I'm still wondering how I want the attempted self-immolation to go... I don't think he would be seriously hurt due to only having bruises and all from serious attempts, but I think that some more planning is required in my part.

If you don't mind some burn wounds(or scars) I don't really mind about it. You can just do everything to your character but remember that he's immortal :) i think a fast healing should be one of his plus side

Agreed, I'm mainly thinking either the flames fizzle out as soon as they touch his blood or that he just reforms completely from ashes. Dilemmas, dilemmas!

Oooh, what if his immortality's regenerative abilities made it so he only needed a few short hours a day? I think that would add to the depression, but maybe it would be too gloomy?

Sorry for yesterday... I had a huge depressive freak out, and on top of that mom's managed to break her ankle on both sides AND break her tibia this morning. O.o
