Ok since your open minded I will put you near what we call morocco which will help your trade. Do note that this world is much warmer so your city will probably have highs that are dangerous at around noon during the summer.

Since your on the coast though water shouldn't be an issue

I'd suggest white cloth hanging between buildings being tradition since it would reduce sunlight. But it is totally up to you

I don't know about an empire, but I was planning on the Desert People's territory to be scattered with nomadic tribes and other city-states. Would you be OK with defining the territory on the map? The Desert People would be in the same ethnic group, and although the population may not match up, the region itself may be formidable for Procellia.

Sabaeans are a group of Desert People, and have significant influence in the region. They may all very well lie in Saba's sphere of influence.

I was thinking more of an old empire that has dominated world politics for centuries. With a huge geography and population.

It's more to make a powerful political force that counter balances Procellia

Fair. I was just thinking that since Saba is clearly the dominant force in the region, and pretty much the only medium between the Desert Peoples and the rest of the world, it could be a sort of pseudo-empire with a globally untapped economy teeming with culture.

The entire region may not actively play a part in global politics as a whole, but Saba surely does.

So would it be like the Sangha? They had a strong Capitol and simply exploited the rest of their empire to support the Capitol and provide resources.

Well, the region would just be scattered nomadic tribes and minor city-states who generally keep to each other. Saba's interests lie more in the world economy, and the connections between Saba and the rest of the region are primarily diplomatic and cultural. There are a lot of resources and there is potential in its markets, but it still remains unorganized and pretty much refuses to comply with the global order at the moment.

It's just Saba's cultural connection and its prosperity that would facilitate its growing influence over the region.

Would it be OK if it were defined in another shade of yellow? or perhaps a different color? Saba doesn't legally have dominion over the entire territory, but the sphere of influence exists.

Also, how much would you be willing to allocate me? Looking at the map, the region would be fairly large, haha. Plenty of space for hundreds of nomadic tribes to scour, and enough for any wanderer to get lost in for a lifetime.

The map wouldn't show spheres of influence. It is more a political map of defined borders if that makes sense.

I was just wondering if you'd mind defining the region in color. It's understandable if you won't, because it's technically unorganized and generally anarchic.

The region would be at least the Barbary Coast, possibly extending further into the Sahara and then the Arabian Peninsula if you'd allow it.

Probably got a little too ambitious in trying to fill the role for a second major global entity.

To balance it out you would need a centralized government over a large area and multiple cities ect
