Alathia Busto was born in Wicker Falls in 1880. She is the only daughter of Altamira and Joshua Busto. Her older brother, Joseph, died prior to her birth of pneumonia. When Alathia was a teenager, she was assigned into the Council as a representative for her father due to his Fledgling ceremony taking place in a few days. She was nineteen at the time when the demon Phor came into her bedroom and offered her his blessing so that she could bear him a child whom they would name Mircea if it was a boy and Penelope if it was a girl. Alathia was ashamed of what she had done due to her status in the Council and she was unwed. With quick thinking, she managed to catch the eye of a soldier, Everett Mercer and the two married in just a few days while Alathia was pregnant with Phor's only child. They consummated the marriage and not a hair was out of place. To this day, Everett nor Mircea know the truth.

Everett Mercer is the youngest child of Thomas Mercer and Min Young Kim. He was born in 1745 in the Yeongjo Period when his father had traveled to what is now known as Busan, South Korea. While he was there as a merchant, he fell in love with Min Young and the two wed in order to protect his future wife from an abusive father. Min Young became pregnant with a pair of twins but one of them perished due to the conditions of the room where Min Young had given birth. The surviving child was named Everett after Thomas’s late father. After the country turned from the era of kings and queens to democracy, the family moved to Thomas’s birthplace: Scandinavia. When Everett had turned twenty-four he applied for an officer position within the Council. There, he met his current wife Alathia Busto and they went on to have two children, Mircea and Trinity. Over the years, Everett climbed his way to the top of the Council, eventually becoming the highest ranking official during his run for representative of the Mercer name. He would often receive physical punishments from his father for his goofy personality and his lack of empathy when it came to small animals. Once Elena had her child, a healthy baby boy, she let herself be consumed by depression since John had never told her that he had another family. The final straw was when John wanted to claim custody of their child and Elena refused. This angered John and he committed a horrid thing. He sunk his fangs into their child, killing the baby boy instantly. Elena, infuriated, performed a spell on John that forced him to lose his vampiric DNA, stripping him of his immortality and he crumbled into a pile of dust. After Elena cleaned the mess, she packed her bags and moved to Pennsylvania to start a new life and be close to her late husband’s family. All fingers pointed to the Bennett family. Elena, however, let it slide. While Karolina is a puppet, Kaia is not.

Additional Notes True to her nature, Evangeline was born in Italy on a hot summer day in 1810. During this time, Italy was still a monarchy so it's believed that her father belonged to the royal family but records were lost so she isn't too sure. Her mother died in child birth so she was raised by her nanny, Stella, whom she was very fond of. Stella was not a vampire and once Evangeline grew up, she promised she would turn her into an immortal being so they could be together forever. Unfortunately, her nanny became ill and died in a few weeks. In 1826, she was sold off a slave to an older man named Fausto Bennett who was six years older than her.
