I’m female IRL but I can play both male and female characters, so your preference for pairings (I don’t do FxF, however). As for romance, I like it but if it happens it happens as a subplot. Expect mature themes. Posts are quality over quantity; I don’t expect someone to be able to post a book every time. This is also likely to take place over PM.
(Basic) Plot:
They called it the Thresher virus, an aggressive pathogen turning ordinary people into ravenous, cannibalistic killers with enhanced senses. During the initial, horrific outbreak, cities were overrun, governments collapsed, and the last remaining human stronghold was named Sanctuary – a walled haven where no one gets out and no Threshers get in. Then, the first immune survivor surfaced. Scientists began their investigations, eventually managing to make the Thresher virus work with an ‘immune’ host to produce an individual of extraordinary ability; and that was the beginning of the Hunter Corps – elite, part-Thresher soldiers dedicated to furthering humanity’s efforts in reclaiming their world.
Except when they finally did, the people turned against their saviors, perceiving them now as a threat on their own. Slowly, humanity rebuilt; technology advanced, cities reconstructed. Most remaining Hunters were tagged and monitored; those who chose to retire were shunned by their peers and treated as second-class citizens, ‘different’ from ordinary humans. Others still chose a life of solitude in the nuclear-ravaged, irradiated wilds beyond the reach of civilization, eliminating residual pockets of Threshers. The new Central Government slowly tightened its chokehold, establishing Sanctuary Defense (SANDEF) to keep tabs on and exercise control over known Hunters. SANDEF is comprised of former military personnel – highly trained, augmented and equipped – most of whom take a hardliner stance on Hunter freedoms.
But not all Hunters chose to simply fade into the backdrop. Some began to see themselves as superior – an ‘upgraded’ form of ordinary man, and formed the Ascendance Movement to overthrow the ‘cowardly’ Central Government and establish themselves as undisputed rulers in its place. Kidnaps of citizens were commonplace, a method of sourcing suitable candidates for the birth of new Hunters. Eventually the Movement began to execute attacks in public places, striking fear and paranoia into the hearts of citizens and leading the government to declare Hunters ‘terrorists’. The crackdown came swift and hard; show trials and public executions. The Movement shrunk in number, but continued to operate in secrecy.
The RP will involve two characters – one a top SANDEF operative, the other a former member of the dissolved Hunter Corps, perhaps considered a ‘hero’ during the outbreak. The Hunter is captured on suspicion of being part of the Movement and brought in for interrogation, overseen by the operative, who happens to possess Hunter sympathies. Whether the Hunter is really a member of the Movement or not (or possibly even its leader or a kind of ‘double-agent’, working for a secret arm of the government to infiltrate the Movement) can be decided by whomever takes the role. The population has been heavily reduced by the outbreak, and there are large expanses of uninhabited spaces, ruins of old cities etc.
This is a really rough plot at the moment (my muse is sort of flat) and I’m looking for someone to work on it with me, making up twists and conspiracies as we go along and assisting with lore/world-building etc. There will probably also be some overarching plotline forcing the two to work together. There’s also another possibility of making this a group RP, but I haven’t quite decided yet.
