Anybody interested in an RP set in the world of the Witcher franchise? It doesn't matter to me if you're not super into the franchise/have only played the games/read the books. It would be a pretty normal high fantasy RP with a few unusual races or creatures and the general aesthetic. I don't have much for the plot but I do have two characters I'd like to use.

I'm down for almost anything as long as it doesn't get too big

If you look at the lore there's plenty of possibilities. Civil Wars, otherworldly antagonists like in part three, antagonistic rogue witchers, even just the adventures of a witcher in general come to mind

I'll have to read up on my lore. The two characters I have are a young witcher who can find, follow around, and be a general nuisance to an older more experienced witcher if we have one, and a sorceress girl who befriended a fiend when she freed it from an abandoned trap and healed it.
Maybe we could have a quest based plot like in the games? Like have an overarching quest but have side quests along the way as our hero travel to different towns?

It always seems strange just popping in and going "interested" then leaving, but I really can't think of much else to add.

IMO, except for the witchers themselves, there's nothing really special about the Witcher world. Creatures are taken from all over Central European legends and fairy tales and kingdoms are pretty generic not!European kingdoms with a lot of Slavic names slapped on places and people.

I disagree, the witcher world is very unique in the fantasy setting.

For starters indeed a lot of monsters are taken from traditional European folklore, but at the same time a lot of them are sparsely covered in common fantasy. The world of the witcher has a lot of science fiction undertones with the alternate worlds and dimensions and a cool history of this melding between the human world and the magic world, rather than the typical fantasy trope of simply shared existence since the dawn of time. Lastly, like Game of Thrones, it represents a dark, gritty and vivid world rather than these happy gentle harmless worlds akin to Lord of the Rings.

I hope the OP continues with this idea as there's a lot of potential

I really like the Witcher universe. It might be a little stereotypical when it comes to names, but the lore and politics are extremely well written and developed. It's very white, but given that Dragon Age just now got a single nonwhite character not too long ago it's not surprising. Also the creature design in the games is the actual shit.
If anybody wants in on this DM me, otherwise I may just write it on my own.

That's all part of the lore though. The northern kingdoms are based off of medieval northern Europe, meaning the vast majority of people would be Caucasian. Their are kingdoms to the south and east that are described two have more Asiatic cultures and darker skin, etc

POC were decently well documented in medieval Europe, people from Africa especially, though Middle Eastern and Asian were also seen, written about, and buried in European grave sites with and without honors. Sure the vast majority would be white but every single character, person of note, and NPC is white.

Everyone being white is kinda par for the course in a fantasy setting though. Not really sure why you're fixating on it.

I was just replying to something someone else said, that's hardly fixating.
I came here to RP though, not argue. Does anyone actually want to do that?

I'd like to Roleplay but I'm currently without a laptop.

I could Rp from my cell, though my quality will probably suffer.

Edit: Fixated was most probably the wrong word.
