Hey all, I’m looking for an advanced writer for a role play based the 19th century gothic novella Carmilla. It’s about a young woman who unknowingly falls prey to female vampire. Our RP will have a modern twist and go something like this:
Your character is a twenty-something living on her own in the big city, where she recently moved in order to chase an important job offer. She soon finds that living on her own is a bit lonely and decides to look for a roommate. Unfortunately, her advertisements online and in the newspaper go unnoticed. She’s about to give up on the idea when one afternoon she finds a woman crying on the stairs leading up to her apartment floor. The woman is young and very attractive, only a few years older than your character. She’s well dressed and has an expensive purse in her lap. She tells you that she came to the apartment complex to confront her cheating boyfriend who has since moved out, leaving her not note or phone number. Although she is distraught, she picks herself up and tries to compose herself. You find that she is very friendly and likeable, and actually, she might be a great roommate. You feel fantastic when you offer to lease out half your apartment and she accepts – the touch of her fingertips on your shoulder is exhilarating as she expresses her gratitude. Suddenly, she seems to forget all about her boyfriend. Her gaze settles on you and you find it simultaneously soothing and intense. For just a brief moment, you second guess your offer… but already the woman is leading you back to your apartment, a warm, coaxing hand at the small of your back, guiding you forward.
The first couple days are great. The two of you hit it off right away, talking about jobs, past lovers, all sorts of things. The woman, who calls herself Mila, is a fantastic roommate. She pays her rent on time, keeps everything clean, and some nights she even has dinner waiting for you when you get home. The only thing that seems off is that you never see her eat a whole lot. She has a slender figure but it’s even curvier than yours so you don’t suspect an eating disorder. Eventually, you don’t think about it at all. There’s really nothing to dislike about this woman. In fact, you laugh at yourself when you realize you’ve developed quite the schoolgirl crush on your older roommate. Just an innocent infatuation that has you doing small favors for her whenever she asks. She doesn’t even seem to notice.
It’s after the first few days that things start to feel off. It has nothing to do with your new roommate’s behavior, it’s just that you suddenly notice how weak you feel every day. Getting out of bed is fine, but when it comes to leaving for work, you just feel completely drained at the thought of leaving the cool, dark apartment. Thinking you might have mono or something, you decide to take a week off work. Your roommate seems concerned and even insists on taking care of you until you feel better. At this point, even the slightest touch from her makes your face feel warm, your pulse quicken. Everything about her has you mesmerized… so it’s quite a shock when you wake up one night to find her feasting on your neck…
