I was hoping we could incorporate something like this to the forum, it would make navigating the OOC and IC threads a bit quicker than manually scrolling up or relying on the back button and re-clicking the thread, etc. I know it's a minor feature, but on the other forum I frequent it speeds up navigation significantly from my experience.

I'd much rather have duplicates of controls at the bottom of the page. I know vBulletin never did it, but forums like phpBB and SMF put the linktree and some topic-tool buttons at both the top and bottom of the page for this very purpose.

If you are at the bottom of the page and want to go to the top then click the home button on your keyboard. Anything else is a waste of time better suited to anything other than copying functions of a keyboard.

That's assuming everyone is browsing from a computer with a keyboard. If you're at a kiosk, have a touchscreen computer or a tablet, you may not have a keyboard. Also, some new computers (Chromebooks) don't have auxiliary keys such as the Home key.

On-screen controls are part of device-agnostic design to ensure that every has the same ability to access the website.

Every touch screen device I have ever used if you double tapped the top of the screen it did the same thing as the home button. As for Chromebook users they have more problems than the lack of a home key.
