Greetings!

I've been mulling over joining the guild for sometime and I've decided to dive in today (clearly) looking for some writing buddies! Let's get stuck in with the introductions, shall we?

I'm from a smoll village in Scotland, currently studying biomedical science. I've been roleplaying for the best part of 10 years now, going through all the 'mistakes' (The Sue's, the nonsense plot lines, the eye-colour-changing-self inserts.) I am still by no means perfect! However I have come a long way, and welcome any criticism and suggestions. I'm constantly striving to better myself as a writer and roleplayer! Onto my hopefully non-intimidating list of what I love and what I loath.

L O V E

Modern Day / Slightly Futuristic - I haven't received enough modern-day-setting love in my RP life. You don't realise how good phones are for relaying messages until you've rp'd in high fantasy where there's only couriers. I do love my modern day settings, there's a real sense of familiarity, right? You and your partner are usually on the same page as far as world rules go!

Supernatural | Superhuman - Oh this is the cliche of all cliche's, isn't it? I love it so. Granted I'm not the biggest fan of McShadow Deathwing, the half demon half angel who broods because, oh my, he has one black and one white wing. However I do feel supernatural elements can be very creative, even the 'simple' or 'stock' traits (Looking at you, werewolves and vampires) can be fine and dandy! I blame this on too much X-Men as a child.

School or Academy Settings - Roll up cliche number 2! I can't get enough of 'em. This one might be a nod to X-Men too, but schools are so central, close quarter places and definitely a breeding ground for drama because of that. So many different personalities all cooped up in the same general area, something's bound to go terribly wrong or terribly right! (Also Supernatural Schools are a guilty pleasure I will never grow out of.)

Slice of Life - See school, I suppose, but having the adventures in between the moments of normality just makes everything feel more human to me. Yeah they just rescued their friends from bounty hunters, everyone's nerves are frazzled, ...have a cup of cocoa.

Multi-character - I'm sorry but I am going to do this. I love writing a varied cast, I love RPing with a varied cast (not always required.) So I'm gonna write a reasonable amount of OC's to come and go in the story. Fear not, I don't have 50 of 'em, just a handful.

Romance - It's not by any means required and it may NEVER happen. I don't believe in squishing two OC's together forcing them to have feelings for each other, that kinda stuff happens organically! If they click they do, if they don't click, that's 100% fine! I am open to romance in roleplays, however. (Any pairing goes for me, MxM FxF MxF, I try to give my OC's a variety of tastes.)

Mature THEMES - I'm over 18 (what a geezer.) so I'm comfortable with darker themes. Narcotics, infidelity, smoking, drinking, disorders, I will say that while these are wonderful for realism and fleshing out stories and characters, there has to be a degree of care taken. If anyone is uncomfortable with this, please feel free to tell me, as we're all different shapes and flavors and I'd hate for anyone to get upset over something I really don't NEED to roleplay!

I think this will sidle up nicely to the topics of what I don't like;

L O A T H

OOC Drama - This is a fairly obvious one, and it's so broad let me try and whittle it down to one example I've encountered. By large and far, I seem more people get upset that one of my... less than nice OC's have been verbally lashing their OC. This one it's a funny one, cause I can and will make not-perfect OC's, I've plenty of them, and if they don't like your OC, they don't like your OC. It's not a personal attack on you, it's not because I don't like your OC, it's just their personality. I don't go around rping the one meanie-bo-beanie and rejecting kind hearts, don't worry. I just expect maturity, S'all!

18+ - Romance is fine, kissy kissy hug hugs, and FADE to BLACK is 100% fine if two OC's are so inclined. I can write more mature scenes, but I am not going to. I don't see the benefit of describing how jigsaw pieces fit together in amore, but fade to black is cool!

Sue's / Self Inserts / Edgelords - This is standard for alot of people, right? They're not fun to rp with and they're usually a big warning sign of OOC drama when things don't go the way they wanted. Hint hint, that's the fun of rp.

Fandoms - I've nothing against fandoms, I just tend not to write them!

Fantasy (KINDA?) - I have a fantasy Roleplay on the road with a friend of mine anyway so I'm not too fussed about another one, but that being said I do enjoy the genre, so if that's your flavor then by all means ask! I'm just popping it down here cause it's spoken for and OHMANILOVEMODERN.

Anyhoo, if none of that scared you off or made you file a report to the Mods because you were offended by it's contents, by all means drop me a PM! I'm a student, I do have a life, but I check in regularly! I'm happy to rp in PM or on the little 1 x 1 forums. I'm also more than happy to discuss plot lines OC's and whatever YOU personally like and dislike in Roleplay, after all it's a 2 way street! I'm not one of those who can reply 50 times a day, but daily responses, I will do my utmost best! (feel free to kick me after 4-5 days as I'm currently building PC's and have a coal driven laptop.)

Toodles!~
