Brief History: Etmere was born to a small elven tribe within The Imperium's lands. As an elf, he and his people were always treated as exotic second-class citizens. Something to work in the clubs to be stared at as a thing of beauty, so they could send money back to their tribe to help them live. Etmere never wanted that kind of life, and unlike those in his tribe, his natural affinity for nature also appeared to give him a natural affinity for magic. It was this affinity for magic that allowed him to get a scholarship for one of the magic towers in the capital of the Imperium.

There, he studied and learned magic. Though the entire time that he was there, he often faced racism for being an elf and was ridiculed for being more interested in studying and learning magic than actually fighting it. It was only natural that when the imperial family came looking for a mage to go to the deadly desert, the tower suggested him, dressing him up as excellent in studying, but secretly hoping that he would die out in the desert. Even knowing that was the reason he was chosen by the tower, Etmere knew that saying no would have bad consequences and decided that he would accept the job regardless.
Other: While capable of combat magic, his real expertise lies in support magic due to his affinity with nature itself and the spirits that reside in it. His eyes are special in that they allow him to read the flow of mana directly, something he has kept hidden from everyone but his tribe, knowing that the wizards of the imperium would subject him to experiments to see if they could replicate the ability.

Marceline birth is that of mystery. Her mother was a worker for one of the many clubs that lingered in the Imperium. While her father, well... Her father wasn't around much, nor would he know about Marceline and her mother. Instead, she grew up on the stories of men that could be her father. A noble prince from a distant land, a famed solider that continued the fight against the king's enemies, and maybe a righteous man that blessed Marceline forever and always. With these ideas in her head, nothing stopped her from trying to hunt down any man she could call father. Until one day, in the town square a man with golden armor that looked shiny yet ancient, weapons dulled from a lifetime of war crossed paths with Marceline.

Curiosity overtook the girl before manners did. Marceline asked hundreds of questions, questions that the man would answer with a jaunty laugh and a small smile. His name was Herodon Hale, Paladin of the god king and she was enthralled. Later that night, in the privacy of a room Herodon offered a deal to Marceline's mother. Gold for the mother, so that she could have a fresh start for exchange that Marceline would come join him to become a member of the church. Marceline's mother agreed and with a single kiss goodbye... that was the last she saw her mother. Herodon took Marceline back to his church near the capital of the imperium. Marceline trained with noble boys and girls, the future priest and nuns to spread the word of the god king. Marceline saw a different life.

She wanted to be exactly like Herodon, going so far to change her last name. Herodon smiled softly and decided to take the young girl to further her training into knighthood. For years she watched, trained and failed the acceptance applications. Yet she refused to give in, and neither did Herdon. Her training increased, both physically and intellectually, pushing back into her limits and when the next year came around. She was welcomed into the fold with the highest score.

As the years passed she rose through the ranks. Suppressing many others and yet growing in her faith with. To receive the final blessing of the god king. Herodon sent Marceline onto this quest as her trial. Solve this mystery and the rank of paladin would be hers. So she took the chance, no matter what would happen.

Other: She is really good at fighting, endurance, and some tactics but absolutely naive to magic and it's wonders. Learning about the world around her from a much grander perspective then that of her father or the church.
