Raleigh Becket destroys the breach via Gipsy Danger self-detonation.
The breach was closed, the planet saved by Raleigh Becket and Mako Mori at the cost of the heroes Stacker Pentecost and Chuck Hansen. The four were praised as the saviors of humanity, Mako and Raleigh were toured around the world to give interviews and deliver memorial services in Australia and Great Britain for their comrades deaths, they were the most famous people in the world.
The world began to rebuild and start anew, the devastation of the now referred to as the "The Kaiju War" or "KW" was starting to become a thing of the past, though it left its mark.In the year 2040 All remains of Jaeger technology were seized by the UN and taken to Anchorage, the government told the public that they were being melted down and be used for more memorials and more great monuments to the war, but the truth is unknown to most...
August 3rd 2038. Lomonosov Ridge, Arctic Ocean. They came knocking once more.
The event had been predicted a year before by Hermann Gottlieb, who at the time was demonstrating the maths behind his predicted triple event. The world powers reacted by stationing ICBM's and nuclear weaponry at various points at the northern hemisphere. They came from the rift, five of them; three Cat. II's and two Cat. IV's. The world was lucky, it took three hours and the combined power of four nuclear warheads to take down the beasts. The Kaiju were back, but Earth would not wait for them this time. It was time to knock back.

The Kaiju are back, Earth is ready to fight back harder. The Kaiju will be bigger and scarier and the Jaegers will be bigger with more weapons.
