It started at high school, long glances and quiet meetings behind bleachers they lied about. After graduation, Micah moves away and the time they spent together is a distant memory. But, one day, he returns and those memories return full force. Micah's married to a lovely woman and running his own business. A good life. A life he shouldn't throw away over a little childhood crush.

Char B never left town. He stayed in the small, rundown town. He works a normal job, lives a normal, calm life. Until Micah comes back. His life is uprooted and he finds himself feeling emotions he left behind in the bleachers. Their relationship is different, tense and frustrated. The glances return, longer and more heated.

"I'm assuming you drink." Micah murmurs, bringing a glass of wine to his lips and sipping slowly. "If not, I apologize." He hums, setting the glass onto the dining table. "Thank you for coming over for dinner. It's been a while since we had a proper conversation." He glances up at the other man. "The.. wife is out for the week. She's staying with a friend while I finish up a renovation in her bedroom." His gaze shifts at the mention of not sharing a bedroom with his wife, hand reaching for the glass of wine again.

His glasses slide down his nose and he uses his wrist to push them up. His vision isn't stable, tunneled and blurry around the edges, even with the glasses that are thick enough to survive a drop. He clears his throat after a moment, picking at his plate. "The town really hasn't changed." He glances to the man, sipping wine until the glass is empty.
