. "Bars and drinking go hand in hand. So, yes, you'll be drinking." She flashed the girl a devilish grin, her eyes shifting fox-like for a split second. It was a form of warning she often used to signify that yes, she would be using her abilities to get what she wanted. She could imagine the gears turning in her head. A little illusion here, a little illusion there. She shrugged and bumped her shoulder with Lena. "I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you. You just need to loosen up, is all."

Lena stared at her as if she was mad (something she was still viewing as a highly likely possibility). She slowly put the pen back in her pocket.
"Don't damage that notebook. I'm not drinking, whatever you say," She said adamantly, folding her arms.
She paused for a moment or two, taking in a breath to calm herself.
"As for 'loosening up', we'll see," She huffed.
