The wolfman warrior looked to Samuel and grinned.

“Of course I’ll help take them down, they only got the edge on me because they surprised me was all! Now that I’m feeling so great nothing can stop me! The Name’s Renzo by the way!” He exclaimed confidently, drawing his sword.

Kain also got into a battle ready position.

Clarisse nodded, “You’re right about that there is a chance for stronger drops from bosses, including ‘rare’ ones…Of course it’d be ideal if they didn’t get one but if our force proves to be superior then there’d be nothing wrong with us claiming the drop for ourselves.” She snickered a bit.

Clarisse stayed farther back from the group with the other casters, facing the the door.

“Let’s greet them with a strong response then.” She spoke simply a smug darker look falling on the noble’s face looking like she had great intent to do harm to the pair when they came through, holding her fan in just about the most aggressive imposing way one could given it was a fan.
====
After some more crashing sounds and probably muffled explosions It’d be about ten more minutes of waiting with anticipation before the large door opened.

A somewhat tall slender looking fox beast man, who looked more person minus his ears and tail and eyes, with tied back orangey hair wearing sandals and an ornate conical hat atop his head, with flowing red, gold and white robes came out of the boss room, his orangey white tail coming out of his robes.

He didn’t appear to have any obvious catalyst on him though he did have a few golden rings on his fingers on each hand.

Then there was the shorter figure next to him, they were wearing a green cloak that obscured them some but it was clear they had at least a pair of daggers, and light armored pants which were not hidden by the cloak, it looked like they hand some basic brown boots on, and chainmail gloves.

“Well Well..It looks like little Renzo got some friends. That’s a shame. You all might have gotten to live another day if he had just been a good little plank and dropped dead.” The fox man spoke with an unchanging smirk, his eyes almost looked narrow and closed the whole time, an unsettling faux friendly expression on his face.

(Narrator note: Feel free to Let me know OOC if any of you did something in particular during those 10 mins and I could possibly take into consideration in this part.)

OOC: when the boss battle seemed to die down, Samuel casts 'Hedge Your Bets' with Duration F on the party members. That should hold for an hour before needing a recast.

Samuel took up an ambush position within his magic's range as the others arranged themselves for battle. "Stay close to me if you need Healing and I'll do what I can." he said grimly, expecting a fierce battle. "Let's watch out for each other and cover our weak spots. These guys clearly play for keeps!”
As the murderous thieves appeared, Samuel projected his senses onto the pair to size up his opposition before launching Reshuffle on the pair to hopefully hamper their opening attacks.

Actions:
1) Spot a Tell ( on opponents)

Appraisal F + Insight F

2) cast Reshuffle on opponents

Magic F + Magic Range F + Enervation F + Magic Targets F

Targets of *Reshuffle* suffer damage resulting in a jarring inability to access certain actions, skills and abilities while under the effects of this Spell.

Grade: F, Actions: 1 Cooldown: 0

3) Block (if necessary)

As soon as the loud crashing sound came to be, Marcelin cast The Tale of Victory (Flux, Magic F [E] + Magic Range F + Magic AoE F + Magic Targets F + Bolster [STR] F + Bolster [INT] F + Energized F) on all his allies. There was no smart quip this time around, simply the magic itself.

Staying close (and behind) Samuel, he faced the criminals with a steely, emerald gaze. "So those are the miscreants who attempted against you? To call them vipers would be a monstrous insult to the serpent, for even the snake possesses the dignity to strike from the front!" Marcelin began, tone firm, voice-booming.

"You are craven, parasite-ridden jackals who left a true companion to bleed in the dark, slinking away with your pathetic, blood-stained copper! History will not record your names, you miserable curs; it will merely vomit at the memory of your cowardice! Your fates are at hand!" (Action 1)

Action:
1 - Vicious Mockery - Magic E + Magic Range F + Magic Targets F + Affinity Drain [STR] E + Affinity Drain [INT] E + Affinity Drain [PRE] E + Energized E - Marcelin hurls wounding insults up to five opponents, possible making them perform poorly - Grade E 1 Post Cooldown

Shortly before the murderous duo arrived on the scene, Samuel successfully cast hedge you bets to protect his party members for up to an hour. Hopefully the fight would conclude before then.
From what Samuel could tell from his spot a tell, these were two higher grade criminals, but the information he got wasn’t complete since they were higher grade, seeing that the dagger one had a [Murderer D] title, an [Abuser D] title as well as a [Thief D] title.

Marcelin bolstering left everyone feeling better in their abilities, minds sharpened, strength and stamina a bit better.

It looked like it was similar for the fox man.

The west empire magic casting criminal paused when he felt and heard Marcelin insulting him and his compatriot, but it wasn’t normal his smug hostile expression quickly shifted to one of annoyance when his ears twitched and he winced. “Ngh..” He clenched his fists.

“I’ll make you regret that…disrespecting your superior.” he spat at Marcelin. It looked like his move had successfully distracted the castor.

It was harder to tell on the dagger wielding cloaked figure but they changed their stance a bit too, it could be assumed that it was successful on them too even though they didn’t say anything for the time being.

“Oh that’s right! You’re from that nation that thinks that beasts are a superior breed! Well I’m afraid that you’re sorely mistaken! I think you’ll find that no matter where in the world I am, I’m the one whose on top of the pecking order.” Clarisse spoke arrogantly and smugly to the caster.

The beast caster snarled before he focused using some sort of componentless casting no doubt.

Suddenly five very hot and bright fireballs appeared above him and each came flying, illuminating the space in a reddish orangey glow flew forward one targeting kain, another Renzo who looked stern and focused, another Clarisse, plus one on Marcelin and Samuel.

In addition two fiery barrier like auras enveloped both the criminal caster and the dagger wielder.

While this casting went off, the dagger criminal rushed forward very quickly, leaving about eight afterimages in their wake, but Renzo quickly moved into action moving fast in their own right, perhaps not as fast was the criminal though swinging his katana and clashing with the dagger wielder, as sparks flew between them, helping to protect the back line.

“He was tryin’ to go you magic lot! But I won’t let him get through!” Renzo called out, his beast eyes dilating a bit as he snarled, his katana becoming illuminated in a bluish ki type looking energy, perhaps some kind of blight.

Clarisse did her best to pivot into a counter.

[Aquae Glaciem Obsidionem!] She’d call out in Terran, her fan ahead of her, she’d send back five sizable chunks of ice and water at the sizable fire balls. She looked confident enough but deep down she wasn’t entirely sure how strong the spell the criminal had used and if she had used enough power to counter appropriately. Sure Samuel’s barrier should hold after she at least weakened the attack right?

Of course none of this showed on her body language or expression.

Clarisse Actions:

Use Aquae Glaciem Obsidionem! - Magic E, Light Affinity F, Water Affinity F, Ice Affinity F, Magic Targets F, Accurate Affinity F Magic Range F, Focus E Energized E,
Clarisse conjured up to five blocks of a combination of ice and water to strike up to five foes for water and ice affinity damage, up to 30 ft away. -E grade ability ( cooldown 0, Energized)

Combat round:

Criminal caster, casts a mutli attack fire spell unknown grade, targeting all adversaries.

They also cast some kind of flaming aura type barrier on themselves and the dagger criminal

Dagger criminal rushes forward at a high extreme speed leaving 8 after images ,but Renzo retaliates moving quickly too successfully intercepting the dagger criminal, as they clash.

Clarisse casts Glacieum Obsidionem to try to help counter fire attack.

"Focus down the Fighter first. Then we can deal with the Caster." Samuel called. The Caster was formidable, the fact that Clarisse struggled against their magic despite her dismissive bravado spoke as much. That didn't mean that the dagger-weilding thief was weak by comparison...but his reliance on the Caster made him a vulnerability for their team.
"Let's try a little something I've been wondering about..." Samuel's hands flashed out in an exaggerated roll of the dice. "Boxcars!” he called out as mystic dice rolled from his palm at Renzo. The pair of magical dice both landed on Six as they merged with Renzo's form. He hoped the magical infusion of Luck would give the swordsman the upper hand.

Actions:
1) recast Reshuffle at opponents

Magic F + Magic Range F + Enervation F + Magic Targets F

Targets of *Reshuffle* suffer damage resulting in a jarring inability to access F Rank actions, skills and abilities while under the effects of this Spell.

2) cast Boxcars! on Renzo

Magic E + Magic Range F + Skill Loan F (Luck F)

This magic Ability tilts the odds in favor of the Target for a brief period. Each casting counts as one use of Samuel's Luck Skill for the RP.

3) Block with Barrier (if necessary).
