Sherlock had been in an accident. He hadn't really intended for that to happen. Only that it was just a set back in solving cases. Staying in hospital was not something he enjoyed, He had gotten bored quite quickly, soon as he was actaully awake enough to be aware of his surroundings . That was when he had enough and wanted to get out. Even if he was feeling rather weak and sore.
He knew that John and Mrs Hudson were worried about him, due to the fact his injuries had been rather serious. He had felt terrible. Though he had been annoying everybody else just because he was miserable.

Though Sherlock was let out of the hospital after a week. He wasn't himself again yet. But he was determied to get back to work. He had missed his cases and was itching to get back to them.
"Sherlock nobody will judge you if you take a break," John told him.
"I don't need a break John , I have already been in the hospital too long. " Anything that interupted with his cases was considered too long. If he wasn't dead then he was going to carry on. He didn't seem aware of the fact that he had nearly died. He knew that he had been taken to the hospital by John. He also wasn't aware that he was going to be forced to work with somebody he didn't want to work with.

"Sherlock !" John begged. getting no answer he sighed "Oh what ever , just be careful, I have work to do at the hospital and I don't want you back there." Dr John Watson said firmly before heading off.
Sherlock frowned when Lestrade called him saying he had to come down to the police station and met this new detective. He didn't like the idea of that. He got in the cab He hoped that he wasn't going to be forced to work with them.
If they thought he needed extra help they were crazy. John was his only parnter on a case, or he worked alone. He didn't need another detective. He was already the best there was. He had his arms crossed looking at Lestrade when he walked in.

"You can do it. You can do it, Mae" Mae talked to herself. Her hands on the edge of the sink, and her eyes on her own reflection in the mirror. She was nervous, and talking to herself in the ladies toilet wasn't going to help. But who wouldn't be nervous? She got to meet Sherlock, the famous Sherlock Holmes. And that wasn't all, she even got to work with him. She swallowed, still finding it hard to believe. But Lestrade insisted that she was going to work with him. She could still hear his words: "Mae Imogene, you're going to be Sherlock his new partner". But what if Sherlock didn't want a new partner?

She looked into her own blue eyes. Her wavy brown hair up in a high tail as strands of hair let loose over her ears. Mae was a short detective -- after years of training she was now officially a detective. Not super thin with her hourglass figure, little pugs kind of nose and a dimple in her chin. Mae took a good look of herself. Perhaps she also lacked a good tan. To add some color to her pale look she used make up, minimum make up, but the mascara, blush and the soft coloured red lipstick made her look less sick.

But she realized that she deserved this chance. This year had been a tough year for her so far. Her father passed away after they discovered cancer. Lung cancer, while he never touched a cigarette in his life. Her mother wasn't handling it so well as she hoped. But that wasn't all, her relationship of 4 years had ended last month. Both were things she didn't wanted to talk about. Mae hated to talk about her personal life. It wasn't interesting, and she would only bore people.

But why did she became a detective? You could blame her father and sherlock for that. Her father was a detective as well. She always loved watching him work, and she new it was something she wanted to be a detective too when she grew up. But when she saw Sherlock his work? Mae was sold for good. One day she was going to be almost as good as Sherlock.

"Sherlock!" Lestrade said, looking at him as he walked up to the detective. "How are you feeling?" He paused for a moment. "I bet you're glad that you're finally out of the hospital? Are you sure you can work again" he asked him with a serious look on his face. He wanted Sherlock to be healthy again in order for him to work again. But he knew that that wasn't Sherlock. So Lestrade found him a detective. One who hopefully wouldn't get run over by Holmes his behavior.

"Before we discuss a case I may have for you. I want you to meet someone" he saw Mae walking towards his office through the glass windows. "Her name is Mae. She worked her ass off become a detective. So please be nice to her" he said right before she walked in.

Her heels clicked on the floor. She was wearing just her normal clothes. She wasn't a cop anymore, Mae was a detective now. And Sherlock wore his own clothes too. She didn't see the problem. The young woman had her hands in the pockets of her tight jeans. With on top of that a black blazer that kept her warm and a simple grey shirt.

"Hi..." Mae spoke to both the men, not sure if she interrupted anything. She quickly turned to Sherlock to introduce herself and held her hand out to him to shake his. "My name is Mae Imogene. I was asked to work for you" it was obvious by know that she had said yes. She sounded a bit shy, but she was anything but shy. Sherlock would find out soon that she could be just a bitch as he could be.

Sherlock grunted when Lestrade asked him how he was feeling. In truth Sherlock wasn't feeling that great yet, he didn't want to let Lestrade know that. He was still somewhat sore and in pain. But he had never let that stop him, "I'm fine." He said sharply."Of course I am glad to be out of hospital , I was dying of boredom." He was looking off out the window.
He didn't want to talk about his health. He was finding that rather dull. He just wanted to get to the case.

"Of course I am well enough to work, I'm not dead," The detective said firmly. Even if anybody said anything, nobody could really stop him from wanting to work. He still had awhile before he would be ok, and truth was he was a bit tramuatized from the accident, but he didn't let it show. He also refused to even admit that he had nightmares. He wasn't fully ok, but he would never let anybody know that.
The detective grunted when Lestrade said he had somebody for him to meet.
He didn't need anybody to help him. He only ever really tolerated John. John was his friend, he didn't mind him.

Anybody else Sherlock saw as a threat and another detective was a threat to his job. He eyed her. The male detective was trying to read her. He knew he was pretty good at that.
"Sherlock Holmes. Though suppose you know that." He didn't sound that pleased to be meeting her, He knew he wasn't. Work for me? More like try take over the case he thought bitterly.
He was feeling quite threatened. He glared at Lestarde a bit. He didn't like anybody who he would see as getting in his way. The detective winced and leaned on the wall. He hadn't even had breakfast yet. He knew he was always nagged about the fact he should eat.

To Sherlock though eating just slowed him down. He seemed bored. He looked at Lestrade "So the case?" He asked trying to pretend like Mae wasn't there. He knew he was stuck with her.
Something he wasn't too happy about. He hoped that after this case or sooner than that he could get her out of the way. He was the detective here who did most of the cases, he didn't need her, He didn't seem to have paid attention to Lestrade telling him yo be nice to her, He was trying to ingore the pain from his still healing injures. He was determined to not end up back in hospital.

Mae would never take over a case. She wasn't good enough, let alone smart enough. Holmes didn't had to worry about that. But she wasn't John either. It was going to be difficult to work with Sherlock. It was going to be a challenge, and hopefully she could handle it. The woman sighed, pulling her hand back that Sherlock didn't shake. Was he trying to read her? She looked at Lestrade who only shrugged a little.

"Right, the case" Lestrade gave him a map with some information in it. Mae on the other side didn't bother to look into it. She already had.

"Two people have been murdered the same way, in one week" Lestrade spoke. They were expecting more murders, but the few clues they had it didn't lead them anywhere. "They are hanged on a tree in public. But they have been murdered before that" Lestrade said. "Both were men, somewhere between thirty and forty" he continued. "We got a letter that there is going to be another one" he spoke. The letter was in a map. It was a letter written with a typewriter. "The bodies are in the morgue if you want to see them"

Mae had listened to Lestrade and watched Sherlock. He didn't look that good, so big chance he wasn't feeling good either. She wasn't sure whether to offer him some breakfast or not.

She held the door open en smiled at Lestrade. "Let's go" Mae said. "First stop, the morgue?" She guessed at Sherlock. Maybe he wanted to see the bodies first. "Or do you need breakfast first?" She gave him a friendly smile, her eyes looking up to him. She meant no harm, that was obvious.

"Just so you know. I'm not going to take over your cases. Or trying to be a second John" Mae spoke. "Nor aren't you going to get rid of me so easily. So just suck it up, yea?" She finished her sentence. Awaiting a response from Sherlock.

Sherlock was clearly annoyed, He was sure it was going to be struggling to even want to work with her. It was never easy for him to even deal with new people. He had never been good with people.
He was just waiting for Lestrade to get on with explaining the case. He hoped it was something interesting. He was rather bored with normal conversations right now. He leaned on the wall tapping his foot.

"Mmph." The detective muttered. He knew he was never patient with people. He couldn't help that, He was just Sherlock. He was also easily bored if the subject wasn't about cases. His interest sparked when the case was mentioned.
"Ah finally something interesting, " He returned his gaze from the window back to Lestrade.
"There has to be a reason that it was only men." His mind seemed to be working hard. He was trying to see what he could work out from that infomation. He knew he needed to see more of the evidence of the murders.
He knew he always worked it out in the end. Even when it was hard Sherlock could make it look easier than it was.

"Of course I want to see them, " Sherlock rolled his eyes and looked at Lestrade. He needed to, it helped give him clues. He knew he could work out alot from seeing the bodies. He was ingoring the pain that he was in. He could take a painkiller, but he wanted his mind to be clear. He also was to busy worrying about the case to be worried about his own pains. The detective was looking at her "Food slows me down, don't need breakfast."
He knew that wasn't true, he was rather hungry, but he wasn't giving into it, He hardly ever did. John sometimes had to force him, or hunger got too much and he gave in and got food, but he mostly waited until after cases.

Yeah right Sherlock thought, he didn't want to believe her there. Working with another detective wasn't something that could go well in his opinion. "Nobody can be a second John." John was his best friend and nobody else had ever meant that much to him. He was so terrible and making friends, He knew he probably couldn't be friends with Mae so easily.
He huffed "Your stuck with me, I don't have to like it." There was a harshness to his voice. He knew there was no way that he could be ok with this at all. He was looking around . He doubted he even needed the help.

"Right. If you collapse from the hunger. I'll call John" Mae said. She couldn't convince him that she wasn't going to take over a case. But hopefully he would eat anytime soon. The female detective looked at the watch around her wrist. It was big, perhaps too big for her. It was obviously a male watch that was worn by someone else first. It was almost 11 am. This was going to be a long day...

"Then at least pretend you like it, and I won't stand in your way" Mae added as they made their way to the morgue. Dead bodies. She hated dead bodies! She somehow always expected them to open their eyes and come back alive as a zombie.

Mae brushed some hair out if her face, following Sherlock as they made their way into the morgue.

"Hi Philip" Mae said towards the guy in the morgue. He was a tall, blond handsome guy. But the way Mae spoke, the distance between the two. It was obvious they had a history together. But Mae tried her best to behave normal. They were all adults after all.

Philip nodded back. "Hi" he looked at Holmes. "Morning sir" He spoke friendlier towards him. "You're here for the two male bodies, yes?" He asked. Pointing at the two bodies on the table. He had already prepared them. "Knock yourself out" he said towards Mae and Holmes.

"I won't collaspe from hunger." Sherlock snapped. He narrowed his eyes. He knew John would force him to eat if she called him. He knew that he couldn't go without food too much longer. He knew he hadn't eaten much in hospital either. But he had been feeling too horrible in hospital to eat. But his body did need it at some point. He was sure he could handle awhile longer without.
He hoped she wouldn't be the type to nag him about his health. John did enough of that. He didn't need it from her too. He knew he would just be as stuborn with her as he was with John or anybody else.

"MMph, " Sherlock grunted, He wasn't going to pretend he liked having her around. He couldn't when he wasn't impressed with her being his parnter for this case. He didn't need the extra help. He knew he was getting tired easier since the accident, but he could push that aside for awhile as well. He wasn't that tired yet. He just headed with her to the morgue. Unlike her he wasn't bothered by dead bodies. It was part of the job and could be quite interesting to him. He also knew it was impossible for people to come back as zombies.
He knew she was bothered by it as he could tell she was uncomfortable, He was able to read her easily there.

When they were let in , he looked around "Alright." He knew that Molly worked at the morgue too. But it was her day off. He was glad of that as he didn't want to deal with her today. He looked at Phillip and grunted "Morning." He mumbled, he didn't sound as friendly towards Phillip. Some people were easily upset by him, some were annoyed and some put up with it. He wondered what type Mae would be.
"Uncomfortable around dead bodies are we.?" He said to Mae. He wasn't sure how she wanted to be a detective if she was bothered by dead bodies. He was looking rather serious as he began to examine the bodies. There was alot going through his head right now.

"I'm more uncomfortable around exes" Mae said with a smirk. Ignoring the Philip who was looking at her. Mae had dumped him, he found dead bodies more interesting than her, and that was the end of it. While he really was a nice guy. But there was no future between those two.

"I just gave a big imagination, or a big fantasy. How ever you want to call it" she laughed a little. Looking at the corpses that were still covered by a blanket. "Perhaps I watched too many movies" she shrugged. "I'll survive. Maybe I'll get over it one day" she smiled and looked at the faces of the death man. Their eyes were closed -- and they better stayed close too.

When Mae noticed he was examining the bodies. She stayed quiet. Maybe he found it better that she kept her mouth shut while his brains were working hard. She opened her mouth to say something, but then her mouth closed again. Maybe it was better to say nothing.

She quietly and carefully looked over the bodies. Examining the bodies, and in her other hand the files over the body that had all the information in them from the autopsy. At first sight there didn't seem anything out of the ordinary. So she slowly walked passed the corpse, one by one for a few times.

"This one is missing a ring, but there is no ring. Nor in his files" she pointed at the ring finger of one of the victims. Why would this guy take his ring off, or why was it taken off? Could it be a woman? A theory popped up in her head, but she kept quiet.

Mae had rubber gloves on her hands, touching some of the victims as she had a closer look.

"Sherlock...." Her eyes looked up to him. Expecting him to shush at her. "I hate to disturb you but..." She swallowed. "It looks like something is stuck in this wound. Something small" she said. Giving him an opportunity to find it, so she didn't had to go around picking in a wound.

"The other one... I'm not sure if he died by his wounds or what the killer did to him" she said quietly. Closing the flies that she had in her hand. "His wounds aren't that heavy as this guy. "He's already pretty old -- 57, he could have died by a heart attack because the wounds and the pain got him too much?" She moved her shoulders up and down. Something seemed off. "Just a suggestion" she added quickly.

"What do you think?" She asked quickly.

"Yeah well zombies are highly impossible." Sherlock explianed. He was looking at her "Plus you will need to get used to dead bodies if you want to be a detective." He didn't know any detective who was not fine with looking at bodies. At least expect for Mae so far.
He wasn't really impressed with that. Really he knew that was another reason that he was better than her. Maybe she wouldn't try take over this case after all. But he still felt threatened. He couldn't help it.
He always did around other detectives really.

Sherlock was in deep thought, he too noticed the ring finger that should had a ring on it. He was trying to go to his mind palace. [i}Married? was the killer woman, former parnter going after her previous lovers [/i] alot was going through Sherlocks head, If that was the case, they must have done something to anger her. Or maybe the women was just crazy. Sherlock seemed confident that the killer was a woman, but he knew that he needed more evidence.
"Shut up, I'm trying to think," When she pointed out what he too had seen. Now wasn't the best time to point out anything. He was thinking and didn't want to be interuppted.

After she had finished he looked at her "I think the killer is women, possibly going after her previous lovers for some reason." he stated. "They must have really angered her. Unless she is downright insane,"
He was tapping his foot and looked some more "But I think your right about the ring." Sherlock seemed to be thinking best he could. He was in pain but he knew that he could fight that, the excitement of the case made the easier.
Sherlock was looking at the older man "Or posion.." he noticed something was off . He was very intent on picking up things. "I don't think it was a heartattack."

"Then they must have been some serious jerks if she killed them and to hang them in public" Mae said with a smirk. But if the killer was a woman... Women could be so angry for no real reason, or over something silly. Mae could never kill someone. It was simply not in her nature.

"But I don't read anything in the files about possible poison" Mae said. "Wouldn't that leave trails in the blood?" She guessed. With a confused look she watched Sherlock. She didn't know that much about poisons, so hopefully Sherlock did.

Mae looked at the bodies, and laid the files back on the table. She didn't expect Sherlock to need them. "You want to talk to their ex girlfriends?" Mae asked. "Or anyone they had contact with before they died?" Her eyes looked around the room, back at Philip who was busy doing some work, but so now and then be was looking up at them, at Mae. She wasn't stupid, she had noticed that. An annoyed sigh escaped her lips.

"Or watch the crime scene?" Maybe there was something that they had missed. Or perhaps he wanted to split up. But Mae didn't trust it just yet. He looked pale, probably needed food, and maybe he was in pain too. No way she was going to leave him alone. She had promised John to look after him too. She didn't want to break a promise.

Sherlock was looking at her "Mmm yeah maybe, " He was thinking for awhile. He was wondering what reason a women killer would have to kill these men. He knew that women were senstive at least he thought so. He wasn't sure what else at this point.

"Mmm files... not always enough, I am smarter than alot of the people who write those files. Plus because everybody are idoits thats why the call me. Some posions don't leave an easy trace to detect."
He knew alot about posions compared to her. At least Sherlock was sure he did. He seemed to always point out that he knew more than others. He always saw the police as morons for not been able to work out all this. But yet he loved the cases.

The detective was looking at her "Yes speaking to any of them would be helpful, we do need more evidence and to find if they have any motives." he was still annoyed about working with her , but that was a good idea. It was usaully what he did. He still didn't think she was as good as him. He refused to even consider that. He knew she would have noticed his paleness. He was dizzy from lack of food but still ingoring that.
Sherlock was known to push himself to breaking point. He did carry on till his body couldn't handle anymore. It annoyed John. He just hoped that he wouldn't be nagged more about his health right now.

He looked at his phone , he saw there was a text from John. He narrowed his eyes. He knew that John was going to check up on him. He always knew that John worried about him when he wasn't him self. The text read;

How is the case going? I hope you are being nice to here , Also don't push your self - JW

I'm not pushing myself Sherlock thought annoyed. Well actaully he was in ways. But he never seemed to admit to that. He also didn't want to. He thought he was perfectly fine carrying on as he was. He quickly replied to John.
He knew John would be annoyed that he had ingored the last part of the message, But he didn't want to be nice to Mae , nor say how it was going with her.

Its going Fine - SH.

"Alright!" Mae spoke. "Want to grab some coffee on the way?" She asked. It wasn't food, but it was better than nothing, and maybe the caffeine would be good for him. "I'll pay" tho, she was more of a tea person.

She waited until Sherlock was done reading and responding to his text.

"How's John doing?" She asked friendly. Just being interested in him and John. They had been on cases together for such a long time. She understood that Holmes rather had John than her. But Lestrade and John had both warned her. Mae thought it wouldn't be so bad and had waved those warnings away.

Mae looked at her watch. It was already 2pm. Time went by so fast while they were busy. She felt her stomach grumbling. She hadn't eaten since this morning, and she was getting pretty hungry. And hunger made her moody. How could Sherlock survive being hungry?

Then she suddenly felt her cellphone vibrating in her pocket. It was a text message from John. A small smile curled her lips as she was reading it:

Is he being nice to you? - JW

She closed her phone, what did John really think? Of course he wasn't. So Mae didn't bother to reply back to Johns text message.

"Coffee, ok I suppose." Sherlock's stomach growled again. He knew that his stomach betrayed him alot of the time he tried to say he didn't need food. He knew that he couldn't hide his hunger much longer. The detective was groaning a bit from pain as well.
"MMmph he didn't say, he asked about the case and my health," he muttered , leaving out the part where John had asked if he was being nice to her. He didn't see why he had to mention all that. He was sure that John would be annoyed at him later.

He knew that they would have alot of work to do with the case. Sherlock barely intended to stop. Even stoppimg for coffee would be putting him behind a bit. He knew that he was a bit tired and coffee might help.
He still didn't intended to eat anything, unless somebody forced him. He wasn't sure if Mae had the strength to even force him to eat anything. He was looking around as they left the morgue. He wasn't even thinking that she would be hungry either. He figured she would ask to stop for food if she was hungry.

Sherlock was looking around. He was more focused on the case than anything else. He was deep in thought and forgot she was even by him for a moment. He knew that he barely thought about others.
"John text you too didn't he." He knew that the fact her phone had gone off, after he failed to answer John fully could only mean he had probably text her the same thing. He gasped from pain a bit.

Mae smirked as they left the morgue, and heard Sherlocks question. "why do you want to know?" She asked. She hadn't replied back to John his text.

"Why don't you take painkillers?" Mae asked as they were walking. The crime scene wasn't too far, and it gave her a chance to grab a coffee and a tasty sandwich. Oh god, she was so hungry. She could eat a thousands of sandwiches if she wanted to.

She walked into the nearest coffee shop, and asked for two coffee. And as they waited, Mae looked out of the window. For a few seconds her thoughts wandered off. She didn't mean to nag Sherlock about his health. But if he was in pain, then why didn't he take painkillers? It was almost too pathetic too watch.

"Oh, can I also have one of those sandwiches out of the oven?" She suddenly asked. "Yep, to-go please" they had to wait another few minutes, and Mae paid for the coffee and the sandwich. "Sugar or milk?" She asked. Mae drank her coffee black. She dislikes sugar or milk in her coffee.

The sandwich in the other hand smelled delicious and it filled the whole store. It smelled like pizza, but better. Oh god, she couldn't wait to take a bite from it. But she wasn't planning to sit here, but to take it with her instead.

"Because I just guessed he text you because I didn't answer him properly." Sherlock was always able to work things out. He knew that he wouldn't get infomation out of her like that if she didn't want to tell him. He could always try though. But he was probably likely to annoy her anyway.
He walked by her. The detective knew that everybody mostly couldn't really stand him.

"Painkillers? I don't need them, plus I'm on the case. I need a clear head." He didn't even want to get sleepy, or unfocused. He closed his eyes and tried to ingore the pain again. He kept walking by her till they got to the cafe.
"Sugar." he said. He didn't want milk in his tea. At least not this time.
The detective was looking at her, he saw her order a sandwhich. He wasn't ordering any food.

Even as his stomach growled when he saw the sandwhich . He was looking at her . He yawned a bit. "I don't know how you can eat when there is a case." he didn't seem to act like a normal human. It was almost if he forgot thet he was sometimes.
He didn't see that skipping meals was a bad thing, no matter how much John told him off.

Mae took a bite off her sandwich. "That's because I'm normal" Mae answered him after she swallowed and gave him the sugar for his coffee. "If I start skipping meals like you do, you'll regret it, and I would need a new wardrobe" she replied. "Want a bite?" She joked, and held the sandwich close to his face so he could smell it. He had to eat sometime, right? Mae laughed.

So he didn't wanted painkillers because he needed to stay clear? Mae sighed and shook her head. "There ate other alternatives for the regular painkillers we usually use" the detective said as they were walking. Her short legs busy to keep up with Sherlock. He was longer than her, and faster. But she could keep up. "Ginger is known is release pain. But it's disgusting" she usually made tea out of it when she had the flu and it usually worked.

"John texted me to ask if you were nice to me" Mae said. "I'm pretty sure he already knows the answer. So I don't know why he's asking me" she continued after she swallowed another bite from her sandwich. "That's why I don't reply back" she moved her shoulders up and down like she didn't really care. John was a nice guy, but he had to know that Sherlock was an adult and he could take care of himself, even if sometimes it looked like he couldn't.

Sherlock was looking at her. He didn't see himself as not normal, just more clever than everybody really. He huffed at her comment. He didn't need to be normal anyway. He was looking annoyed when she waved the sandwhich in his face.
"I don't need to eat as often." He said firmly. His stomach was still growling in protest.
He wondered partly if he should go get some food. Not when she was around. He didn't want to give in infront of her.

He was drinking his coffee "Like I said, don't need them." he knew he was being stubborn. He knew he was feeling rather dizzy and sick from not eating. He looked at her, he sighed there was no way he could get away from her just yet.
So he seemed to continue being stuborn about whether he needed anything. He knew that it would probably start to annoy her. But he didn't really care. He wondered if she would put up with it or whether it would drive her off.

Sherlock huffed, well of course John knew the answer. He didn't really care what John thought about this sitution. He didn't want to work with Mae and that was final. He liked John, but sometimes John did push him into things he didn't want to do.
So being nice to some new detective wasn't going to happen. Sherlock always drove alot of people away, it was probably the reason he stayed single not allowing anybody to fall in love. He had pushed away Molly when she had feelings for him. It was like he couldn't recongize such feelings.

"But being normal is overrated anyway" Mae joked with a wink in his direction. "Perhaps I like my men to be... Not normal?" She chuckled, was she hitting on him? She wasn't even sure herself. But if he was going to be so cranky, she at least could have some fun -- she decided. Annoy him a bit, just as he annoyed her back. Win - win, right?

"If you decide to eat, this sandwich is heavenly" Mae said. She finished her sandwich and threw the paper in a trashcan, followed by an empty cup. "But hey, I ain't forcing you. John will make you regret it when he sees you" she had a smile on her face. "I'm not a nanny. But I hope you figured that out already" there was a sly smile on her face. She was totally just joking around. Of course he knew that Mae wasn't a nanny, and she wasn't going to watch him whether he ate or drank. "I don't get paid enough to be your nanny" she huffed.

Her eyes looked into the distance, the crime scene was there. They were getting closer.

"Molly had a day off today?" Mae knew Molly, they went along pretty well. Even went out for a drink together once. Molly was nice and friendly. Perhaps a tad neurotic and a bit chaotic. But overall a sweet woman.

"Is she still dating that guy who has the same scarf as you...?" Mae pretended to think. Wondering how Holmes was going to respond. "Hmmm... I don't know. He seemed pretty nice tho" she continued. "How's the coffee?" A change of subject as they approached the crime scene.

Sherlock seemed to ingore those comments. He didn't seem to realise she was flirting to annoy him. He was focused on other things. Mainly to do with the case. He wasn't going to even pay attention to flirting, he wasn't even sure what it was.
He knew that being normal was overrated. Well at least it was to him. He found normal people downright dull.

"Shut up, I don't want to hear how good it is." The detective was getting sharp with her. He was feeling a bit miserable from hunger. He knew that he needed to get away from her before he could get any food.
His stomach was growling badly, He closed his eyes. He knew that he was going to loose it.
The detective was struggling to handle his hunger even more than normal now. He knew it was getting close to goint to long without food.

"I didn't ask for a Nanny." Sherlock snapped. He knew that he didn't need one. He was doing ok without looking after himself. He was looking at her. The detective huffed and he walked still. He knew John would make him regret it.

"Yeah she is having a day off, she normally does today." Sherlock replied. He looked at her "I think she is." he didn't seem to bother with Molly's private life all that much. He was thinking.
The detective continued to walk by her. Sherlock was feeling tired, he was not letting that win either. He knew since his accident he had been exhuasted easily. He knew he was still healing.

"I almost don't have the guts to ask. But you look like you're about to fall down" Mae said. "You sure you don't need food, or sit down?" Mae smirked and held her head up "- never mind. I already know the answer. Don't bother answering" she sighed and shook her head.

They arrived at the crime scene. There was no police anymore, but the 'don't enter, crime scene' ribbons were still hanging there. Most of the blood traces and things had been cleaned up by the police. It would be a miracle if they found anything, but Sherlock had good eyes. Mae was sure he found something, even if it was something small. She looked at her watch, 4pm. How long was Sherlock planning to get busy on this case? She was thinking for a moment. She didn't really care. There was nothing to do at her own place anyway.
