President Ion Iliescu is still having a lot of popularity after he helped overthrow Ceausescu's communist regime in the revolution of December 1989.The romanians are working hard to rebuild the nation,and Ion Iliescu is looking forward to create a democratic economical power out of this former eastern bloc country.
President Iliescu sat at his desk,listening to a radio program.At about 11 A.M. a few petitioners came into his office.
''Sir,''said one of them.''We have worked hard for this law project,so please take a look.''
One of them put about a couple of files onto Iliescu's desk,backing 2 steps away after doing so.Iliescu took them and read them.It was a project requesting stricter laws and border controls,as well as the reintroduction of capital punishment.
''I will try to get this to be voted.It seems a good idea.''said Iliescu.''Your efforts to reduce this huge post-revolution crime rate is extraordinary.Have a nice day.''.
''Thank you sir.''said the one who let the papers on the desk,as they all walked out of the office.
Iliescu was preparing to deliver this project to the parliament to be voted by the parliamentaries.
