Ok, so I made this a while ago... and after I got a lot of people saying they were interested and reserving spots for bios I had 3 people actually join and only one person active for a week and then it died with no trace of anyone ever giving it a second thought, and that made me sad, I spent a lot of time working with some friends to make this RP a thing and it died twice. So, you know what they say. Third time's the charm! So here I am trying to revive it again! I figure I'll try to be more descriptive this time with my interest check so everyone gets a good idea of what exactly they are getting into.
The Mechanics: So this is an RP of a slightly different variety, I don't know how often this has been done in RPs but I know I've only ever been a part of one like this once. Rather than being an RP about a group of players this rp is a legacy styled RP about a guild/organization, The Dragon Order. The whole RP is centered around the story of the Dragon Order and each chapter within the story is based around different generations of the members within it. So at the end of each chapter a yet undetermined amount of time will have passed in the world and a new generation of heroes will arise, or the same generation will continue a quest or start a new quest from a previous chapter several years after events of the previous. It is an open world and while each chapter will be tied to a central plot that, once resolved, will be the final task for the chapter before continuing to the next, each character will have their own story that they may develop as a side plot for none, some or all of the characters. This will add to the overall story of the order and give it further depth and complexity.
In short; this rp will be made of several chapters each with their own plot and goal, the overall rp is simply about the collective stories of each Chapter. It is, in essence, the rp of the legacy of the Dragon Order.
The World/Setting: This is an open world RP. At any point in the RP a character may go anywhere they desire and have the means to travel to. It is a medieval fantasy, magic was the cause for its creation and there is still much of that magic lingering allowing anyone, given enough practice, to harness this energy and use the magic to their will. Magic in this world is inspired by the magic of The Elder Scrolls, and as such is divided into 5 schools, this will be discussed later in the rp. The map is detailed yet incomplete. My friends and I never finished naming each province and city, so there is still a lot to be added. If the conventions for naming a city in a pre-named province is followed you may make your own city, or if available you may name one of the nameless provinces, create your own description for their culture and determine their side in the beginning conflict. The world at the beginning of the rp is in conflict, many provinces have started to believe that magic is no longer useful and instead too dangerous to be allowed free practice. Other provinces believe, however, that as the world was born from magic that it would be outrageous to ban it. These two factions are locked in a state of Cold War, constant tensions cause many small conflicts but all out war has yet to break out. Then in the midst of all this turmoil, an ancient power awakens, a tyrant of ancient times; Nolsu'umwahlaas (From Breath, to Life), the first dragon, born purely of magic and the father of all dragons. In a freak accident of dark magic in an attempt to control the beast, he is unsealed from his eternal sleep and unleashed on the world to bring down his fearsome reign once again, this leads to the gathering of the players in an effort to stop the beast, and after a series of events leads to the formation of the Dragon Order.
That is essentially all I want to explain about the RP, hopefully it's enough to catch interest. Please post here if you are genuinely interested and will post and be active with this RP if it gets revived, I don't want to be given false hope like the other times because I really don't want to see this RP die before it ever really starts again.
