Prelude

April 4, X-1013.
In a shine of the moonlight where fireworks are shown grand in the sky. The 13th Hokage Hanami Hyuuga and her beloved pupil and bodyguard/adviser stares at the festival with love and joy. Both of them have black hair, the other appears to be in her early 20's and the other is late.

"Beautiful isn't it? The fireworks. "

"Yeah, Hanami."
"The waterlily festival is the festival I hungered for ever since I was a kid. I used to drag my Father to come to the festival but he only did so once. As he was the clan leader of the Hyuuga, he's repressed in emotions and would always do something productive than chill. But I do recall a the best moment of my life where my dad and mom went out as family in this festival. Thanks for coming with me today Yuri."
"Sheesh. Don't flatter me. We'll see more Lily Festivals after this 5th Ninja War is over. You can count on me, Lady Hokage and you're gonna love it."

Lady Hokage Hanami smiled and laughed; "As always your spirit is always full of joy. Yuri."

The two drink a glass of wine and talked and talked and talked to their hearts content. A solemn moment in the moonlight war of the full moon. She will be loved as the other was loved. Both hoping that they can have moments like this for a lifetime.

7 days later...
Hanami is crying at the sight of corpses in the warzone. "NOOOOO!!!" She shouted seeing Yuri who is beat up, bruised, pierced with needles and swords. Yuri looks at Hanami's face telling her to wipe her tears off. Nobody knows what Yuri said to Hanami that day. That brutal moment is the saddest moment of Hanami's life. Whether or not Yuri is alive, nobody knows.

After that dark and despairing moment. Yet 7 plus 7, 14 days and 14 days come to past as months and days and even years. Exactly fourteen years, Hanami is still the Hokage of the Leaf Village. She is at her room in a wheelchair, looking at scrapbooks about her friends and Yuri.

"Hanami!!" A young lady at the age of 12 glared at her and about to strike her with a Chidori. Lady Hanami yells at her. "DON'T EVER DO THAT KAEDE!" Such presence of Hanami dispelled the Chidori. Reprimanding the young Uchiha, she tells her to put on proper clothes since it's inappropriate and she's wearing.

"Also that weak illusion tricks of yours won't work. What are you hiding behind?" She asked and looked at the young and green eyed Uchiha eye to eye. Silence happened in a flash and "There's nothing to say anymore Old Lady Hanami." She mumbled only to get gentlefisted by Hanami(for fun). "I'm not that old... I'm not..." Hanami fainted due to unknown reasons. "Well you have dark grey h--- Hanami! HANAMI! OI GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!"

She wakes up in her bed which is a mess and covered with a depression environment, scrapbooks, pictures, material objects and seeing all that made her cry like a baby in a river. Fixing all her mess, she picks up her diary and is about to write. However... it's not her diary. "!!!!!!"
She opened the book and knew right away it was Yuri's. There's a locket inside it, showing a picture of Hanami and Hanami's heart aches and opens her own locket with a picture of Yuri. Onto the first page of Yuri's diary.

A long time ago.....



Today's not even that good. I got an annoying Hyuuga on my back and who the heck does she think she is. I don't need a teacher to be promoted to Chuunin!........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

As she reads the diary, memories are recalled.

The 10th Hokage meets Hanami personally and watched the Academy Graduation. A lot of students have shown skills worthy enough to be a Genin. "Any of them interests you?" Lord Hokage asked.

In the grassy fields. A young lady clad in an inappropriate outfit which is a dark bikini, her hair is unkempt and she is aloof. A lot of boys were swooning over her while girls are mocking her. Her opponent is mocking her. "Heh! You have no right to be a ninja if you don't have teamwork and guts. MIKAZUKI!" The student has spiky hair and he attacks with a kunai. It looked like it was a one sided fight considering 8 more students are ganging up on the girl. It looked like they got her but it was a body replacement rigged with an explosive tag. It exploded which separated them. The girl loads her bow with an arrow and each shooting them in order incapacitate her opponents.

"YURI MIKAZUKI!!!!!" All of them yelled. "Ino-Shika-Cho! Mind Boggling Shadow Mountain Coffin!" The Yamanaka boy attempts to take control of Yuri but Yuri knew better, throwing a smoke bomb would render his range useless. The Nara catapults the Akamichi boy who have shadow clones enlarged on Yuri. She successfully dodges them and shoots the Nara with arrows which nailed his hands thus making his shadow possession useless. Yuri simply threw a bag of junkfood which tempted the Akachimi to eat and she ended up putting him to sleep due to the sleeping mixture of the food she prepared. Lastly sealing the arms of the Yamanaka boy by shooting arrows on his hands which disabled him to perform a jutsu.

An Uchiha goes head to toe with Yuri. "I have the sharingan and I can see your movements clearly!" The boy is using a premature sharingan which only has 2 swirls.

"WHO CARES! SEE THIS!" She shows a naked photo of a celebrity which made the boy nosebleed and distracted, ultimately he loses as Yuri swiftly launched an arrow to his knees which made him unable to fight.

Lord Hokage mentions; "What do you know. Yuri is such a dangerous girl, using privacy which serves as a weakness to her peers. Young Uchiha Yoto is a pervert while the current Ino-Shika-Cho trio lacks teamwork for they continue to argue which of them is better, funny how she used food as an attack to the Akimichi. That archery and agile skills of her is something you don't see everyday for a Genin."

She impales an Inuzuka's dog and kicked the Inuzuka right to the face and used "Katon Goukakyuu no jutsu" A common jutsu used by Leaf Citizens on an Aburame, flames so hot that it killed his insects.

Yuri is promoted to Genin.

"SHANNARO! I love winning!"

End of Prologue

Hyuuga Hanami - Choice

Inside the Hokage's office quietly stood a Jounin, meticulously studying the files set before her. There was a set of three, with glossed photographs of each potential student carefully plucked up as their respective file was perused through. At least she was given a choice to pick her students, others oft weren't so fortunate.

Tugging slightly at the Kohona Headband which hung about her neck, she listened to the Hokage describe Yuri, and how troublesome she had been. It were almost as if he were hinting not-so-subtly at which one she was supposed to take.

Seemed like she wasn't going to get a choice after all.

Picking up Yuri's photo one last time, she could not help a slight frown. While each of the three prospects possessed potential, this one certainly was the most trouble. Hanami could only hope the labors she was about to endure would bear fruit, but for now it seemed wise that she remain skeptical.

"I will take on the one which you desire." She softly stated, though clearly. Picking up Yuri's file and beginning to read through it a second time. "I'm sure she will become a keen edge for our village in due time."

"Good day, Hokage." The file snapped shut, and crisply found its place at her side whilst the girl deeply bowed towards her superior. "I will see to it that Yuri is successful; in most of her endeavors, if not all."

Turning on heel, she smoothly strode out the doors, and then in blur of movement accompanied by a puff of smoke, she was tearing across Kohona's skyline. Leaping easily from one rooftop to the next in blindingly quick procession.

Veins suddenly pulsed about her eyes, and within her gaze, a whole new world came into focus. One where she could see for many miles, one where she could gaze upon the flow of chakra in others, and most importantly, one where she could easily find Yuri from a distance.

It did not take long, it never did.

Naturally, there was also trouble afoot. There were a trio of critically injured Children and even a badly injured Dog that were crumpled around the girl. And as she closed the distance, she abruptly stopped before a Medic-Nin while en route. Tapping him on the shoulder, there were only a few quick words that needed to be said.

"Follow me please, there are some injuries that need tending to." With such, the Medic pursued her and it wasquickly thereafter that Hanami was the first to arrive, literally seeming to appear out of thin air right in front of her student.

"Good morning," she began. "It seems as if one of the first lessons I will need to teach you is one of restraint." Pale lavender hues then meticulously studied the girl who stood oppoaite of her intensely. "That, and the necessity of modesty. Especially for one of your age."

Blinking for a second, Hanami then smiled sweetly. "My name is Hyuuga Hanami. And I will be your Jounin instructor. I may be only a few years older than you, but with your trust, and with my guidance, you have the chance to hecome a Ninja that Kohona can be proud of."

Glancing over towards the children the medic was tending to, her gaze smoothly resettled upon Yuri. "It is visible you can outpace your classmates. But let me see what you can do. I am your adversary from here on forward, attack me with your fullest ability."

Mikazuki Yuri

Her name means lily in the moonlight.

Right after effortlessly defeating 9 Genin. She is challenged by a Jounin who is only a few year solder than her and she is her instructor and will be her subordinate from now onward.

Intimidated from the Jounin's presence, she grinds her teeth in a mixture of awe and thrill. "Mikazuki Yuri. I'm just an innocent girl and really though, it's not my fault that they are in a critical state. Their weakness got the better of them and simply the weak will perish and the strong will only emerge as the victor."

It's such a mess for a 12 year old who looks clean on outward appearance but inside her logic is crab mentality. What makes it worse is that she say and act like nothing happened, such girl lacks humility.

Long Shot Dance

"Eh.. what type of an old lady would hurt a child? You surely can't hurt me and I know this is the situation where I have to prove my worth? Oh well...." From the looks of her stance and apart from her obscene outfit which comprises of just a black bikini, bandage wrapping on her left hand, she adds new accessory which is a forehead protector which acts like a neck accessory.

Going back from her stance, she is an archer without a quiver. She unwraps her bandage and her right hand wields the bow as her left hand is the one to fire the arrows. Then she performs the tiger hand seal and moves in fast pace speed.

Mechanics Arrow-less without a quiver to supply arrows. There is a seal sign that is in the middle of her black bow. It says "Arrow". Having such as kill makes her a tactical archer.

She's right in front of her Sensei but she's at the back at the same time. "I have you now." Said Real Yuri in a tree branch(Heh. She doesn't know my front is a fake and it will just act like it's about to punch her while I fire my arrows from her back). She said while standing in a tree branch.

Hanami - Lesson Number One

Arrogance seemed to be abounds in plenty when it came to the Archer, and Hanami's arms folded with an expression that seemed unimpressed at best. Jeering and taunting both would fall on seemingly deaf ears while her expression remained mute.

Once Yuri was finally prepared, Hanami's hands and feet spread slightly, her palms opened into a ready, but relaxed state, and pale eyed girl seemed prepared for her student.

Once the actual Yuri stated what she believed to be her victory, Hanami spoke in turn: "Lesson number one."

And then she was struck in the front and back by arrows simultaneously. Her form crumpled and dropped to her knees while blood began to flow from the fresh wounds. Her head reeled back in agony, but instead of a scream gargled by blood in her lungs, her face broke into a vicious smile.

The real Yuri, easily identified through a pair of lavender eyes that pulsed with the iconic Byakugan; heard a voice behind her ear instead. "Never announce your presence out loud. Stealth and silence are key."

Yet there seemed to be no source for the voice!

In front of her, the bloodied Hanami burst into a poof of smoke, leaving only a log perforated by arrows behind it. And then just a split second later, a duet if kunai pierced the tree trunk within millimeters from her ears. They had been thrown, and they missed, terrifyingly so on purpose.

In a shock of movement that mad her appear out of nowhere, Hanami seemed to he standing upon the very tree branch that Yuri stood upon. One would think such a thin strap of wood might snap, but the Hyuuga seemed as light as a feather upon it.

"Lack of stealth, lack of subtlety, and lack of silence can mean the untimely death of not only yourself, but your teammates. There will be a time when your life relies on silence and being able to hide." Hanami spoke grimly, as if she had experienced this truth once before.

"As for basics, which you require as a Genin, that the essence of Lesson One. Do you need a refresher? Or shall we proceed to lesson two?" She quipped calmly, unflinching from the obvious attempt on her life not moments before.

Yuri- This can't be! @Feisty-Pants

Witnessing not even 100% of her Master's capability, Yuri feeling her mere chakra presence caused a chill right down to her spine. Especially the tricks she's pulling right now. Light as a feather.

Never have she seen such power and never have she seen someone faster than her. Hanami is clearly on a different level.

Late does she know that, out of fear, she dropped her black bow and can't use anything.

Out of fear, Yuri surrenders fairly quickly. She admitted surrender like nothing happened even though she casually defeated 9 Genin effortlessly. Anything right now is contradictory.

She swallowed her words and is humiliated in front of her classmates and they all started laughing at her. She wanted to cry but couldn't, she simply sweat and cower in awe.

"I can't...." She fell into her knees after witnessing such amazing display of Hanami which she couldn't. She's on a whole different level than I am.

Flashback of Lord 10th Hokage- to Hanami.
"Clearly a long range fighter like her will freak out at a close quarter combat. That is Yuri's flaw. No matter how fast she is, she can't do anything up close, as an Archer she always makes sure her gap is far enough for her to beat an opponent."

"I can't move...." She freaked out. Yuri proven the fact that she can't do anything close range and her hype went down the drain.

Hanami - Surrender?[

Like a twig beneath the strain of a heel, the Uchiha girl's morale and ability to fight similarly broke all at once. It was peculiar, honestly. A sharpened change from the arrogance the Jounin had seen not long before. Befuddling all the same, the pulse about her eyes faded to their normal pastel hue, and her arms folded guardedly as even still she stood upon the branch.

"Surrender so easily?" She inquired at first, still holding a puzzled expression. "I suppose the Hokage was right, your greatest weakness is one that requires much work. On your feet, now."

Once the girl stood, Hanami nodded softly before waving her hand in a dismissive fashion. "Your Ninjutsu abilities at a basic level are fairly advanced. However, the most basic and critical of components, Taijutsu is where you desperately lack. Follow me."

As suddenly as she had appeared, Hanami leapt off the branch and landed silently on the ground below. After Yuri had also landed, the Hyuuga stretched ever lightly in the cool autumn breeze.

"Alright then," She began to state first. "We've got a long way to go. Second lesson will be this: Without a sound body, one cannot possess a sound mind. Do you know what this means?"

Met with a clueless look at first, Hanami sighed in resignation. "If you cannot truly hone your body, you cannot truly master the Chakra you possess. Plain and simple. In order to master Ninjutsu, you must master Taijutsu. This is the second lesson. And it begins now."

Hanami took several steps distant of Yuri then, turning to face her with her right side, the Jounin's knees bent and her feet spread, while one arm extended forward smoothly so that the back of one palm faced the girl.

"Come, show me what they've taught you, if anything. And I will sharpen you from there. No Ninjutsu, no Bow. Just you."

Yuri - I accept your terms @Feisty-Pants

"Come and try it!" Her eyes glared red revealing it is the sharingan at its two comma state on both eyes. A change happened in her. She started moving faster than she was before in circles. The thing about Yuri herself is that she's fast and lacking the combat skills meant for a real ninja. She relies on her cursed bloodline to end things she can't take care of.

Afterimages are the after effects of moving faster than one does, Yuri displayed speeds comparable to that of her ancestor, Sasuke back when he was in the Chuunin exams. Each afterimage is different, be it a punch, kick, using a bow, at the end of the day, she still haven't land a hit.

Recalling what happened with the quick skirmish at her first attempt to shoot down Hanami with an arrow, it was an afterimage as well.

"I got you!" She tries and lands a punch, no.. a kick whether it will connect as a hit or not.
