[F4M] Advanced Literate / Novella RP — Dark Fantasy / Romance (Character-Driven, Long-Term)
I’m looking for a long-term RP partner who enjoys deeply character-driven stories with strong emotional arcs, immersive worldbuilding, and meaningful plot progression. I’m not interested in surface-level interactions—I want something that feels like an actual story we’re building together.
Writing Style:
- Advanced literate to novella (typically 2+ Google Doc pages per reply)
- Multi-paragraph, detailed where it matters (especially internal thoughts/emotions)
- I can mirror my partner, but I generally maintain a consistent level of depth
What I’m Looking For:
- A collaborative partner—I’m fine with you taking the lead on the main plot, but I want to be involved in shaping events and character direction as we go
- Someone who enjoys OOC brainstorming and idea-sharing
- Consistency and communication (life happens, just don’t disappear)
- Realistic pacing (2–3 replies per month minimum works for me)
Romance & Tone:
- Romance is a major focus, but not the only focus
- I enjoy a slow-to-mid burn (not instant, not dragged out endlessly)
- Strong emotional tension—attraction that builds, is resisted, misunderstood, or develops under pressure
- I like darker or morally gray themes when they add depth and conflict, not just shock value
- “Pain builds character” energy, but with an ultimately satisfying or meaningful outcome
Themes & Dynamics I Enjoy:
- Dark fantasy / fantasy settings
- Morally gray characters
- Corruption arcs (handled thoughtfully, not forcefully)
- Power imbalances that evolve into mutual respect or softening over time
- Emotional push-pull, internal conflict, forbidden or complicated attraction
- Enemies to allies
- Pairings like rogue/knight/sailor/rough noble x quieter but strong-willed character who grows into herself
Worldbuilding & Plot Style:
- I enjoy building worlds together
- I like having a few major plot points planned, while allowing the rest to develop naturally through writing
Important Boundaries:
- No smut-focused RP
- No incest
- No racism or bigotry
- No abuse used purely to control a character
- No god-modding
- I’m not interested in dynamics where one character exists solely to be manipulated or “broken down”
I’m completely fine with darker elements and complex dynamics, but I prefer them to develop naturally through the story and character interactions rather than being built around a single defining “weakness” from the start.
About Me:
- Easygoing and collaborative when it comes to plotting
- I enjoy brainstorming but also letting things unfold naturally
- I’ve been writing long-term with a partner for a few years, but due to inconsistent pacing, I’m looking for something more stable and engaging
Current Plot Ideas:
YAKUZA X BAKER
The characters are a mafia leader and a bakery owner. The mafia leader happens upon a small quaint bakery owned by a young adult and their mother. The owners fled their abusive father/husband a few years prior and bought the bakery trying to move on. One day, after the mafia leader had already been frequenting the bakery, debt collectors who tracked them down attempt to attack and strong arm the bakery own who drew the mafia leader’s attention, and the leader intervenes. I would play the female lead, you the male lead, but I am fine with either role falling one either gender.
DEATH IN LOVE
Again, gender doesn’t matter to me for these roles. Death isn’t just one singular being, it is many beings, all of whom were once alive themselves and upon death were offered to become reapers. They then spend their undead lives reaping other dead souls, helping them accept their mortality and cross over. Death in our story ends up being assigned a case specific to an individual who has set off flags in the reaper system due to an odd spike in deaths surrounding them. These deaths were not due to some mass casualty event - this individual is either extremely unlucky or is somehow bringing death to those close to them. The reaper is assigned to investigate and see if involvement is necessary, only to find the individual intriguing on sight, and that not everything is as it seems.
ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE
This one I would want the female lead to be the carrier. This trope follows a male doctor who is given the task of creating a cure for the zombie virus but while attempting to do so he falls for the woman being used to create it. When he realizes that the only current method for a cure would involve removing her brain stem, he refuses to do so and they’re thrown into survival from both the organization he worked for and the apocalypse as well.
If you’re interested in building something immersive, emotionally engaging, and story-driven, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to share writing samples and brainstorm ideas.
