[OOC] From The Light Darkness Rises: A Medieval Roleplay

Introduction

A city known simply as Krystallem, was starting to get its first rays of the sun as the light hit it's white walls that glimmered and sparkled. The story of Krystallem is simply one of many ,but today we only follow one that will begin very shortly. The city got it's name from the way it was designed, it was a gift from the dwarves to the many races that reside within it. The dwarves put bits of crystal and diamond into its make giving it a beautiful shine that invited people to it. The cinder blocks were all neatly crafted with the best artisans the world have known. The elves may be masters in song writing and silk ,but the dwarves the were masters of the stone work and forging metal to their liking manipulating it. They put their heart and their soul into the city ,but to much of the peoples surprise the dwarves did not stay afterwards. "It's hard getting used to staying above ground....." They had said. A few had indeed stayed ,but not a whole lot. They loved the forges of their mountains too much to live in a city. The people there were left to make into what they saw fit. They made homes, taverns, and stores for their market place. They even out of the request of the mages guild built a building for them there and a church. The church itself was special with many rooms giving freedoms to the many religions. This story will start right here of course, right in the heart of the church's corridors and halls.

The Church of the Gods had opened its doors at its usual time for the people to come inside. Many different shapes and colors could be seen, mostly humans, orcs, half-elves, and many others. They still had a bit of hatred towards some races but they were open to most. The ones they were still getting used to where drow. There was still much hatred towards them due to their races evil deeds. A the head Mage of Krystallem's branch came in with the crowd. He stopped at the great cross towards the other end of the chamber to pray at its alter. Afterwards, he was approached by a tall blond man encased in silver armor. A cross designed into his left breast plate was most intriguing sense it was designed with wings sprouting from it. He nodded to the man. "Ishmael, was it?..." He recalled and Ishmael responded with a nod of his own. The Mage grinned, "I think I found the location of the chalice per the high priest's request." He said. Ishmael's eyes light up and he saw that the Mage had a satchel with scrolls almost falling of it. Ishmael looked to the people within to make sure they were not to interested in their conversation. He then looked back at him and gestured to him, "Come with me Hienrich, Father Daniel will like to hear your findings." He said. Hienrich nodded to Ishmael and followed him out of chamber and into a hallway passing many priests by as they made it to Daniel's private chambers. Ishmael raised his hand to signal for Hienrich to stop. He then used the same hand to knock on the door.

"Come in Ishmael, I have been expecting this visit." They heard from within and Ishmael turned the latch and pushed as they entered. They found Daniel at his desk with several letters on it. He was in the process of applying the churches seal on the back of them when they entered. Hienrich almost galloped to the desk pulling up a chair and placed his satchel on it and picking out a scroll. "After several hours of scrying and research me and a handful of my colleagues finally found its resting place. The Chalice of Silence has been found!" He said rather excitedly as he showed the scroll to Daniel. Daniel took it and unrolled it and his hands began to shake. What he saw was a sketch of a door way. This door had a holy symbol on it which likely was the source of the seal placed on it. It was a powerful seal that could only be for the protection of the chalice. He lowered it and saw Hienrich unrolling another one and showing it to them. It had a detailed sketch of the great chalice sitting on a pedistal. A tear rolled down his cheek as he smiled. "You have found it,... Alright Mage your next task for me will be to send these letters to those who will help you on the quest. Due to my age I will not go with you. Ishmael will act in my stead." Hienrich nodded and bowed to Daniel. "You will not be disappointed in my skills, high priest Daniel." He said as he tossed the letters into the satchel. He then left them alone as he went to proceed with the second step of his mission. The letters would be sent to the people hand picked for this quest. The he would lead. He would even get to work with the legendary Ishmael himself.

The letter will say:
"Dear, (insert character name here),
You have been summoned to Krystallem, by the Great Church and the Mages Guild to go on a great mission. This mission is very important and can very well change the destiny of this world if not carried out. You will be compensated for it with advanced payment and further payment on completion of the mission. A compensation of 250,000 gold in advance and another 250,000 upon completion. If you are interested head for Krystallem and head for the tavern named the Raven. If not interested please burn this letter. Safe Travels.

Races will involve but not limited to D&d 3.5 standards. Classes are also based on d&d standards but limited to only the original classes of: Fighter, Thief, Rogue, Barbarian, Wizard/Sorceror, Ranger, Druid, Paladin, Cleric, and Bard.

2: Do not try to change alter the story to your characters benefit (Meaning don't add objectives outside the ones already placed or the such. This will not be tolerated)
3. Do not God Mod, Meta Game. Meaning do not bring in elements beyond the medieval fantasy genre such as scifi like aliens. Don't create something too OP.

Name: Kyoto Yamisaki

Class: Fighter/Swordsman
Description: Kyoto looks much like a samurai with his olive shaped eyes and scars that dotted his body. He has a tattoo of a large Dragon on his back with the Japanese symbol for water below it. The dragon is of the serpent variety making it resemble a gaunt Cobra. There are three distinct scars on his body. A X shaped scar on the left side of his chest and a y shaped scar on his cheek. The third on is on his left forearm. Other then that he looks normal with long black hair done in a pony tail and black woven steel armor with a red trim. He wields only one weapon, Katana.
Biography: Kyoto hails from foreign lands on the trail for the source of the letter that came to him from afar. He cared not for the coin being offered for that means little to him. He was a noble samurai and he came for the thrill of the battle. With such a price ,which will likely be split between individuals anyways, it would have to be a great challenge for him.

As for history, he did not have a real exciting one at all. He grew up within a village that housed a clan of Samurai and grew up to become one. He trained long and hard to be given the chance to fight in the name of the great aqua dragon that represented the clan that kept the peace. He was soon gifted a blade forged for him and by him. The blade was then blessed by the aqua dragon which guarded their clan.

Description: With long blonde hair and violet colored eyes she stood as tall as the average woman. Oriental like Kyoto she has olive shaped eyes and lightened skin. She chooses the clothing style of a ninja, black clothes with a mask to cover her nose and mouth to protect her from breathing in toxic fumes. She has woven bracers about her shins and forearms. She wields two short katanas and a arsenal of shuriken and even a long chain with a blade at the end of it. Her more deadly weapons though is her arsenal of assorted bombs. Ones with black powder, flash bang, and mustard gas.
Biography:
Ryoko was heavily trained in the arts of ninjutsu, using her abilities to the best she can. Her greatest ally are her eyes which she trained to notice things others can not, such as pressure pads or string meant to trigger a trap.

After recieving a letter from a hooded man she took to the roads to reach this Krystallem. The pay could really help her clan and she could put her skills to the test. Mages huh?.... Wonder if they are anything like the old monks in the old temples.

Description: Kyoko wears the classic uniform of a shoalin monk and wields a thick iron staff with a blade at the end of it. He is bald headed but has a beard about his face to honor the elder who shares its style.
Biography:
With his parents killed in a rebelion he had nothing left for him but that all changed when he was picked up by traveling monks. They took him to a monestary where they had stayed and took care of him. He felt that once more he had a family again. He treated the monks like they were brothers and the elders like they were his father. For once he had a purpose again and he lived that purpose training with them. He eventually became really good but he always preferred pole arms like the ransuer. One day he was handed a letter and when he read it he took it to the elders. The elders looked it over and wih much debate told Kyoko he should go. That this would provide a way of putting what he learned to the test. He accepted their responses and headed out to explore this new land from which Krystallem resides.

The bios are short for a reason. They will reveal more of their past. As traveling commences you know character development stuff.

Name: Nova Silvermoon
Age: 170

Race: Elf
Class: Sorceror
Description: Wears typical light armor of the elves. One mithril chain shirt underneath a blue tunic. She then wore a silver breast plate over the tunic. The armor was rather light despite how it looked. Her pants covered mithril chain pants. The pants matched the color of her tunic but not her boots which were made of a woven silver boots. Her hair long and pink and wavy with red eyes.
Biography: Nova was a rare breed among her kinsmen with her pink hair and red eyes. She was however normal in other standards. She could weave and play the elven flutes and harps. She could even dance pretty well. But her focus was mainly the arcane arts and learning to combat with it. She took the battle Mage approach to learning making her magic flow with her movements. She trained long and hard until she finally perfected it.

Then it came, a letter which she accepted. The letter provided her with a way of learning more an of course putting what she had learned to the test. She however was not the only elf in her city to receive the letter which made her love it even more. To go on a mission with two of her kinsmen. The best part was her older brother was one of them.

Class: Fighter
Description: Erandur like most of his kin was tall with long blonde hair and blue eyes. He wields a elven long blade and a elven longbow. He wears golden elven plated armor with a red garment poking out of it.
Biography: Erandur, older brother of Nova also received a letter and was a bit pleased to have his sister along. The pay wasn't all that important seeing as his kinsmen connected the dots. This mission must be extremely important to involve the church and mages guild. From the sounds of it they had no choice but to accept the mission and made way to Krystallem.

Name: Elendil Eagleswing
Age: 190
Sex: male
Race: elf
Class: Ranger
Description: Elendil wears the attire of a elven ranger which consists of a elven cloak that renders him invisible and dark clothes to keep him hidden in the dark. He wields two elven blades and a composite long bow which he mainly uses . He has brown long hair and blue eyes.
Biography: A member of a squad of special rangers whoa patrol the forests outside of the elven cities. He is highly trained in marksmanship and tracking. Sometimes he even uses nature it's self to track down his target. He travels with his wolf companion, Ajax is his name, the wolf has a grey coat with white streaks down its back. Ajax was part of his test to become a ranger officially. He had to go into the forest and not come back until he found himself a companion.

One day he was handed a letter by a man he thought was lost. The letter gave him a proposition that was tempting. He then took the letter to the elders of his city and after studying it they gave him permission to go on the mission. He would find out that he was not the only one being sent out. Apparently, Nova and Erandur Silverblood were being summoned as well. This made it more interesting.

Venus and Mars, I love Mina's or Minako if you want to go by her Japanese name cause I thought Usagi( Serena) was clumsy and Mina ended up being just as clumsy or worse. As for Rei well she was just cool and despite all of her teasing she was quite the good Scout.

Uranus and Saturn,.... Uranus is your typical man trapped in a woman's body, to me cause of what she likes and of course she won't mind breaking her knuckles against someone's face plus love her signature move.

I like Saturn because of her bravery in the last season and in the heart snatchers of the fourth season. In the last season if it wasn't for Rini stopping her she would used her power to destroy planets on the boss but Rini stopped her because she didn't want Hotaru to die.

Bio: The two letter name De is simply an alias. Before he became a knight, he was raised on a simple farm and was chosen by another knight passing through. He was injured and his mother and father were able to save him. The knight saw De and asked if he could take him as a squire. Since then, he was brought to the near by kingdom where he grew up to be a renowned strategist and war adviser.
And now he had a mysterious letter in his hand. As he opened it, it seemed as though his renown had gone beyond him. He was being called to action to a matter that far surpassed his duties here, in his kingdom. So upon asking permission from his king, the king reluctantly let De go to see do this matter.
