The Revenants Applaud is about a tragedy involving a theater troupe in 1969 manifesting into a reality twisting curse that warps an urban neighborhood in 1999. The intersection of Burton Street and Curtain Road is where the Slice Theater stands. Shaped like a triangle, it's the city’s slice of pie. Known colloquially as BuCu, the area is a cultural center with cafes and bars, however, unsuspecting people can be spirited away to an inescapable misty mirror world where vengeful spirits of deceased thespians haunt survivors with visions, portents and apparitions.

A dolled-up saloon girl stirred long-settled dust on a once steed-trodden high street as she fell to the ground, flattening her petticoat and hurling a floral fascinator from her head. She frantically squirmed against the confines of her gown, overcome with fright and unable to breathe. She was a prey rabbit, stalked sadistically by a pair of predators, two lovers that coiled around one another sensually like snakes. They pursued the distraught girl half-distracted with bloodied faces, their tongues swirled passionately in the other's mouth. A man wearing an ivory cowboy hat canoodling with a woman in a tan fringe dress, they were Adam and Lilith, the beginning and the end. Coated in viscera, Lilith peeled herself from her man, twirled towards the crying girl, then seized her by the neck and flapped her like a bed sheet, snapping her spine like a row of dominos. Adam cheered as if he had won a poker hand, “Yehaw!” - then proceeded to serenade the woman he loved, "Sugar, sugar, duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh, ohhh - honey, honey, duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh - you are my candy girl!”
