i prefer a relaxed atmosphere for our writing & communicating. as you can probably tell, my ooc chatter is pretty laid back. as i get to know you better, it will honestly get less and less coherent until you are Premium Friend Status and i dissolve into no punctuation or general linguistic sense-making such as right now. for posts themselves, i tend to stick to a couple paragraphs or more.
along that vein, i do like semi-frequent replies (once a day, every other day, more than once a day, pick what you're comfortable with), but i tend to be bad at rapid-fire posts. don't expect a multi-paragraph reply within ten minutes of receiving your message (i won't even send a one-paragraph reply that fast, friends).

my primary interests are science fiction and fantasy, although i can go for fandom type stuff as well. slice-of-life is rarer for me, unless you've got a compelling idea.

science fiction things i like: aliens, androids, space ships, space versions of regular things (mercenaries, cops, dogs, toasters), being stranded on weird planets, cybernetic prosthetic parts, space parasites, space religions, space cultures, space monsters
(put "space" in front of it, and i'll probably be interested.)
i do have a couple characters i'd love to play. they are all aliens. ask me about them (or don't, i guess). one of them has four arms and is mostly vegetarian.

fantasy things i like: angels, demons, furries, supernatural creatures, mythical creatures (basically all form of creature), bookish mages, houses that are alive, fantasy of all time periods-- past present & future, magical solutions to everyday problems, creature con artists
i'd say i'm a little more interested in exploring fantasy in a modern or futuristic setting. things like elves texting, centaurs trying to use the subway, gorgon hair salons. a lot of fantasy slice-of-life-- i'd love to use some cheesy pairing with this concept, so throw something at me that's ridiculous and fun.

fandom things i like: pacific rim, dragon age, mass effect, fallout 3, tes/skyrim
i watched captain america 2 recently, so i tentatively could go for that.
i might also be willing to try out something with the bbc musketeers show

a mercenary ship has to take some dignitaries to an intergalactic gathering. these are highly important dignitaries who are all bristling with guards and paranoia. some of the groups are at odds with one another. we could take characters from the hired ship and pair them with guards or ambassadors, or have characters that are guards/ambassadors of opposing planets.

sci-fi something i'm very sure i'm taking from dead space

a mining ship gets overrun with monsters. after the initial slaughter, a small group manages to hide away and survive. they must compete constantly with the monsters for food, oxygen, and their own lives. that only gets harder once factions begin to split the already small group. we could have characters from across power boundaries or something like that. it's a pretty small selection to choose from.
we could also do something about our characters discovering the source of the monsters. maybe it's some kind of sentient being. that could be interesting.

fantasy buddy cop creature hunters

two human partners hunt supernatural/mythical creatures that threaten humanity's safety, cracking jokes and taking names. they're good at their job, and keep the streets clean and safe for the general populace. at some point, one of them unknowingly gets involved with one of the beings they're meant to kill, and once they find out, they need to figure out whether or not to make an exception, and if they can even stay partners anymore. this has great potential for a poly relationship.

fantasy gods are out of touch with modern life

our made-up pantheon of gods is still very much active, but maintains the mindset of the olden days. they still expect minor sacrifices and they'll slum around the mortal realm just to screw around with people. one of the gods also keeps mortal consorts, picking out a random one every few decades or so. one day, they pluck a human out of their life completely out of the blue, briefly explain their new duties, and drop them back in. from then on, they butt in on the human's life whenever they feel like, never forcing anything but definitely pushing them pretty hard. eventually, the god becomes more and more interested in modern human life and starts hanging around more permanently to learn all they can.
