During the few years I've been away from roleplaying games (...sorry), I heard of this fun way to build some character bonds and help your roleplay partner out a bit, and I thought it looked awesome so let me know what you think!
The basic idea is to list a handful of rumors other characters would have heard or might have assumed about yours, some true and some false and maybe some are a bit of both.
(Admittedly, this is hard because they wouldn't have overheard much about each other.)
So here is what you would have heard about Elijah Mendez:
1. His parents are divorced
2. He dropped out of school
3. He has a boyfriend back home
4. He's from an inter-religious household
5. He struggles a lot with math
