Serena and two other Slytherin girls, Rebecca and Mary-Ann, were standing still on the road in the east side of Hogsmeade. Those two girls were known to have a high status within Serena's clique but at the same time they could be considered sheep in her flock. Serena valued them more than she did with other 'friends' but she still put her brother Buck above them when it came down to it. While forcing a smile, Serena suddenly said: "Now!" followed by the three girls entering the Hog's Head. They immediately stormed towards Buck. "What were you thinking, Buck?" Serena started "The Hog's Head? How will my plan work if rumors spread of you lingering in such a shady place? I insist we leave right this instant!" Buck put his hands on her shoulders and massaged them in order to calm her down. "Sis, sis, sis... You wanted information on that Ravenclaw girl, didn't you?" Serena frowned and hesitated. "What do you got?" Buck grinned mockingly. "Nothing to worry about, she doesn't form a threat. Scottish, good at Transfiguration and Muggle Studies, and she-" Serena interrupted her brother by pushing him away, thus also interrupting the massage. "You idiot, I don't care about where she is from or what classes she is good at. I just... Ugh! Come on girls, let's leave this place before anyone sees us. You too, Buck." Rebecca and Mary-Ann quickly followed without questioning and it seemed like Buck followed that example.

The four of them made their way to the carriages that would get them to the castle. The girls thought that the carriages moved by themselves, but Buck knew better than that and stared at the Thestral that apparently couldn't be seen by his sister and her friends. "What is it?" Serena asked, but Buck decided not to share. "Nothing." While they drove towards the castle, Serena handed Buck a small round object. "Chew on it. It will get rid of the Firewhiskey scent." The tone she used, indicated that she judged him for drinking such a strong drink on a relatively young age. Rebecca whispered to Mary-Ann: "Is it just me, or is it too dark for this time of the day?" The girls felt something was wrong, first that shadow in the Express, now the lack of daylight. Serena hushed them before they could discuss it further. "Sshh, you two. I can't hear myself think." Despite ordering the others to be silent, Serena talked to herself out loud. "Now, what would be the best way to get even on that annoying Gryffindor girl without comprising my masterplan. Hmh..." Buck and the girls decided to keep silent for the rest of the ride.

Kjolmar's gaze travelled towards August's new hairstyle. "I like it better this way, actually. It's simply beautiful, August!" Kjolmar was quite the charmer, not to get in anyone's pants like some other boys did, but he knew the true value of a compliment better than anyone. "You brought your violin, that is wonderful. Mother wanted me to find a way to get my piano to school but I didn't feel like bringing it. It's not exactly an instrument that you can put under your seat. There is a piano at the castle though, we should definitely play some music together some time." Kjolmar was rather good at playing the piano but he didn't always enjoy playing because for as long as he could remember, he was forced to practice in order to get even better. Being a Prefect, studying a lot and playing Quidditch, his spare time was rather limited as it was.

Kjolmar turned back to Felix and smiled. "Felix, you remember August? We accidentally turned her owl purple in our second year." Kjolmar laughed a little but was also rather embarrassed. He knew she'd forgiven them but it was one of those things you'd never truly forget.

As they got to Hogsmeade, their first stop was The Three Broomsticks. Not that far from the entrance sat Abelia Nixus and right behind her were sitting Joseph and Louis. "Kjolmar, over here!" one of them shouted. Kjolmar motioned for Felix and August to follow him and he put some extra chairs at the table. "Hey Kjol, I just wanted to apologize for earlier. I've been rather hard on you but... good luck with your Seeker position." Joseph said, while Louis nodded in agreement. Louis decided to add an explanation to the apology: "It's just that we'll miss you as our third Chaser and we needed some time to progress that." Kjolmar placed his hands on their shoulders. "It's okay guys. I would be upset too, if it were one of you two leaving. Say guys, you know Felix and August?" Louis looked at August: "Yeah, aren't you that girl whose owl got turned pur-" Kjolmar interrupted Louis before he could go on. "Soooo... Who's up for some Butterbeer?"

As the landlady walked up to them to take their orders, she giggled a little and winked. "Why don't you try my excellent Firewhiskey, sir Delacroix?" Kjolmar blushed a little. "Well, as a Prefect, I shouldn't encourage underage drinking. I think five Butterbeers will do just fine, but thank you for the suggestion. Oh, Mdm Rosmerta, make that six Butterbeers, one for the Gryffindor girl as well. She had the pleasure of encountering Serena Vermont so early on the day so I bet she can use it." He winked at Abelia while making that remark.

"Oh yes, Kjolmar, have you attracted Serena's attention in some way? She gave me an odd look while I was talking to you. I am starting to wish I had let my brother teach me how to read lips. Ah well. And as for my owl, I have long since passed over the incident, but I don't think Bach has completely forgiven you," she said with a laugh, tossing her hair. Internally, she was a little sad that Bach getting turned purple was the only thing she was known for. August really did pride herself on her violin skills, and the fact she never used magic to play hers. She used magic to fix it and keep it clean, but not to play it.

The Ravenclaw girl adjusted her cloak, holding her violin case with one hand. "Would you like a drink and a performance? I have been forgetting to play in preparation to return to Hogwarts, so it would be beneficial for everyone. You, Kjolmar, should know that I am not bad at playing," she said softly. August was well-known for playing homesick first-years to sleep, and had done so ever since her first year. She had even gotten in trouble once or twice for sneaking out at night to stargaze or play her violin in a less-populated area.
