The Turkey was Pardoned

Part I of The Private I's

A simple beginning to a little series I want to start. I am wanting to have these quick, tabletop-esque challenges with different groups of people solving mysteries. I hope it becomes a fun thing. I'm aiming for a new one each month.

To the interest check.
And here is the dice roller.

You get a call from the police department at about 14:00. Apparently, there's been a murder, and while most would say "Of Thanksgiving of all days!" you know that many murders happen on holidays. You're forced to leave your plans (Or lack thereof) and are called to the crime scene. When you arrive at the ritzy mansion you realise that there are other detectives from your company as well. The police finish taping off the lot and come over to you.

A grumpy-looking chubby officer steps forward with his hands on his hips, obviously a dad that had been interrupted from a family dinner. "We weren't expecting so many of you to show up...that's why we called you all in. I trust that you guys can take care of the rest of this...Everyone on the scene is inside still. I'll have a few boys posted outside to make sure nobody enters or leaves," he plops a heavy stack of papers in your arms, "If you need anything, just call. I'll leave the paperwork up to you guys. Have a happy Thanksgiving," he turns and leaves with most of the squad. Two cop cars are parked outside, each with two people inside.

A female police officer steps out of one of the cars, "I'm Officer Hamilton. Come on, I'll show you where it all is," she leads the group inside, through the large entrance hall. She leads you to the reception room where the family sits, tearful and frightened. There's a single, young police officer sitting in a chair and reading the newspaper. He looks up when the group enters, "Finally, I've been posted here an hour. The crying starts to get really...um..." he focuses his attention toward the group, "Why are there so many private I's here?" he gives an unsure look.

Officer Hamilton puts her hands on her hips, "I'm not taking your post, Chris," he seemed to groan internally at this, "And apparently this case is a difficult one. Cheif is giving all bragging rights and probably making a go-to out of whoever cracks it," she grins back at the group.
"Difficult?" Chris scoffs, "It's easy I say. The maid brought his head on a platter, it's pretty obvious," he shook his head. Hamilton tut-tuts at him, "That will be for them to decide. Now, back to your post." he shuffles his way back into a chair and picks up his paper again.

The roleplay will work a bit like a game of clue. You go around and look at things and at the end of each turn you will make one action, of which I give to you in a PM. You work your reaction into your next post as well as filling in conversation from it. You can make the information public to others or trade it but essentially you're trying to solve it first. I'm expecting it to be a quick one and short posts. You can deviate as much as you'd like. You can sleep with one of the family members for all I care. (Every GM knows the type of player I mean :P )
