Cossette woke up in her one room condo, opening her large window while her fluffy black cat wandered around meowing at her to fill her bowl, which she did. She hummed while she showered and got ready for work, her long red hair flowed down her shoulders in waves along with her emerald eyes. She threw on her shoes and headed down to the local coffee shop where he she worked. All of her recent customers waved to her and she smiled back before heading behind the counter to start her shift.

Garrick woke screaming. The same as every night for the past twelve years. He sat up and patted out the little black flames that had singed his bed slightly, "Damn..." He stood up and stretched a bit before stumbling into the bathroom and taking a shower and then drying off. "I need coffee..." Ever since he had discovered coffee he had been somewhat of an addict. "Theres that one coffee shop a few blocks over...I haven't been there yet..." Garrick threw on a wife-beater and his leather coat before going out of his house and taking off for the coffee shop. By the time he got there he was really in need of Coffee and so he stumbled inside slowly and tripped up to cashier, "Black with a touch of mocha please." Suddenly his senses went into over drive, there was a demon in the room but...where.

She was doing her usual cleaning, and making a few drinks. She then walked out to the tables and placed the drinks on the right table before her head popped up and she looked around the room. That's not right. Had she not put up the barrier? She looked outside to see the silver lining around the cafe that kept demons out, well human feeding demons yet a demon was surely in the same room. Without being able to pin point it, she shrugged but stayed cautious while she walked up to the counter once more and took the mans order of the black coffee with a hint of mocha. Huh, that was an interesting combination. "Oh okay, would you like whipped cream on that?" She turned to smile at the pale, and dark haired young man.

Garrick nodded slowly, "yes please." He looked around the room, "Have you noticed anything unusual from the customers today?" He reached for the flashlight in his pocket that would transform to his scythe with a single word, "Anything out of the ordinary...Strange eye colors...Words...even weird feelings perhaps?" Garrick could feel the Demon and the moment he pinpointed it he would kill it...weather humans could see him or not.

Cossette panicked immediately, not knowing exactly what to do she grabbed the hand holding the scythe and dragged the stranger to the back room before customers looked at the mishap. "Shh. You can't just pull out scary weapons in front of the public in broad daylight." She breathed heavily, closing the door behind them then leaning her back against it. "I am the demon you're sensing.. which means you're the demon I'm sensing." She took a deep breath, the middle of her chest began to grow as she pulled from it a chain with curved knives at the end, she stood in a offensive stance. "So what are you doing in my territory. Before he could answer she whipped around sending one of the blades towards the middle of his chest.

"Derza" Garrick spun hard to the side and grabbed his double scythe mid air and kicked of the girls chest and landed about 2 feet away since the back room was small, "I am here to slay you...Demon." He started spinning his scythe and looking into her eyes, "Those who would feed on the lives of others...Must meet eternal damnation!" Garrick Rolled forward and slashed upwards spinning his scythe so that if it hit it would cut through her multiple times.

She wanted to roll her eyes, he was a demon too! She slid her chain back in to her hand to block the kick, where the chain became his stepping stone before he began running towards her throwing deadly blows towards her as she finally processed what he said. "I don't feed off--" The blade cane towards her where she blocked the blows except one that sliced acrossed her shoulder, she winced but ignored it by dipping under him and pushing fast off the ground to end up on the other side. "Speak for yourself!" She swung her blade in a 'X' motion. "I only kill blood sucking demons like you!"

Garrick blocked hard with his Scythe but still he took a nice cut to the chest, "Wait...What..." Garrick stepped back, "You kill demons to?" He let his scythe slump a little, "Like...the kind who feed on humans?" His eyes were golden right now as his black wings unfolded on their own because of his curiosity.

She dropped the chain to her waist and slumped, her breath was a bit heavy. "Yes... I kill demons.... Who kill humans.." She let herself fall against the door while she gripped the side of her shoulder where the gash was beginning to ooze. "Well.. I won't be working today." She looked back up at him, his wings were black but were quite beautiful, she had wings but she could barely get off the ground with them so she simply pretended they didn't exist. She also had a tai-- Nope, not going there either. "Can we please go back to being human, I really like this job." She looked at her hand covered in blood as her chains began to vanish.

Garrick put Derza away and looked at the girl, "Uh yeah sure..." he stepped forward and laid his hand on her wound which then closed up quickly, "I'm sorry for my hotheadedness I usually deal with bloodthirsty Demons who hunt humans...I never would have guessed...Well that i wasn't alone..." Garrick let his wings disappear and he stood there for a moment, "I'm Garrick." Garrick in Hellspeak meant, "The Raven" and Garrick knew she would understand who he was that moment. Garrick the terrible...Slayer of the human armies of ancient Persia. That was all true but what most didn't know was that the great and terrible Garrick had simply been a slave obeying orders.

She hissed as he closed the wound but the pain quickly faded. "Thanks." she mumbled while looking at her new blouse ripped across the shoulder. She then looked up and gave a half confused smile. "You don't have to worry about it, I was the same way." She blinked as he mentioned his name, her eye brows wrinkled upwards. "Oh, so you're the real deal." She shrugged, people had passes and she had one of her own. Maybe not as extreme as that or she pretends it's not. She decided not to mention anything that would connect to her past, but at the same time, not many demons were named Cossette, actually only the empire of the northern hemisphere had a daughter named Cossette, but why-- why would that have to do with her? She's normal, normall. She became awkward and turned from the door and then back to him. "Would you still like that coffee? I could make it, but then I think it'd be best if we both leave." Another slayer huh? Interesting.

Garrick smiled a bit akwardly, "Um...Its kind of an addiction of mine...I could really use the Coffee...and then I'll hit the road." Garrick looked at her she was pretty, but he was hung up on her name where had he heard it? It was on the tip of his tongue but he just couldn't place it, "I didn't want to hurt all those humans back then...I didn't have a choice." His eyes were dull and somewhat cold as if the life had been drained from him.

She smiled and shrugged, coffee was a weakness of hers too. She's make herself a Java chip flap before they left, whipped cream on both. She stopped with her fingers clutching the door knob. She didn't face him as he spoke, her body turned enough for her to look back in to his eyes. "And I wished I hadn't destroyed so many innocent souls.." She paused with begging eyes but they soon flashed expressionless as she twisted the handle and entered back in to the cafe. Luckily they were over staffed for the day and her disappearances were the norm. She whipped up the coffee and then walked up to Garris and handed him his coffee. She then squirmed awkwardly, should she ask if he wanted to come over? Would that be weird? But her mouth vomited the words faster than she could decide. "Do you want to come over?" She paused and her face grew red, that sounded too perverted. "For lunch?" She concluded.

Garrick combed through his hair with his right hand, "Uh...Sure...I'd love to..." Garrick realized right then just how beautiful she was and his face turned a bit red, "Lunch sounds nice...I haven't really hung out with anyone..." He wanted to say since the day in Rome but the memories were like poison and talking about them made him sick, "Since forever..." He smiled and followed her. "Well...Lead the way I suppose."

She smiled, glad that he hadn't taken her invitation the wrong way. She wanted to admit that she hadn't hung out with people at all either, but at the same time she liked being alone. She turned and began to trudge down the sidewalk on the busy streets of NY. She walked beside him but kept her distance, they did just try to kill each other. Her condo was only a block and a half away, the sky was bright so no lingering demons would be out at this time of day which made living bearable for a slayer. She led him up a flight of stares and in to her one room house, the large window that showed the streets lit up the entire room. A bed and night stand with a few books sat under the window, the floor was black wood while the small kitchen was white counter tops and black and white tile. "It's small but cozy." She sighed as she walked in and moved so he could walk in further.

Garrick followed close behind but still somewhat far away. She lead him down a block and a half to an apartment complex. Then she proceeded to lead him up the stairs to a small but rather cozy apartment with a small but nice kitchen and a window overlooking the city, "This place is lovely...And i"m used to being super cozy..." He smiled at her, "My apartment isn't much bigger believe it or not."

She looked around her room. "I never liked large houses, they always made it lonely." She looked around her room as if she was picturing herself somewhere else, some spoiled princess she was to have four or five rooms this size, but she liked the size of this, simple and well, cozy. She walked in to the kitchen and pulled out two glasses, then began to pull out ingredients for a rice omelets even though it was lunch, she knew it'd be a great treat. "Would you like tea, water, coffee, or juice." She opened her fridge and peaked in. "There is also soda in here if you'd like some." She turned and smiled again. Why did she feel so comfortable around him, she had never met a demon she got along with or could be in the same room for more than ten minutes with.

"Tea if it isn't to much trouble please..." Garrick picked up a book and then sat it back down before sitting onto the bed and looked around. This was nothing like Lord Asteroth's palace, but the most major difference to him was that this place seemed to radiate a peaceful aura and it slowly brought a smile to Garrick's face. He watched her closely realizing this was the first demon he ever felt comfortable around. "You are unlike any Demon i have met before..."

She nodded and walked in to the kitchen, she only had loose teas so she quickly heated up a pot of water and waited for it to come to a boil, then she scooped some tea in to the steeper before turning around to Garrick's comment. She smiled and slumped her shoulders. "Funny thing, I was thinking the same." But at the same time she was still cautious, demons had all sorts of ways to trick you and to deceive you, though she didn't feel that with him it which was more terrifying. She tucked her hair behind her ear, turning back to steep the tea and brought the cups over with a small plate of sugar cubes and honey. She set it on the night stand and hesitated before sitting on the bed next to him. "I guess I should get more furniture in here." She mumbled.

"A bed is all I have as well truth be told."Garrick blushed, having once been a house slave he had been used for pleasure by many different people men and women alike. But this...Sitting with a beautiful woman on her bed simply talking seemed so much more sensual than anything he had ever experienced, "I am truly sorry for striking you...I feel like an older version of me broke through for a moment...and...I am sorry."
