Call me Free. :) I've been rping for over two decades. I'm looking for a new, potentially long-term roleplay partner for this rp I'm really excited about and possibly others. I'd prefer a partner around my own age, so 26-42. I am in the central time zone.
I'm in grad school for popular fiction and publishing. I like writing fiction stories and songs. I love singing and dancing. My favorite thing is spending time talking to people. School ends this week so I'm looking for something fun to do this summer! :)
I will not ghost you, even if it doesn’t work out. I will let you know. I expect the same courtesy.

The world has merged into a handful of superpowers. They can be political or corporate (we can decide that). One or more of these superpowers have accidentally antagonized a race of technologically superior aliens. The aliens are enroute to our character's planet (which is earth-like, but not earth). Their five-year journey is just about up.
This is known only to Eyris. (Code name for this project.) Their only defense? Meta humans. Meta humans have x-men-like super powers. There are 1 in every 1,000 humans. Eyris hopes to exploit these powers by creating super soldiers, forcing the metas to help in the fight and creating cures for things, depending on the power. All of this is currently unknown to the world's population. They've been keeping it secret. (Let's face it, it's a pretty embarrassing admission.) One or more characters will be kidnapped.
At some point, the knowledge can't be contained and will become public knowledge. Riots will break out, prompting military law. Our heroes will need to mount a defense and rescue themselves and their planet.
The rp exists in a futuristic society with very advanced technology. The location is urban. Think doors that open and close on their, based on whether or not you have been granted access. Lifts that automatically take you to your apartment floor, no commands required. Feed access everywhere. Tech that connects signals to your brain, but is not implanted. Teleportation exists, but is too expensive for every day use. Primary modes of transportation are bullets (intercity), metro (intracity) and bubbles (private, similar to taxis, also used in other scenarios like exploring the Preserve).

I'd love for a slow-burn romance to be sizzling in the background. (Clean. No explicit erotica.) Witty banter is a must!
I intend to play two characters: Brooklyn and James. Brooklyn is whom I'd like to pair with a guy, but I'm willing to do doubles, if you prefer that.
Original characters only.
Brooklyn is 5'1", slim and has curly brown hair and green eyes. She's strong and independent, but compassionate and caring. She's a bright, positive person who is very chatty. She's nomadic with a deeply tragic past. She picks up odd jobs in each city she visits, but her true passion is fashion. Her power is hex, which basically boils down to being able to alter the laws of probability beyond reasonable expectation. Her power is kinda op, so feel free to give your guy something good, even two powers if you feel the first one isn't zingy enough. It would be great if at least one was telekinesis, to balance her out since she currently has zero control over her powers. (She doesn't know she has powers. She thinks she's cursed.) Totally not required though. If you've got power(s) you're excited about, go for it!
James and Brooklyn used to be best friends until she disappeared. He's 6'2" with dark brown hair that's long enough to style, not long enough for a ponytail. He's got a medium build and is somewhat, but not overly muscular. He's reserved, private, sometimes abrasive, very loyal and sarcastic. He works in cybersecurity. He loves tech. His powers are two connected: he is part shadow. So he can turn incorporeal (which in this case is also invisible) and teleport in shadows, but he only knows about the first ones.

I've got more ideas for this than are here, but I figure this is enough for you to know if it's for you or not. I'm looking to build this rp up with a partner, so additional plot lines and ideas are totally welcome. I'd like this to be a collaborative effort. Once we get going, this is our rp, not mine. :)
I don't have post length requirements. It's mainly about writing what is needed and doing a good, quality job. Some posts will be several pages long (like if my characters are talking to each other. My intro is pretty long.), but some may be a few sentences if our characters are dialoguing to give space for a natural back and forth.
I love drama. So bring on the extremes! My intro for this is dramatic. :) (But please avoid the extremes of unhealthy relationship dynamics. It's not fun for me.) Also, I'd like to keep it on the lighter side. Nothing too dark.
