ABOUT ME

My name is Ember! I'm 28, a Sagittarius, and I enjoy long walks on the beach (at night because the sun is evil).

I'm experienced in roleplaying and have been consistently involved in some kind of roleplay for 15 years.

I started with 1×1 and group role plays, then moved to TTRPGs. Now I DM for long-running campaigns and one-shots several times a week. But I miss the freedom of free-form! So that's why I'm here. Let's make stuff up!


MY RP STYLE

I love fandoms, especially when I can craft a lovely AU or stitch two similar fandoms together. Like Legos! Or Frankenstein? But I am also happy with something resembling canon if that is more your speed. (If you prefer fandomless that's cool too!)

For characters, I am just as flexible. OCs are great. CCs are wonderful. Both are good. I'm fine with doubles of any sort. Or not. Do you want to focus on one person while I GM the world? Or vice versa? Talk to me about it!

I try to match my players' or partner's length of post and I write in third person and past tense. I usually post once or more a day.




The Commandments of Ember:

1. This is a fun hobby, not a job!
While making an effort to write dynamically and well, I'm not going to be a stickler for the odd mistake or error.

2. Third person or no person.
If your style is different than mine, that's fine, except when it comes to third person.

3. Plot points and writing should be collaborative.
I love GMing but I don't need to hold the reins! I will chat with you about major plot points and expect the same.

4. Be kind.
All of us have things that make us uncomfortable. I do not abide by OOC prejudice of any kind. I also will respect any triggers you may have if you respect mine. We can chat about specifics if we decide we want to play!

5. Yappers welcome.
I love OOC chat, sharing memes, GIFs, playlists, art, etc. If that's not your jam, just tell me upfront.

6. All you need is love.
I'm very pansexual in my writing and open minded about pairings (as long as they aren't against website rules, don't make it weird.) Characters can be as varied as people are in real life. If you have a preference, let me know. Also I may expect us to *fade to black* if things get too spicy.

MY MAIN FANDOMS (and some plot ideas):

Supernatural
The apocalypse happened, but not in the way the brothers expected. One day, the world woke up and everything more advanced than a calculator stopped working. And now, there are whispers that a rising power in the Appalachians is stirring. We start two years after "the end." Will they team up with others to try and save a crumbling society or leave it to its fate?

This is a canon-divergent mash-up of Supernatural and the worlds of Anne Rice. The brothers investigate the murders of several prominent citizens near Chicago. At first, they seem like vampire kills. But the wounds on the victims' necks look like something from fiction. Two punctures. Not the ripped and torn bites they've seen before. They track down and trap the creature they assume is responsible, only to find out that they've caught an ally from a world they know nothing about.


Harry Potter
I wasn't a fan of the lore for the American school. So let's change it! Beacon Hill Academy of the Arcane is tucked away in a pocket dimension within Boston, Massachusetts. Headmaster Benjamin Franklin runs the school with a focus on ingenuity, personal discovery, and (of course) freedom. Our students will get into schoolkid shenanigans while solving mysteries based on American folklore and history!

The Ministry of Magic in the year 1888 has a department specifically for magical investigation. The Ministry of Magic Investigation Unit solves any mystery the Muggle police can't, all while endeavoring to keep their world hidden from the non-magical people of London. Their first case involves a magizoologist who was found dead in his home. What secrets will they uncover?


Firefly
A crew of found family friends fly the big black sky a decade after first contact. Alien races have discovered our little corner of the verse, and they want a spot in the orbit. Humans are getting used to sharing and caring with beings they don't understand, all while fighting for scraps between themselves. This will be more of an episodic RP with mini adventures galore! (I'm thinking of using alien lore from Farscape, but I am open to ideas!)
