It is a quiet night in a small suburban town, with bright stars overhead and a deep, calming silence punctuated only by the sound of chirping crickets and frogs. If you're a human, special or not, you're probably comfortably resting in your own home after a long but decidedly average day of doing whatever it is that you normally do with your life. You might have just finished watching the newscast on TV reporting on the rash of strange eclectic incidents and sightings recently reported in the area. Depending on what kind of person you are you may be genuinely concerned, or maybe you just thought it was silly, but it's getting farther from your mind as you settle down and prepare for bed. No one really believes those types of things anyways, and if you told someone you actually thought it might be true they'd probably laugh at you, so you just decided to let it go.

If you're not quite human however, the story is very different. The quiet of the night is the safest time for many legendary creatures to emerge from the shadows. Thanks to Disbelief, something as innocuous as walking the street at night raises no alarms, and for once you're free to be yourself without worrying about someone seeing you do something they CAN'T just shrug off. Of course some of you who wish to interact with humans for one reason or another take this as bitter medicine; as much as you'd like to climb into someone's window and scare the beejezus out of them just to be noticed for once, you also wouldn't want to gain the ire of other individuals who think you'd only put them all in danger by doing so. Still, perhaps this will be the night when you finally get your chance...

Roger is by the fountain in the center of town, pacing back and force and looking somewhat agitated. He's waiting for the rest of the clan (well, Ireane anyways) to show up, and he knows there are only so many hours in the night. He needs that time to burn off the overwhelming energy inside of him, or he just might do something drastic during the day. If no one shows up soon he thinks he just might take off into the woods and kill something on his own.

Night was a time for good people to scurry back into their safe homes. It was a for the not-so-good people to prey upon the ones who didn't make it in time. For Lillah Lawson , it was a time to patrol the streets under the guise of a late night jogger. Usually, she'd be sitting in front of the TV taking out her anger issues via Call of Duty; however, with crime rates and missing persons on the rise she had been grudgingly getting out more and more frequently. Her efforts had been fruitless, though--within the last month the only crimes she had intervened in was a mugging and jaywalking. Supposedly, the predators were right under her nose, but neither she nor her father had found them. Perhaps it was a shade...

She jogged along, her eyes flickering about as sweat jumped off her body. Rock music poured into her ears through the ear buds she wore--quieter than usual, to her credit. Lillah knew to keep her eyes and ears open after dark. Breathing labored, she slowed to a stop on a street corner and looked around, as if debating which direction to go. Her hands raised to pull the headphones from her ears. Angsty Lincoln Park resounded into the air for a moment. Then, satisfied with the peace, she returned the music to her ears and turned the corner to continue on.

As the full moon hung overhead casting its soft pale glow down onto the earth beneath, accented by countless numbers of glittering stars, the air was filled with the slightly humid heat of early summer, along with the songs of the local fauna. Truly it was a beautiful night for a moonlit stroll, or, in the case of an auburn haired boy who appeared to be in his late teens, a moonlit hunt. This 'boy' was none other than Jacque La Croix, and his current location was the thick branch of a tree in one of the local park's nature trails. Jacque stared downward, mouth twitching a bit as he waited for his latest abductee to awaken from his slumber. As if on cue, the young blond haired man whom he'd lured out of a house party and knocked out awakened, "Ugh...my head. Where-" "Are you? The park Kyle. Arrowhead park to be specific.", the man jumped a bit and looked upward, eliciting a chuckle from Jacque. The man -Kyle- staggered to his feet as he recognized Jacque, "Wait, you're the asshole that was hitting on Laura, what the fuck!? Why the hell did you drag me out here you shit?!", Jacque grinned, his mouth splitting impossibly wide as the scent of copper began to waft through the air, "You told me to step outside. So we're outside. I felt it would be awful though if we interrupted the party though so I decided to find us a more suitable spot. I would've told you but I doubt you would've listened. So I decked you.".

Kyle started sweating a bit and coughed as the scent of copper hit him, he could feel that something was wrong, but he couldn't figure out what it was, "You knocked me out and dragged me all the way out here to fight me? That doesn't make any sense...". Jacque's impossible grin only stretched further, revealing nearly twice the number of teeth in a human's mouth, "Fight you? Heavens no! I dragged you out here because I want to play a little game." he said as the scent of copper grew heavy enough to taste, causing Kyle to wretch and gag, though the smell wasn't nearly as worrying as the sudden stab of primal fear he felt, "Why would I ever play a game with you, you freak? I'm fucking out of here, you ain't worth it.". Kyle turned to walk away only to find Jacque standing mere inches away from him, "Perhaps you didn't hear me the first time....", Jacque reached out and grabbed Kyle's throat, raising the slightly larger man with one hand as though he was weightless, "I want to play a game.". Kyle struggled and kicked feebly as Jacque held him in place, his eye bulged a bit as Jacque clamped down and began rifling through Kyle's pockets with his free hand. "Jeez you struggle a lot, fine if you really wanna be such a spoil sport, we'll do a short one..." Jacque said as he came away from Kyle's pocket with a quarter, "Heads or tails?", the 'boy' inquired. Kyle gasped a bit, realizing that there was no way out of it and just barely managed to rasp 'Heads'. Jacque's blue eyes danced with excitement, "'Atta boy, looks like I get tales then." he said before flipping the coin and catching it. They both looked at the coin as it lay flat in Jacque's palm; tails was the outcome. "Tough luck Kyle...you lost." Jacque chuckled as he loosened his grip enough for Kyle to speak, "SOMEBODY HELP ME,THIS FUCKER IS INSANE!" he howled, only for Jacque to punch him in the gut and cluck his [Jacque's] tongue, "Now now, no need to be a sore loser.".

It was shortly after Jacque said that when things truly became terrifying for Kyle; Jacque's body began to transform, it grew and twisted in all manner of ways as his bones broke and reshaped, starting first with his hands with sprouted claws that stabbed Kyle's neck just enough to draw blood. Jacque's clothing tore as his body grew and fur sprouted, his ribs actually began to tear themselves free of his skin. Kyle wasn't focused at all on that however, only on Jacque's head as horn like protrusions sprouted from his head, and most of the skin and flesh on his face tore open and sloughed off leaving nothing but bones that were gruesomely breaking and reshaping, taking the shape more akin to that of a canine's skull than that of a human's. Jacque never screamed, nor broke eye contact with Kyle as his body grew and morphed. His glowing red eyes bored into Kyle's as he began to salivate, "You should've agreed to play my game Kyle. Had I chosen a longer game you might have won...". The creature which had at one point been an auburn haired young man opened its mouth to reveal rows of massive jagged teeth, eliciting a piercing screech from Kyle. This would be the last sound he ever made before the top portion of his head was ripped free and devoured in a shower of bones, blood, and bits of brain.

Alex was lying on his bed watching TV. He had a beer in his hand as he watched the news. He muttered to himself, " I wouldn't really care what is happening with the world if it wasn't effecting my job" He then finished his beer and sat up. "well better get to bed so I can arrive at the plant tomorrow on time for work" He then walked upstairs and went to bed.

Drake sat, stretched out on a bench in the park, a bottle of something or other in his hand, about halfway gone, he was dressed as he always was, regally, in a black suit, dress pants and wild hair, though he had more of disheveled look about him than normal, it had been a long day, meetings, trips, concerts, all of which he had attended with eagerness, but there were no parties tonight, nor would there be, not for Drake anyway, the aptly named took another swig of the swill, and sighed happily after he felt it smoothly run down his throat. It was a special occasion, though perhaps not for Drake himself, but definitely for himself, there was a mystery about this day that had not been lost on the dragon, while normally a jovial kind of man, and not prone to bouts of emotional brooding, tonight was special, tonight belonged to them, just the two of them, just as it always would. Drake was never sure if his memories were his or another incarnation of his, if hhis very claws had been the ones that had been enveloped in hers or if it had been his great-grandfather's or his great-grandfather, or his, but he didn't much care, what he did know was that they had flown together, really flown, and grown up, or grown old and that today was their day, and as such, as was traditon, there would be no parties at the infamous Bacardo Manor, no poker night's, no poker nights or whiskey soiree's at the House of the Big Bat, as some called it, he poured a little bit of the alcohol, or so it appeared to the human eye, on the ground near his feet, an old tradition he, or a previous part of him, had started years before.

Suddenly an approaching presence entered Drake's sphere of awareness, he could hear the feet pounding the pavement ina rhythmic, consistent pattern, a jogger, he could feel the vibrations in the air from the strange blend of electeric guitar and fast speakng singer's that uniquely characterized Linkin Park, and lastly he sniffed, he smelled human, sweet yet with an aftertaste of bitter, like an orange covered in dark chocolate, mixing with that he smelled the acrid burnt of a person with a past full of things that shouldn't have been done, and yet the savory taste of hope and redemption mixed to create the unique smell of the paladin. Instantaneously upon making this realization an image of a man, dressed ina a remarkable amount of armor for how incredibly hot it was in the desert, weaving a curved sword about his head and feet, and doing a surprising amount of moving about for how hot it had been popped into his head. His mind also traveled to picture's from books, of men in still large amounts of armor, wielding incredibly large swords with strange names like hawksbite, Drake prepped himself for impact, steeling himself on the bench and behind it, ready for whatever would come, No one would desecrate this day or this place. He was surprised to see a woman round the bend by where he was sitting, the moonlight shining off of her hair as she rounded the corner, comong toward him, his eyebrow raised a very different action for a dragon than for a human but still it maintains the same purpose, a happily inquizzical look as he looked her up and down, his brain going back into analytical mode, decrypting her as he dipped his head.

As the sidewalk, that was still warm from the day, slowly cooled under the harsh light of the full moon, a cloaked figure made its way through the shadows. Depending on the person looking, the figure would probably appear to them as an annoyed girl in a hoody, or a homeless woman wrapped in a cover. Either way, it was clear that the person didn't want to talk, and so the people on the street hurried on, some of the more perceptive ones looking back at her just one more time, but in the end leaving her alone.

It was a good thing they did, as Ireane was not in a good mood. Her feet hit the ground at every step as if she was trying to crush whatever was beneath them, her face, or whatever was left of it, in a perpetual scowl. As she made her way to the park where Roger told her to meet up with him, she growled softly. He knew she didn't like full moons, when half her face was reduced to rotten flesh and bones, when sores covered her skin and her voice cracked. Even though she had stayed in the shadow until now, she already looked like one of the old paintings she had seen of Hel, the daughter of the Norse god Loki. She felt like it too. No, tonight was not the best time to meet with their Alpha. Yet he had told her to come, and she would listen.

She growled again, suddenly overcome with the desire to change. If only there was nobody around, if only her transformation was a bit more common... She turned around the corner and entered the park. Green trees all around hid it from the world outside, made it a perfect place for their meeting. Other than most of the parks she had seen lately, this one had no bright colored children's playgrounds, no sandboxes or tiles. The place was a showcase of human's work with nature, and although it had been tamed for sure, the end result was beautiful. Flowers and bushes were placed around in a seemingly random fashion, but balanced each other out perfectly. Special attention had been given to creating an illusion of the park never ending. Each time you would think you were done, another grassy field would be found. A surprising feat, considering the small size of the park. Of course, everything had to be lighted brightly to keep drug dealers and other unsavory people out of the place, and the bright lights somewhat ruined the romantic appeal of the park. Still, something about it kept its magic to her, and normally she would have purred at the scenery. Right now however, all she saw was the open square at the middle. She stood still for a second, dreading to leave the shadow. This was childish, she reminded herself, go out there and smile.

As she emerged from the shadows and headed over to the fountain where Roger was standing, she felt her skin dry up and crackle. She tried to ignore it, refusing to look at her reflection in the fountain as she stopped next to Roger and leaned into the fountain.
"I'm here, what is it that you needed me for?" It came out harsher than she had hoped, her mood leaking out even though she tried to hide it. She added a smile to make sure Roger didn't misunderstand her intentions.

Lillah was coming upon the park as she turned the corner. She assumed the most she would find there was druggies and drunks. Sure enough, a man clung to a bench as if protecting himself and his alcohol against the dark night. Though, his expression was annoyingly amused and curious as he stared at her. For fucks sake, she thought in irritation as she still approached him. Typically, a strange drunk man in the park was a young woman's cue to take a detour, but Lillah continued on her path with nonchalance. Either he was harmless or harmful--and if he was the latter, Lillah was right where she needed to be to solve some of the problems in town.

Instead of passing the man and continuing on her route, she slowed to a stop before the bench, scowling at him. "Can I help you?" she prompted aggressively, pulling the music from her ears and letting it spill out into the night yet again. Predictably, her breathing was heavy from all the energy spent and beads of sweat trickled over her olive skin. Her tank top was darkened with perspiration, as well, and the phone strapped to her upper arm blinked to life as an app encouraged her to keep running--don't stop now! However, the man before her had her attention: he was dressed too nicely to be a hobo so any business he had in the park was worthy of inquiry.

It didn't take long for Jacque to finish his meal, there was of course the small delay of removing Kyle's clothing for himself, but afterwards only mere ten minutes had passed before everything that Kyle had once been was reduced to nothing more a few flecks of blood on the grass below. The wendigo licked his claws clean and yawned, content with the feeling of a stomach full of flesh, still though he couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment at the lack of entertainment before his meal. Jacque let out a heavy sigh and examined the clothing; The shirt was covered in blood and was therefor too risky to wear, so he wiped his face with the shirt begrudgingly ate it, thankfully however the pants and belt were clean, however Jacque couldn't bring himself to wear another man's underwear, so he flicked them into the bushes with a claw, lastly came the shoes, a bit big for him, but he'd manage. Jacque twisted his head a bit eliciting a string of cracks from his neck before he reverted back into his human form, shedding his fur, rearranging his bones, and regrowing the lost flesh from his face as though he had never transformed in the first place. The now naked young man quickly donned the pants and shoes and walked until he came out onto a trail and broke into a jog . Jacque was in decent shape, not extremely muscular, but not thin to the point of looking frail, he sported the frame of a track runner, which should would help should someone actually stop him, though given the time of year, the likelihood of a shirtless male jogger being stopped was nil.

Drake looked the woman up and down, attempting to maintain his drunken appearance, the sweat covering her was to be expected, she was a runner that was running after all, as was her increased heart rate, though a woman running at night, alone, especially with the messiness some of the other mysicals had been creating lately, was either not very wise or fully capable of handling herself, Drake assumed, from the smell of paladin that came wafting off of her like bag of chips opened inside a car during a rainstorm, as well as the strength he could see in her arms that the latter was in fact the case. He also noticed, as she stopped, that the little light on her phone had caused it to come alive, so either she thought that talking to drunken men on the street was more important that answering a text message, OR she had some sort of app that encouraged her to keep running, Drake stored that small tidbit away for later. Her hostile tone wasn't all that surprising considering the way it must look, a drunk man in, an admittedly impeccable, suit, looking disheveled and holding onto the edge of a bench for dear life, looking, somewhat analytically, at what was probably considered an attractive, by human standards, woman, running by, but her actions and words were interesting, he hadn't said anything, and yet she had stopped in front of him, he pondered that as he answered, cracking a smirk as he did so "You stopped in front of me, remember? if anything I should be asking that of you." Drake answered politely after a moment, adding a small bit of slur to his words, he liked to keep up appearances, especially around new people, especially around new people who smelled of human.

"You were staring at me like a creep," Lillah pointed out defensively. And she continued to dislike the way he looked at her, smiling in a way that she didn't exactly perceive to be friendly. "Why don't you stumble back home?" She was tempted to add some cliche line about how dangerous it was to be out after dark, but she didn't have much room to talk. Granted, she was confident enough that she could knock the drunken smirk off of the man's face if he tried anything funny. She doubted any confidence he had was backed up by the sort of strength she had--especially since he seemed pretty wasted.

He paced around a few more times and then gave her a frank, square look. There was a low sound that came out of his mouth that was a vague cross behind a grow and a hiss as his animal-like eyes stared out from the darkness.

"I've never been able to stave off the desire to hunt for very long. Yet I'm apprehensive. Something in the atmosphere of this town has changed. My father once had to move our clan after the people in the town lost their Disbelief. Something like that may happen again if we move too rashly in these next couple days...and deciding what our next move should be is drawing my ire."

As Jacque continued along the path before him he caught the scents of two other creatures up ahead. The first was quite clearly human, however there was a strange tinge to it that he couldn't quite figure out, the other scent however instantly sent a cold shiver up his spine, reptilian, accented with the strong, acrid smell of brimstone meant that there was a dragon ahead. Jacque came to a halt, he felt his heart thudding heavily in his chest as he felt the tingling sensation of adrenaline raging through his body, a fairly normal response for any creature that knew there was an apex predator nearby. He considered briefly the idea of just cutting through the woods to go home, however his sense of pride wouldn't allow it, it would not allow him, a wendigo, a being that ranked as one of the highest members of the food chain, to take an alternate path to avoid something else. "Just play it cool La Croix" Jacque muttered as he breathed slowly to calm his heart and began to jog once more, though at a slower pace than the one he'd had earlier. It wasn't long before he caught sight of two figures ahead; a young woman ,a human, who appeared to be berating an older male sitting on a bench, the dragon. Jacque fought down the sense of bewilderment as he witnessed the woman's actions, 'That child has no clue what she's dealing with...' Jacque mused as he fought down another stab of fear and jogged past the two, sparing a quiet "Pardon me" as he jogged around Lillah, all the while trying to discretely glance at Drake. In the span of a second, Jacque's eye went from blue, to crimson, to blue once more, though it would have been hard to tell as he never stopped jogging.

Drake picked up another scent as it approached, again the rhythmic tapping of rubber against the sidewalk, this time coming from the opposite direction, he sniffed the air, twas definitely a mystical, though he could only tell the species as it grew closer, a Wendigo, the sickly smell of blood covering most of it, must have just had a late evening snack. On a certain level Drake liked, or at least respected the Wendigo, they cleaned up after themselves very efficiently, often barely leaving a trace even to those with eyes to see it. As this particular wendigo passed him, Drake, only taking his eyes off of the paladin for a moment, nodded subtly in greeting, time slowed as he watched as the beast's eyes flicker in a color change, nothing escaping the sharp eyes of the dragon.

Turning his attention back to the Paladin after the long moment spent swiftly analyzing the passing wendigo, who was hopefully not off for another late night snack, Drake caught the end of the Paladin's words ".....just stumble back home" Drake wondered if perhaps he should teach this woman respect, he was, after all, among the most powerful of those under the influence of Disbelief, something this woman clearly didn't pay much attention to, or else her attitude might tend more towards that of the wendigo, a racing heart, a sweating brow, polite gestures. Normally he might do just that, but tonight was special, there would be no violence on his watch tonight, it being a sacred tradition to him, in addition there would be no barbequing or deep frying tonight, so Drake decided to have a little fun with this angry woman who had dared to suggest that he abandon his vigil, simply because she thought he had looked at her funny "Creepy? Is this not a free country, am I not free to sit where I want, again you approached me, I was here, minding my own business when you came up and began berating me, I think you owe me an apology" the Dragon toyed with the Paladin as he crossed his arms, again adding extra slur to his words to cover up his sobriety, unsure of her reaction, but more than sure that anything she could throw at him he could take, he continued the smirk that so clearly angered the Paladin.

Although Lillah didn't notice a Wendigo had passed, she offered a look of confusion as the jogger sauntered on and her eyes followed him for a moment. Someone that fit wearing pants and a belt to go running was a little strange to her. That definitely didn't allow for as much comfort and movement as sweatpants or shorts. What is with people tonight? she thought curiously. Eyebrows furrowed, she turned her attention back on the man before her. He wanted an apology, and he was still grinning, sure enough.

Lillah continued to frown at him as she crossed her arms, eyeing him carefully as she considered her next words. He had seemed suspicious, but now she was convinced he was just a drunk. Unlike the creatures around her, however, she wasn't particularly prideful. "Fine," she relented. "Sorry. There's just been some...problems around here lately and everyone pisses me off already, so now that people are disappearing..." Her voice trailed off and she glanced the way the other jogger had gone, a familiar chill rising in her chest as her scowl deepened.

Suspension of Disbelief, the words drew her attention, and she looked at Roger with a hint of curiosity in her eyes. She had never heard of the Suspension being lifted on entire towns before. In fact, the idea filled her with wonder, and for a moment she fantasized about transforming on the marketsquare, no need to hide... But he was right. If something like that were to happen, a move would be necessary. Moving was such a hassle, and after arriving, it would take far too long before they could relax like they could in this town. People were wary of newcomers, especially newcomers that needed to hunt.
Still, there was no need, nor was there the possibility to keep their tribe from hunting where they were right now.

Ireane studied his face closer, trying to assess his mood before answering. From what she saw, he did seem slightly agitated, but a certain carefulness still dictated his actions. Content with her studies, she turned away from him. Instead, she seemingly absentmindedly started tracing the relief on the fountain with her long nails.
"Apprehensiveness is a priced trait amongst those that stalk the night..."
Her fingers had found a part of the decoration that was shaped like a flower. She gave a quick look at Roger again as her nails followed the lines of each petal, clearing out some moss on their way.
"However, a hunt is what we need; the tribe is restless like you, and few can control themselves. Within last sunrise and fall I have had to break up two fights..."
She hissed softly between her teeth as she thought about them. The young ones, she called them, but only because 'cubs' would give them an excuse for their behavior. One of them had even sctratched her arm, and she wouldn't quickly forgive him that. They had looked considerably worse themselves however. Strange, how little this tribe seemed to care about keeping themselves unharmed, seeing as hardly half of them could heal their wounds.

Alex was sleeping when his phone went off. He woke up saying "what now?"
Alex answered the phone, "what do you want?" The man on the other end said "Alex we've got a huge problem here, alarms are going off all over the plant, we need you down here stat." Alex said "find just give me a minute will ya" Alex then yawned as he walked over to his closet and got his work uniform back on. He walked down stairs and grabbed a Monster energy drink as he walked out the door and to his car. He then drove toward the plant and had to drive around the park to get there. He noticed that there were still some people in the park. He shrugged and muttered "weirdos" and kept driving past the park to the power plant. He arrived at the plant and could hear the alarms from the parking lot. He jogged to the office and when he entered he said "what the hell is going on" His boss walked up and said "Alex get to your station , we need as many hands as we can with this, we don't want this town to experience another blackout." Alex shrugged and said "ok" Alex then went over to his station where he controlled on of the many generators in the plant. Alex began to flip switch and turn dials trying to get the generator to cool down. "this worked last time so here goes nothing" he said as he began to type stuff on the computer to activate a program he had found that helped.

In the parking lot of the power plant, Jacque sat beside Alex's car humming a little tune to himself whilst braiding his hair to make up for the lack of a rubber band to place it in a pony tail. He'd been standing at the entrance to Arrowhead park attempting to steady his nerves after coming so close to a dragon when a car had whizzed past him and down the street. "Perhaps one last hunt will help me calm down. Games always make me feel better...", he'd said at the time before following the vehicle to the power plant. Sneaking past the security gate had been simple enough, just a leap of the fence and he was in without even having to go near the front, however he'd lost sight of his quarry in that time. It didn't take long for Jacque to find Alex's vehicle, however the man inside had entered the facility in the time it took, eliciting a small sigh. Still, the wendigo was at least somewhat patient, and decided he'd wait for about half an hour to see if his quarry would come out before entering to pursue him, hence his current condition.

Unfortunately, Jacque was so entranced in messing with his hair, that he didn't notice the security officer next to him until the officer's flash light illuminated him. "Hands where I can see them!", The slightly overweight man barked at Jacque, whom complied without a word, "Are you authorized to be in this facility?" ,"Nope.". The officer stared at the boy before him, rather surprised, even a tad bit pleased at the fact that Jacque didn't attempt to run or lie seeing as many intruders attempted both of those things. Still, intrusion was intrusion, and the security officer had a job to do, "Alright, you're coming with me to the front, if you comply then I might let you go rather than get the police involved. Just hold still." he said before producing a pair of handcuffs and tugging out his radio, "This is Officer Henderson, be advised, I have located and am apprehending an unauthorized individual who has entered the facility, over.", there was a bit of static as the radio crackled to life and someone responded. The wendigo calmly waited as Officer Henderson advanced towards him until his wrist was grabbed, then lunged forward and slammed his forehead into the security officer's nose with an audible 'crack'. Not letting up just yet, Jacque wrestled the man to the ground with the help of his supernatural strength and proceeded to choke the man to the point of unconsciousness, although not without receiving a punch in the eye for his troubles. "You know, if it weren't for the fact that this black eye I can feel coming is gonna be healed over in an hour or two, i'd probably rip you in half." Jacque said in a matter-of-factly tone as he dragged the officer back into the boot at the front and threw him in his chair and dusting himself off. It was a bit risky hanging around the plant now, however Jacque wasn't one for letting prey just escape, he ran back to Alex's car, read the license plate, and transformed his hand before raking his claws down the door. Jacque admired the four deep gouges, certain that now he wouldn't forget the car even if he forgot the plates, then slipped back out of the parking lot and began to run down the street once more, this time heading home towards his apartment roughly twelve miles away.

Alex could hear the other workers over the intercom. "the surge wont stop it's almost like it's avoiding our counters. Alex then heard someone yell "SOMETHING IS ATTACKING THE GENERATOR" Alex looked at the screen near him that now showed a large shadowy shape attacking the equipment around it. Alex said "I have an idea everyone else shut down your generators and I'll keep mine on." The other men on the intercom said "are you nuts it will come after you." Alex said "that is exactly what I want to do then we can hit it with a surge." The intercome was quiet for a few moments and then he heard "shutting down generator 1", "generator 2 is down" "preparing surge charge in reserve station" Alex then watched as the plant seem to get dark. He then could see something in the shadows coming toward him. Alex said "well here goes nothing" Alex then began to countdown "release surge in 5, 4, 3, 2," The shadowy beast was about to strike the generator with his claws. Alex then said "1 NOW" Suddenly the who plant lit up again as a surge of energy went through the generators. When it reached Alexs it overloaded it which made it shock the shadowy beast. The beast howled in pain and then turned and ran toward the city. It attempted to leap over the wall but in it's weakened state from the shock it tumbled over the wall and landed on Alex's car, crushing the roof and front end. The beast then stumbled to the town and went down an alleyway where it returned to it's human form of a hobo. He began to limp his way back to his home.
Alex could hear the men cheering over the intercom. "Hell yeah, that's how it's done" "Great job Alex" Alex leaned back in his chair his heart pounding. "what the hell was that thing?" he muttered to himself.

Drake's eyes softened as he looked at the worried woman and heard her apologize, to him she seemed so frail, so tiny, and yet to others she must be a paragon of feminine strength, and indeed, he could practically smell her devotion to herself and her goals, even if it was tempered by the burnt smell of do-nothingness. He decided that he should stop messing with her, besides, it was getting early, and he should get himself home before the night ended. It was then that he noticed the scowl on her deepen, and a very slight, practically invisible momentary shaking, the telltale signs of something inside her warning her, he wondered for a moment if perhaps it was warning her of him, though surely not, he would have seen these signs earlier were they going to do that, more likely they were a delayed warning of the Wendigo, or of something more foul that was occuring, it was then that Drake's tail shivered and tightened, this feeling is the dragon equivalent of a very minor charley horse. This kind of thing only happened once every while, and occured when something very bad was about to happen, straightening his leg in human form, Drake laid it over the bench until the muscles in his tail and leg relaxed, he worried that these were becoming increasingly common lately. Then, sitting up, and actually stand up as well, making sure to add a goofy smile to his face, an unsteady sway to his stance and to slur his words once again, he turned to the woman "Would you mind walking me home? One never knows the kind of riff raff one will meet on a night like this, and frankly I'm a drunk little" Drake added a belch for good measure as he gestured in the direction of his home, the opposite direction from which she had come, and the Wendigo had gone. If she agreed, and Drake was confident, though not certain, that she would, then the wendigo would be able to have a second late night snack (as wendigo's are known to do), and get home without running into her again, the collision of which would almost definitely violence, and the Idea of violence on his anniversary was abhorrent to him, especially if he could have prevented it.

The man started speaking again, and she blinked, her suspicious glare after the jogger becoming simply guarded as she looked to him. He was asking for an escort, and she eyed him for a moment. The expression that had annoyed her faded away and was replaced with a more childish gin and--and he burped. She wrinkled her nose in response to that as she pondered her choices. He could be planning on trying something, but she knew she'd feel bad if he woke up in a ditch the next morning. Besides, better he try to hurt a paladin than any other defenseless human--she'd be able to keep an eye on him. "Okay, I guess," she agreed hesitantly. She brought her hand up to her phone that had been spilling music out into the air since she stopped and silenced it, leaving the earbuds hanging at her shoulder. "But from now on, maybe you should consider staying in when you drink," she scolded.
