There is a fungus among us. Three dozen individuals have been infected, some are being monitored, and a few have been captured by various organizations. Those that know of its existence are clandestine in nature, be it national & paramilitary, exploitive networks, and general well-to-do scientific community. The public is unawares, but for how long? I wish to explore a secret pandemic and its fallout, through characters of many slices of life, and of course those more primarily involved in such an event. WWZ and group-brawl stories such as Condemned/Hunger Games/Battle Royale are initial inspiration for this, let's see what we can do in and behind scenes for such a story. Take a peek at the character sheet and see if it strikes your fancy!
Setting:
Modern Earth(Hosptials, diners, intersections, military bases, it's all open if agreed upon)
What we Know:
Omphalotus Violentus is a parasitic fungus that makes paranoid and aggressive behaviors, pain tolerance rise, and scar tissue faintly glow. Very low-level infection rates to stop mobs from happening, and also the fungal aspect would make it benign to the character traits save for those mentioned but also make similarly infected seek each other out/battle. Three dozen are infected, and those that have survived so far show alarming signs of combat prioress, they seem to harbor more infectious species of said fungus. The original infection seems to have evolved from transcontinental flights.
