Write With Gallus

Introduction

First off - I'm new, but not new (if that makes any sense). Looks like the guild's facing the same kind of trouble which led to its previous collapse, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen (again). Call me Gallus - depending on how you interpret the name, it could mean "rooster", or "reckless individual who's fixin' to be hanged". I'm a laid-back writer with a dark sense of humor, especially about my living with shitty mental illness and general oddness.

Important Information

Writing Quality
High casual to advanced is my writing level; I hate to have to struggle to understand what you're writing, so please don't make me. Bonus if you can write so beautifully that it brings tears to my eyes, or compelling enough that I can see your character being a badass in my head. So yes, I'm kind of a stickler for good writing, but don't let that intimidate you.

Technical Details
Due to the 18+, adult nature of my stories, it's preferable we write via PMs. But since I'm a sucker for good organization, a thread would work fine as well. So I'm happy to go with whatever. If we go via PMs, we will have one PM for OOC, and one for IC so we don't get confused. CSes are not my thing, and neither are anime pictures for character representation.

Characters
I write fierce, action-y characters most of the time. But I also write frightened maidens, jaded cops, paranoid criminals, and a variety of other fictional people. Character diversity is important to me, so occasionally I will write multiple characters. I also don't care what gender I write, so I guess I won't bitch too much if you "only" play male/female.

Romance
Romance is a nice plot element to have, but I don't require it. I'm happy to do MxF, MxM, FxF, but I don't like labelling characters as "dominant" or "submissive" in a relationship because it predetermines a role. Tldr, we can write anything from "21 Jump Street" reboot bro cops to forbidden love in a war-torn kingdom. Note that I dislike cheese, so shit like "I have spent every night aching for you" is unlikely to be said by any of my characters.

Plot Elements
I like gunslinging action, gratuitous violence, dark humor and witty banter, gritty/realistic settings and characters, and similar plot elements. But if we're doing slice-of-life or something without gunfire and explosions at every turn, I like a generous dose of drama and emotional turmoil to make up for that.

Posting Length & Frequency
Since I haven't really gotten my life together yet (pathetic, I know), my posting speed ranges from multiple posts a week to once a week or so. If you see me online, it could be that I'm checking in from the gym or somewhere else, or just chilling. It doesn't mean I'm going to respond, necessarily. So be patient; sending me a thousand messages asking for a reply will result in me not liking you very much. My post length can range from two to ten, depending on how much I have to respond to. I will not force a long post just for the sake of a long post.

Did My Time In Hell
Soldiers face a test of courage in a medieval, modern, or futuristic setting. Whether they're stuck in a war they don't want to be in, or are part of a special forces/black ops squad sent on covert missions, they have to rely on each other to stay alive and return home safe - whether or not they're fighting a hostile nation, monsters, or aliens. Or even demonic creatures from another dimension, "Doom"-style.

Smuggling Run
A normal person's been caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, and now an intergalactic gang wants their head. Making the rash decision to hide themselves aboard a shiny starship, they eventually discover it belongs to an infamous smuggler who charges insane prices to deliver illegal goods to various destinations. Normal person ends up a disgruntled member of the crew.

Here Be Monsters
An unknown virus is spreading in a third world village, turning victims into rabid, super-strong mutants who want nothing more than to rip the nearest living being into shreds. That's all thanks to the secret work of Kovati Pharmaceuticals, who send a highly-trained security team to contain the bioweapon and eliminate all traces of the company's inhumane experimentation.

Conclusion

When you PM me, please have some idea of what you want to roleplay, what gender of character you'd like to play, which character you'd like to play, what pairing you’d like (romantic or non-romantic), and any plot ideas you might have. It'd save us both a lot of time. Do not just send me a "do you want 2 rp?" because then I wouldn't feel obliged to respond.
