Apparently google is a popular place to search for places to play these days.I just have recently landed here after what seemed like a long time of trying to find a new place to play.
My history is from IRC to forums to TalkCity to forums...for about the last 13 years or so with some breaks, which is mostly recently so pardon my rust.
I've played primarily medieval fantasy type games but with some various other genres sprinkled in between. I'm comfortable playing anything from that genre to modern to Victorian, to Gothic etc. My weakness would probably be space/sci fi but I imagine I could grow into a character in that area.
