Our world has this sad, terrifying routine. With almost regular intervals, the people of this world are faced with bloody war, whether it be to the east, the west or wherever in between. We see the horrible power of everything from a relatively tiny pistol to a gargantuan cannon network, from a fighter jet to a flying aircraft carrier. We see our homes lost and new lands won, lands lost and our homes returned. We have seen our fair share of heroes, but, when you put it in perspective, I guess that relies on which side you're on?
However, no matter how terrible, everything has its end. At the end of every storm, there's sunlight, and we have thus also fallen into a routine of moments of blissful, but fleeting peace.
With the end of the Leasath-Aurelia War, only a few months ago, the world saw peace once again. During this time, it was decided, to calm the nerves of worried military officials, soldiers and civilians alike, to hold a combined wargame-sporting event. Called 'The International Peace Games', it consisted not only of sporting events but also of military wargames. Many praised the idea as a wonderful way for nations who would normally be at odds to peacefully interact with each other and for countries who were already close friends to strengthen their bonds.
Eventually, the day of the event came, beginning with an aerial mock dogfight, but it seemed that even a simple event such as that wouldn't be left alone by the machine of war...

So the starting point is a RED FLAG type exercise then?

Exactly. I got the inspiration from reading about the RED FLAG in a military magazine and a bit of Olympics inspiration.

I'm also assuming that twin-seater aircraft require two sheets.

well, if there are two-seaters, maybe one person wants to be the one in the back of anothers plane?

always a possibility!

Can I just get a confirmation of the year we'll be set in for my character sheet? Helps to work out the date of birth, and the relation to previous events in the canon, and whether my character would've been old enough to take part in them.

Also, I had in mind the idea of playing a Marine Corps pilot, rather than an Air Force one. In a similar way to the US Marines have a fixed-wing aviation element. Would that be okay?

Since this takes place a few months after the end of the Leasath-Aurelia War, we would be in early 2021. And yes, Marine Corps is fine.

And yes, unless you want to do the long-lived Ace Combat cliché of silent WSO's, then you'll need a second sheet.

Pun intended?

Well, you can do what I do, choose a bloodtype based on personality of the character at hand. That's usually what they do in anime, games and the like, so that's what I almost always do. For the Rh, just put a plus or minus depending on what you feel suits the character.

xD I did not realize what I did there!

I'll probably just pick a random one. Rh I'll see into that.

also 'Cause, I looked up the blood types on Wikipedie

also already working on my character. I think I'm halfway done.

If you wish.
Little rule I forgot to mention (will add to rules after I get some sleep); all planes with 20mm cannons get 600 bullets in true Ace Combat spirit, 25mm 500 and 30mm and over get 400-300. And as an intermediate between the crazy amounts of missiles in AC and realistic numbers, you carry 25 normal missiles and four maximum "special weapons". I know it's not very realistic, and it might get on some people's nerves (not targeting anyone by saying this), but this is an Ace Combat RP after all.

not much is realistic in video gaming.... why would you want to keep flying back to rearm and refuel every 2-3 minutes?

Exactly my point, but 60 missiles (they even said "reloading" in Ace Combat Infinity XD) doesn't translate well to text. I also don't want people just flying around with dozens of missiles and mopping up kills. There needs to be a bit of urgency in ammunition when it's a roleplay and not a video game, where action is the top priority.
