So this plot I had in mind is an idea that I had tried to turn into a short story. Unfortunately I couldn’t quite write for the male lead so in digging through old writings for plot inspiration I came across it and thought someone might be interested in the dark romance story.
Essentially the story starts quite a ways in the future far after our characters met, fell for each other and broke up. The quick backstory of the two is that they were childhood friends who were inseparable, fell in love in their freshman year of high school and broke up in their senior year of high school. If you're interested in a more dark and twisted break up though I can share their full backstory that we can change as we please. But it involves triggering themes such as intoxication, manipulation, violence and rape of the ML. This backstory doesn’t need to be used but if you’re interested in learning more feel free to enquire about it over PM’s.
Back to the plot idea, the role play would start with our two characters having life changing things happening to them. Your character comes home from his latest tour of duty only to find his wife in bed with his best friend from high school. His best friend is supposed to be with his ex (FL), though come to find out his wife and best friend have been hooking up for years while they’ve been with ML and FL. But the worst part is finding out that his best friend has actually been hiding out with his wife while he’s been away as he ended up putting the FL into a coma after an argument turned to domestic violence.
My character (FL) was pushed after the breakup with ML to become a star by the ML’s best friend, her voice skyrocketing her into the charts and straight into the best friend’s hands. Going to party after party with the best friends urging, she became addicted to alcohol and unknowingly to another substance only known as Enfermedad De Amor. The drug is said to give the user feelings of euphoria and sexual arousal, the withdrawals being violent nausea and the feeling that your heart has stopped beating.
Using this, the best friend molded her into someone completely different from the good girl she once was, blackmailed her with tapes he made when he had drugged her, kept her locked up in complete isolation whenever she rebelled against her. This all came to light when she was put into a coma by her best friend when she refused to do the largest tour her band had ever done, an international tour that would leave her in five new places every week.
After turning his wife and his ex best friend into the police he goes to the hospital FL is at, fighting with the staff to know how she’s doing, she eventually wakes up. But due to the trauma she has completely lost her voice. On top of that the withdrawals start, the doctors discussing with ML that it’s better to keep her on Enfermedad De Amor since those who have tried to stop it have ultimately decided death was more preferable. He decides to become her protector, her dealer, and her lover in order to bring back the girl he once knew. The rest of the plot would evolve naturally from there.
This role play is exceptionally dark and I have ideas of things to add to make it even more so. It is entirely a niche idea but I hope perhaps you find it at the very least intriguing enough to enquire. Happy Labor day and thank you again for reading through my idea!
