Mmkay, so, lovely posts, everyone! I was gonna have Cadie talk to Rak, but since Vampiric has beat me to it, I suppose I'll have to find something else for Cadie to do.
It looks like I'm due for a post again! Cadie's part was mostly written but now it needs some edits lol, and I haven't started Buck's part though I know exactly what I want to do with him. It will be up Sunday night at the very latest.
I just kind of want to give everyone a little heads-up: I am going to be on vacation from work next week, and my birthday is next Friday. If I seem a little distant and am not talking much on the OOC this coming up week, please forgive me: I tend to get a bit depressed and withdrawn around my birthday.

Pumirya is right, the cake is a lie, and food is not a happy place for me. My happy place is out at the barn with my horse, so I will probably spend a lot of time out there this week. ;)
You horseback ride? I am so jealous! I've always wanted to do that, but we had neither the funds nor family to do so :/. Ride off into the sunset, Maiden. Believe
Ugh, thinking about Riding literally makes me so sad. I seriously, seriously miss horses so much. I never get the chance to do anything with them now that I'm done College. It's so depressing.
So are we just waiting on Maiden to post at the moment?
I believe so. I don't mind, honestly, since I like sleeping xD. Whenever I wait to RP, it's usually 1AM or later.
Yeah we're waiting for Maiden, not that I mind, I'm gonna be pretty busy next week moving into my new house! So exciting!

Sorry to be holding everyone up! It's been a very rough few days for me, so I fell a little behind in my writing. Cadie's part is done, Buck's is in progress. I'll have it posted by the time I go to bed tonight! GM's not supposed to hold up the roleplay!! >.<
BUT. Bad as the past few days have been, I spent all day at the barn today. And since you all seem interested...
I have been riding horses since I was ten. My Mom has been riding almost as long as she's been alive: her aunt used to carry her around on the horse as a toddler. So the second I showed interest, Mom was thrilled. I started lessons, and once I'd shown that I was really dedicated two years later, Dad bought Mom and I a little bay mare named Jessie. We had Jessie for three years before I outgrew her, and we were moving from Florida to New Mexico anyway, so we sold Jessie.
When we got to New Mexico, we found a new barn with a great trainer, so we needed a new horse. We bought Charlie from a horse trader in NM, and Charlie was actually born in Mexico. He's got a great big brand on his left thigh to prove it. He was a Western horse, barely broke to English, and the two of us learned pretty much everything together. I'd just started jumping, and Charlie was really great at it. He was just a great horse overall: smart, calm, and sweet-natured. I did Cross-Country, Jumping, and Hunter-Jumper on him. Mom rode him on the trails. When I went off to college his show career was pretty much over, but Mom and I took turns riding him while I finished school and got married. I don't have kids, and while I was getting divorced Mom had gone back to college, so I took over with Charlie. When Mom graduated, she got a fabulous new job and could afford to get and keep another horse. So, she got a Rocky Mountain Horse mare named Opal. Now we trail ride together every weekend.
Charlie's too old to do any more jumping, but I'm no spring chicken myself so our weekly walks around the neighborhood suit me just fine. That horse is one of my best friends, and I don't know what I'd do without him. I'm forever indebted to my Mom for making sure we kept him all these years. When we moved from New Mexico to Alabama, we brought him with us. She told me once that Charile's gonna be our horse until he's not a horse anymore. I cried. Thanks for reminding me that humans live longer, Mom!! Charile's 26 this year!

This is my Charile. He's wearing his blankie cuz it's December outside and he's an old fella. He always has to smell my camera/phone/whatever when I try to take a picture.

Just got grounded for being out too long while running, so my posts may be short and errorful, since I am using my phone. No idea how long it'll go for, but it may be a while. On a positive note, that story made me feel happy inside, so thanks!

So, in case you guys are baffled as to why Cadie is blind: it's the conversion disorder. She saw something she liked, and consequently went blind to keep from coveting. No telling how long it will last: maybe only hours, maybe weeks. (Though for the RP's sake, probably just hours.) It is admittedly a very severe and short-cycling instance of the disorder, but it's so much fun to play. As I said before, I was going to have her engage Rak, but since you've all grouped yourselves up nicely, there's no need.
I tried to write for Jax but... he's really difficult. He's more animal than I'd anticipated, and though I can handle Buck and Cadie, I'm just not up to the challenge of Jax's first post right now. But SOON.
Buck's part is one of my favorite self-written examples of how quantity does not equal quantity. While Cadie's part of the post is longer, the only thing it accomplishes is to give a few of Cadie and Jax's reactions to the new arrivals. Buck's part is shorter, but I've included more patients and synchronized some things: I have no idea if poor Nell will be horrified or amazed to see a nurse and a fellow patient drinking blood, or if she'll toss her cookies at the sight of that big raw hunk of meat.
Tigre, I believe you had expressed an intent to show us Dante's inner cannibal? Yesyes? I think between Buck, Simone and Dante we can probably make Nell run screaming from the room. Poor dear... but no worries, Buck's got a syringe with her name on it. :) (Sorry Kally, lol! If you need to PM me about it, feel free!)
