According to local legend, the caverns nearby town used to house a temple to an ancient and powerful deity. Entrepreneurs and adrenaline junkies have tried and failed to locate this supposed temple in the depths of the cavern tunnels, following cryptic clues in the nearby library, weather reports, pretty much anything they could get their hands on for a get rich quick scheme. Despite the lack of discovery, the legend still burns strong in many local hearts, stories passed down to grandchildren like treasured folklore kept safe by recitation and repetition. It's like the lock Ness monster, everyone profits from spreading the story and propaganda, but with an undercurrent of curious respect. There has to be something, right? This whole tourist town couldn't be selling an outright like and conspiracy. Right?

We intrepid spirits (whoever we choose to be) will of course, dare to venture forth into the caverns, another generation of souls lost to the wanderlust of this powerful legend. What will we find down there? Why has nobody yet returned with proof? Why do so many who investigate seem to suddenly go missing? These questions and many more, may be answered in the course of our adventures – if you choose to accompany me.

A few notes:

Set in urban fantasy, preferably, though medieval cultures or other potential settings are negotiable. My preferred pairing is MxM for romance, but an adventure without strict romance will do me fine as well.

I look forward to ideas and input to flesh out this story. While I do have a few plans for basic plot, it's a group effort. As far as post length, please give me a paragraph at minimum (I don't see the opposite end of the spectrum being a problem).

If this idea doesn't catch your curiosity, I'm also open to suggestions. I tend towards dragons, high fantasy, and historical settings, so bring on the magic, mystery and beyond.
